I watched people around me get slowly stupid and then the day came when they made no sence anymore. By that time death was near (75 ish y/o) but still...
no offence to anyone, Im not pointing fingers or anything like that. Im just curious. there are some societies on this earth of ours that have no need of liquor and then some make alcohol from their own spit... tell me that is thinking straight. would you drink your tribe matse spit just to cop a buzz? | |

see...most people don't NEED to drink...but we do for social reasons. not only does it loosen inhibitions and the libido (at first, it just means you talk more, which can sometimes be a good thing) but it also gives you something to do when you go out. it sure as heck beats asking someone to go sit at a table with nothing in front of them.
occasional use of alcohol doesn't make people stupid. regular abuse of alcohol does. it sounds like you knew a boozer and it turned you off the idea of having the odd drink here and there. not that there's anything wrong with that...just that you're in the minority.
there's nothing wrong with the odd drink here and there...in fact...a glass of wine a day is supposed to be quite good for you. suppose it depends on the size of the glass tho... | |
