The pic and the profile are all me. I have no need to invent either an image or a personality. I find that people with fake photos will not meet - or course. They will either hem and haw or stand you up. The ones I hate even more are the ones who invent a personality. Try spending a date with a one dimensional person. Personally, I'd rather sit and watch clothes dry.

those types of "leading you on" fakes are wrong, Gallivanting1. I agree.

If someone's just here chatting up the forums and is clear about that being their only goal, then it shouldn't matter.

I am SO tired of either fake pictures or old ones... 9 year old pictures that do not reflect the 40 pound weight gain or how about the guy whom I was recently in touch with with totally fake pics "well, I didn't lie about anything else"... trust is broken... how do you build a relationship based on lies from Day One?
To all the Vancouver ladies out there who have seen and chatted with Inti153 beware... it is not him... he finally sent me a picture through... nothing like the gorgeous guy in the pics... if you are going to put up a fake pic why not at least have the brains to make it of someone LESS attractive so that the women/men will be pleasantly surprised at your sudden good or at least improved looks... makes no sense....
I have reported him and asked that his pics be removed but nothing... not sure why? Are we only allowed to report so many or should we not be able to report every single fake pic/profile that we come across?

Beats me why anybody would actually take the time to rate someone else's picture.
Guess they might be the same people that actually phone in and vote on reality or talent shows on tv.

Am I ever scared? Sure... Still would not put a fake picture or two up.... and then openly discuss with another person some of the people we have run into who have had fake pics up... that is down right deception... this site is not designed for feeling sorry for others. It is designed as a dating site - a place to meet people - looks are important to everyone. There needs to be a "click" whether it be looking at a photo or reading the profile of a person with no photo. The ones with no photos can then send something through privately.
Why waste anyone's time with fake photos?
Lesson in compassion? Yeah... sure....thanks for your suggestion... will get right on that...

Who cares about the fake pics what about the fake people on here. You see ads describing themselves and what their looking for in a relationship and this is far from the truth. I've been out with girls that their profiles fail to reveal the truth only to find a face that wouldn't fit any picture real or fake....Gary

heads up gal, while I agree with your need to post about someone's fake pics, be careful about posting his user name as well, as POF will ban you forever -- from what I've been told. Seerms they have rules.

I seem to be rated on the top 500 highly by men, and the womens votes of the pics I have put up have been like half of the mens average score!
Think it would be more fair if they took an average from mens votes and an average from womens and not combine the two!

I have perused the rated images and I won't bother with a woman that has her pic up for votes. Vanity is a sin. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's a shallow exercise frequented by the "mirror mirror on the wall" complex.

Thank you ... I was unaware of that... I understand though that I cannot delete a post so if they slap my wrist and ban me... nothing I can do... too bad.
As far as he is concerned I told him that I was reporting him and he finally took his pic off. He has 54 women who think he is the stunning man both in pic and words... he should have left it without pic so that they could meet the real man... once he lied to me it was done... too bad... can't build a relationship on a lie... not in my world...
Thanks for the thoughts!

2005 to 2007 and nothing has changed. Go through the pics today and you will still find an over abundance of fake pics.
From what I have seen admin does nothing about them when reported.

Lies are lies. And there are some chicks that post up bogus profiles out there of themselves and even men for 'fun'. A meeting tells the tale real quick though doesn't it?

Get Firefox and the Adblocker add on. Then you can right click and remove the pic, so you never see it again...also handy when you get rejected/no replies from someone. Kinda like dealing them out of the deck if ya know what I mean (just don't block the whole domain, that picture only).

