If someone immigrated here from Canada would they be considered a foreigner?

Say the word house, route, etc.

Loves.....I think that both of you....Marita and Nit have a point................

The more he has said the more I am not sure but I was willing to believe certain things due to him saying that he had served in the military etc etc

I am not actually sure about that anymore....too many contradictions.........too many descrepancies

But what I do know is.....he needs help....professional help.....he is suffering some anguish and he needs compassion........................but at the same time and more importantly......his agenda needs rebuffing and therefore....NOW.....I do think that Marita is correct in her assumptions......under or pretext the guise of compassion....least we believe.....................................................................................................

Theres a lot of things that I don't like about the world......breakdown in law and order, murder and mayhem.....injustice......but I remember this.....my gramps spent the best years of his life, fighting the Nazis and when that was done.....he was shipped out to the East to reinforce the war there......so its a betrayal if I don't say this kind of blatent racism is wrong.

If we don't speak now...........why did my gramps waste his twenties for?

Your gramps didn't waste his twenties, in my opinion, no matter what happens.

I thank my god for people like your gramps, and mine.

On Topic - When my Anglo-Saxon ancesters moved in and chased my Bretone acesters to Wales, Scotland, and elsewhere, that was just wrong. My Jute ancestors stayed pretty much to themselves because that's what Jutes do.

but the truth is my father in law,...who was a nice guy,...was in the German army,..and he was still a nice guy when He immigrated to Canada,...and,..he was still a nice guy when he joined the Canadian army,....I think I have made this point before but lines are so foggy,...today enemy is tomorrows foe and the reverse is also true,..so then if it's not people in general,.,...it has to be actions of governments that is the variable factor,...

people are just people no matter what language they speak or even what church they go to ,..most believe in good and eveil and most actually agree on what that is,..its just their prospective,...and how their LEADERS present that perspective,...

I hope this thread wasn't against illegal aliens, I would be the bad guy then. When we moved to Texas in 1832, Spain said no more immigrants from the US. We were illegals. General Santa Anna still gave us our land. He wasn't such a bad guy.

Hey Chuck: keep practicing your spanish....the way we are growing there, in no time it will be an official language... Tejano, salsa and merengue, national music of the USA....(was going to say tango, too, but you guys are not ready for that yet....)

Well.....Marita......you do speak out against racism and your father in law was just like my gramps....small cogs in a big wheel.

We can make distinctions btw German Army and Nazis

latintango, almost every country south of me speaks spanish of one dialect or another. I'm sure you already know this. If I could learn to speak Spanish well, I would have a lot more opportunities in this hemisphere.

Yes Chuck, I know...I came from the southern part...
But it's really funny....Bush and Co. are so worried about a small cell of 5 or 6 people getting there, and hispanics are invading the USA on a daily basis....

And I'm not kidding now...want to learn spanish? Forget the anglos...date a mamacita, a senorita...it's the fastest way.....guaranteed !!!!

My mom' grandparents had to change their family names during WWI. They lived in Michigan and were not too popular because of having German names.

@ latintango - Seguro! Too bad I'm already married. That is one of the reasons I wanted to learn Spanish. We have a lot of really attractive immigrants here from Mexico.I wish I could have met Cantinflas. I am an Improv performer and he was the best comedien ever.

Change their German names.....in the USA??

Strange because there are so many German Americans there and they still have their German surnames....look at Eisenhower.....................................
I can imagine it to be different in England or Ireland but not in USA/Canada.....theres millions of German named Americans

PS.....does your wife know......this interest in Spanish......??
