| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 8:50:29 PM | Babylonia... you know it's not like that... "fascist pc"... SHEESH...
Does anyone hold a gun to our heads and make us be sensitive to people's cultures and sexual preferences and ethnic groups?
People DO try and make us aware of when we're being insensitive... but I don't believe that's fascism; exactly...
Isn't it more just a thing of being respectful of what other people are?
I mean: we have "culture clashes" with people we meet in public who might be insensitive or having a bad day or stuff like that, but most people are pretty nice... right?
... and I do think we should be careful not to marginalize or offend them. I don't think it's WRONG for a person not to be attracted to me for whatever reason.... "white" or whatever they have going on in their minds that turns them off... but they should realize (as you seem to) that it's a choice that we should be free to make.
You never used to show a pic. You're a very attractive lady and I'm sorry I treated you so rudely in the political forum... BUT, I did realize I was wrong and apologized before I saw your pic.... right??? :-D

Most people? I am rethinking that. I used to think so, but not so much anymore. I live in a city that is tremendously multicultural, and I like that aspect very much.
However, when I tell those who are interested in me that I am not interested in them, they automatically play the race card. Keep in mind that I never told them 'why', and although they are right, isn't it my right to have MY preference? That they don't like my choice is their problem, and I'm not going to force a preference change on myself to appease society's sensitivities. We're talking intimate relationships - not friends or acquaintances.
Anyway, no, you never apologized about being a total crud to me. But I'll take the last post as an apology...

| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:02:18 PM | | I don't care how much You try and dress it up Try to make the words look pretty it is still a form of racism....Not being willing to understand or view another cultures way of life, cuts it too close for me.....Wars have been started over it....to each his own I guess | |
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:04:04 PM | | It's a form of racism that someone isn't attracted to a certain race? | |
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:06:15 PM | I did'nt say a certain race .......any!!
Mabe You should post that in Your profile a little more throughly than what You have
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:08:38 PM | uh..nonono....I apologize. I'm sorry.
I was getting burned out answering stupid replies by OTHER people and I took it out on you. But that's no excuse...Mia Maxima Culpa...
... and nobody has the right to call you racist for not having intimate relationships with any type of people...
but... let's change the perspective here.
Would you have intimate relations with ANYONE based on the color of their skin?
I hope you don't take that the wrong way, because I don't mean to insult you... but if a guy asks you to have intimate relations and you said "no. I don't like black guys.", then THEY might think that you would if they were "white". See what I mean?
Point being: I'm not sure that says exactly what you mean.... or does it?
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:10:03 PM | So is it racism if someone isn't sexually attracted to any race but their own?
Is it racist if a person is only sexually attracted to a particular race and excludes others, including their own?
Is it discriminatory to have a PERSONAL preference to date people who are from your same cultural background?
When dealing with one's OWN personal life, is their preference their business and not subject to these 'labels' simply because it's what THEY prefer for themselves?
(Just trying to understand what you mean)
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:13:44 PM | its not racism to not be attracted to a different race.. theres people that like skinny women, theres people that like chubby women, theres people that like short haired women, and theres people that like long haired women.. these are all personal prefrences.. and its what people are attracted too.. this can apply to people who have the same skin color..just like people out there who like different skin color.. this means that the attraction isn't applied to the persons heritage or culture.. but how the look.. (cause i like white or pale skinned women.. and am attracted to them.. but not so much dark skinned women.. this does not in any way make me a racist)
sorry Red..guess we cant always agree on the same thing..

| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:14:52 PM | Elwood,
Personally, no, I wouldn't have sex with a black man because I don't find them particularly attractive. If he had more caucasian features, then maybe. So, in essence he would be right to assume that I won't sleep with him because he's black, but not in the racially discriminatory sense of him being inferior as a human being. In the sense that I find VERY nordic looking men attractive, and since we are speaking of sexual attraction, something that is instinctual, I don't have much say in what catches my attention in that regard.
^^The same holds true for asian and any other race. This is just my preference. Again, just as I wouldn't put down someone who preferred woman who were short (I am tall), or men who were homosexual, I don't expect people to put me down for what I do and don't find sexually attractive.
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:16:04 PM | | Thanks Pakana...that's essentially what I was trying to say as well. I'm not discounting other races on all merits, I just have a personal preference for caucasian men sexually. | |
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:16:40 PM | | well all iknow is if you dont date outside your race it does not mack you a racist in fact it is not racist freedom means doing or not doin anything you want as long as it does not harm anyone | |

| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:17:52 PM | | You Guys Make it sound Like there is no other beautiful People In other Cultures,,Please Bro Come On..???? | |
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:19:53 PM | | That's exactly what I am NOT saying, DragonRed. There most certainly ARE beautiful people in every race. My sexual preference happens to be caucasian, though, and I think it is unfair for people to be labelled racist based on their sexual preference for white/black/asian exclusively. | |

| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:20:28 PM | Babylonia: oKAY... THIS is only a rhetorical question, so don't take it the wrong way...
is race the first (or only) consideration that comes into your mind when your making a decision about whether or not to have intimate relations with a person?
Isn't it more of a personal thing?...
Like maybe "This person is for ME. I think they're great and I want to put this thing up on a higher level than just being friends."
it sounds like a "public issue"...
Me, for example... I don't even think of race. I just think about the person. If they're that close to me ....because factually: race doesn't even exist. It's not even a real thing. We're (truly) all mixed up. Our ancestors have been cohabitating for maybe a million years now and some of theirs were some of mine; no matter WHAT color their skin is...so once I passed that level of breaking things down in my mind about the way things actually ARE.. and our shared humanity... I can't think of "them" as being "them" anymore. It's like WE are US, yaknow?
... and not just them, but YOU TOO!!!
|
| Interacial relationships Posted: 2/15/2005 9:20:33 PM | i didnt say that... i just stated what i was attracted too.. im sure there are tons of hotties out there with differet skin color.. but that doesnt mean i have to be attracted to them.. i know you are native american red.. and your a hottie | |

No, it is my very personal and sexual attraction toward them, period. My niece is biracial, and I love her. There is no racial line there with my love for her - I just love her. I'm talking about what lights my proverbial 'fire', and I find fair skinned men, the taller the better, to be the most sexually attractive to me on an 'instinctual' level. I love the look of a smooth fair face, light eyes...etc., it's something carnal and innate in me. I can't even put words to it except to say it is something highly instinctual.

EXACTLY! I isn't even an "us versus them" thing with me either. It's just my preference, and I do not consider myself racist for it.

did you just ignore my entire post... i though i just pointed out that it had nothing to do about race.. only the color of skin.. as people are attracted to so many other features on people.. hair, eyes, breast, ass..there is a big difference between these two.. your just looking for an excuse to call it a racial thing.. when its clear that it isnt..

I'm the type o'guy who will buy like 3 pints of different flavored gourmet ice cream... and dish everybody up a scoop of each type...
