Posted: 3/4/2007 10:00:39 AM | This is a topic that my opinion has changed on. I felt like someone was rude for not having responded to my message. But, in hind sight, why would I want to be with someone who doesn't want to talk? and... I've been told off by people who I said "thanks but no thanks" politely to.
It's a personal choice. I will continue to write back everyone, just because I like it when someone does it for me. But, I won't be turned off by folks who don't write back either.
On top of this, I apologize to anyone (I think there's only one, but hey) I may have spoken up to about not writing back. Bad on me, and best of luck.

Posted: 3/7/2007 7:23:28 AM | Everyone has different expectations, and sometimes I've been criticized by sending a "thanks but no thanks" type of email.
If you have a strong feeling one way or another, I wouldn't mind you letting me in on your preference when you email.
Adding a quick note at the end to say "send me a quick 'no thanks, drop dead scumbag' so I can quit staring at my inbox waiting for your reply"... or "PLEASE don't feel you need to respond if you're not interested... I GET IT."
Sound dumb? Maybe it is, but I'm willing to bet it will make a difference.
Personally? I would really appreciate it. | |

Hi cindy i beleive the poster was talking about me they are word's that i typed.I did use bad judgement and tried to explain myself when i noticed my mistake.Thats all i can do.Sorry you got caught in the middle.

As long as the mail sent is not degrading to either sex or looking for the obvious then I choose to reply and respond to all mail I get.
I might be interested in you or not but I can politely let you know where you stand.
That usually takes a couple of minutes which my day can afford.
If the person elects not to reply then maybe THEY werent worth it.
I know weve all been taught manners but in todays age not all abide by them.
Im not one to send any nasty e mails to a person who doesnt respond to me even if they sent me one. If they werent worth a reply then why should a response be any different. THEY arent worth it lets move on regardless of if we think it rude or ignorant or whatever.
Maybe thats we are known as FRIENDLY MANITOBA LOL. | |

It may seem shallow, but having a picture showing really increases your chances of getting a response. Having an interesting profile works well too. We don't expect you to write a book, but give us something to talk to you about at least.
Remember, when we respond to your e-mail, it's like talking to a stranger for us. We're women and some of us have had bad experiences so cut us some slack. If you want an answer, just give us something to respond with and about. | |

For I reply to me messages...as I'm sure other women do too

Umm..sometimes when writing others back with a 'thanks, but no thank you' message, no matter how kind, it is met angery emails back. Some people don't deal well with rejection and take it very personally. They forget the whole reason we are here...to find a match..and we can't/don't match everyone. Rejection is a big part of the territory when dating online. It is so, until we find the 'right one' who is most suitable to our wants, needs and ideals. I am sure alot of us, men and women, can relate storys of 'backlash' after writing 'no thank you' emails. Don't let peoples negitivity discourage u! If people are rude,..then u know they are not for you........ | |