Well of course the answer has to be a resounding no to your question... but then I belong to a couple of other dating sites and it seems to be a regular practice that people will use a models picture instead of their own... it really makes you think what that person really looks like underneath that lie or why they chose to do that in the first place... I may not be perfect but at least my picture is perfectly me take it or leave it... I will not lie to anyone about how I look... I mean why bother... they will eventually se you as you are anyway...

i've said this before and i'll say it again. many people sit and spend hours voting everyone a ten or clicking everyone as a favorite. the odds are that they will get a percentage of people who reciprocate the favor. so the top picture ratings are not only of fake pictures but often the results of a political /marketing outreach! i found this one woman who rated me a ten, tucked away on "my" profile wearing no pants, but of course the naughty pieces weren't showing. i clicked her profile and ratings and there were several of the others who also rated me a ten. i clicked each one in turn and this woman was everywheres. as a marketing research /strategy person in the non-profit field (before my disablity) , i found this interesting to say the least. what are the odds of that kind of overlap happening naturally?

so, in addition to this issue that your raise, and perhaps sharing the website where people can find the model pictures and compare (if that is allowed, not sure?), i would say: do not sweat not being in the top ratings, unless you have nothing else to do with your time. on the other hand, i might add that there are many people here who might find this type of effort rewarding-- as they make friends with people through email and then refer them to their more "professional" sites.

you are way more apt to meet good people via your interests and posting your opinions in the forums. there is the level playing field. you cannot fake a brain.

^^^^^^^^WRONG ALL WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You say people spend hours voting everyone a ten to get on the 1st page! That is not true...... I didn't even know I was on there until I had an email of someone complimenting me I was...I am on the 1st page of 500 and do not spend hours voting!!!! I have a retail business to run and do not have time to vote all the pictures as a political/marketing tool. You also claim the pictures on the front page are fake or model/airbrushed , not true in my case! Mine are done by cam and have met men and women on here that can verify I look like the pictures on my profile.
I do rate pictures after reading emails, how you get hours out of that I have no idea....when I do rate, casual down to earth gets a 10, boobs hanging out, legs split, chests , muscles popped out, etc. gets a 3!.I do compliment men with great pictures and profiles. (not a tool an actual compliment!)
Believe it or not ! There are actually women on the 1st page that are down to earth and not fake!
Your claims on favorites? Now that's a crock! I probably have 1/5th favors vs who have me as their favorite.

So basically, Serenitycw I am stating you are very wrong in your post reply about people on page 1, there are some actual true people there.

The whole issue of fake pics is mute when you consider this: At LEAST 75% of the fake pics are stolen by MEN POSING AS WOMEN who are living in foreign countries like Nigeria, Mexico, Russia, Vietnam just to name a few. They attempt to establish a "loving relationship" with some poor sucker so that the American will agree to try to help them with scams such as cashing of forged or altered checks and money orders or getting stolen property shipped to them which were acquired by using fake or stolen credit cards. Lots of American businesses are loosing MILLIONS of dollars thru this scam. UPS, Fed-ex, DHL and other US shipping companies keep a detailed listing of them names and addresses of these scammers. They are being investigated by the FBI and Interpol , but because they live in remote countries, they are SELDOM prosecuted. The merchandise is immediately seized at the shipping point and SOMETIMES it can be returned to the company. I know this because it happened to me in 2004. The scammers shipped me $500. worth of atheletic shoes (Nike, Reebok, Adidas, etc...) The scammers asked me to ship it to them at THEIR expenses. I was even allowed to keep a pair of the shoes for my troubles. I was later informed of the scam by Fed-ex headquarters several weeks later. I wasn't prosecuted for anything....just told to not ever do it again. BEWARE !!

I for one don't know why some people do that. Meaning those that steal other peoples pics from the same site and thinking no one will notice, and then when the other person sees their pic up on another profile , then there is a problem. People should try to keep it real, it's not always easy , but eventually you will have to put up a real pic of yourself and just show people who you are behind the computer/keyboard.

I understand that some people don't want to put up pics because they feel because this is the internet, that their pic will be recognized by many people ,maybe even by some person they know, or that there pic could be stolen or whatever, and thats understandable to have some concerns about that. But I think having atleast one is good.
