| Delete astrology sign please!
Posted: 10/16/2005 1:09:32 PM | A popular pay dating site filled with a million desperate men who want to get married to you after just one date..... ooops... I went off on a tangent there!
What I meant to say was.... on that site you can choose "I don't believe in astrology" instead of putting your sign on your profile. Then nobody has to be confused or offended.
I think that's pretty neat.
Actually, it's about the only good thing about that other site.

and since the moderator brought up religion, why aren't Atheist and Agnostic in the choices
Surely "non religious" is an adeqete option ?
I can't stand that "Rather Not Say" option. I don't contact/reply to any guy who has that as any response.
Is it really that difficult to ask ? | |

Posted: 4/27/2008 3:15:35 AM | If you don't want to query for specific signs then just leave the 'dont care' default. There are a lot of people who base their decision to make contact on astrology. If it's important to them, they'll ask you for your sign and no cuteness (nor argument) on your part will make them change their minds.
I kind of had to smile that removing the astrology sign would save space in the db. Tell you what, the field in whatever table you're so upset about is like 6 bytes per member (counting overhead) and oh and of course there is the cost of having an index on that field. Nothing to get excited about. | |

oh, and for those who suggested the chinese sign be incorporated..
we don't want to aggrevate the fearful .. oops: "sagacious" skeptics anymore, do we?
since some may not know and expressed interest in the eastern zodiac:
by having a person's age (assuming it's true) and their western sign , you can usually determine their chinese year sign easily.
I like the following chart for easy reference

to those skeptics: philosophy of science.. speaking from experience..check it out.. i mean in academic level indepth research style.. Scary big holes in that science skyscraper, huh?

And since you're taurus an earth sign capricorn, another earth sign, is very compatible.
I never noticed astrology before I showed up on POF but I will defend it because I notice many personal truths about it --- like the above user I work well with caps and my most closest friends in real life are cancers who are supposedly most emotionally compatible with Taurus. I never picked these people for their signs -- I picked them because I liked who they are!

a) same signs are not always compatible.
b) google it
c) if you open your mind a teensy weensy bit & give it a chance try astro.com and start a free account and do a FREE DETAILED reading. Mine have been dead on regardless to dates here. Try it.
d) even if you don't believe in it -- it's an icebreaker which is what this is for in SOCIAL DATING | |
