Posted: 3/26/2008 12:36:33 PM | Hi everyone. I have been in Omaha for a little over a year now. I am interested in meeting other singles. I think a monthly get to together would be awesome. Going to lunches or watching a band sounds absolutely wonderful. Bowling or softball maybe. Bar BQs are great too!! Lets get something going here!!! Maybe even going to the comedy club would be another option. I love humor!!!!!! Get back with me and let me know what you think!!!!!! Thank, Ellen | |

Unfortunately, comedy clubs don't do humor anymore. They just do "It's Like", "I'm Like", and foul language. And for some reason, people actually PAY for that privilege. I just don't understand it. | |

If you don't think people like that type of humor.. get in the game, or learn about some comedians, im sure there are some for you somewhere :) I can laugh at anything.. except the three stooges. Look up Mitch Hedburg (he died the night I was SUPPOSED to see him at a comedy club ={ ) He is hilarious.. quick snips of humor.. dry, sarcastic, just plain funny and ironic.
But back on track: We should definitely do monthly events, and do any people in their 20's goto the events? I've been stalking the forums and it seems like its mostly a been-young-a-lot-longer crowd that goto these events.. I would like to see some events tailored to us young bucks too!
P.s. I don't have a problem hanging with the cooler been-young-a-lot-longer crowd, but its nice to be able to talk to at least a few people closer to my age. | |

Would a picnic in the park sound good, everybody bring thier own, sometime this summer? We could all wear light blue shirts and then we would all know who was there from POF?

Posted: 4/23/2008 9:24:43 PM | | The Ozone is a lounge attached to Anthony's steakhouse located at 72nd and F Streets near Interstate 80 in Omaha. They do have live music there every weekend and most of the bands they have come in are pretty good. I've never been inside, so I can't tell you much on atmosphere. I've heard people say they enjoy the Ozone, though. Hope that helps! | |

Posted: 5/10/2008 8:08:14 AM | | HI; I live at Stamford, NE. that is about 15 miles from Harlen County Dam. There is single dances every Sunday in Hastings at the Eagles. Also dances on Friday in Grand Island the 2rd and 4th Fridays at the Eagles---usually pretty good. Anybody interested in a summer activity? The singles group I belong to is going up to Brewster, NE. and go down the North Loup in a cattle water tank, it is lots of fun---this is our 4 year doing it. This year it is on the 4th of July weekend. Cindy | |

Posted: 5/21/2008 11:40:27 AM | I have to comment on this "tanking the river" - I have participated in this event for the last several years, and I've never had so much laughter or fun! It is an AWESOME event, and the people who will be there are some of the best you will ever meet. Year before last it was overcast, about 60 degrees when we started; fifteen minutes into the trip and it started pouring rain. I was cold, I was in the water helping to push the stock tank up over sand bars, and I had SO much fun! I made friends with some wonderful people, and it made me determine that I will do this every opportunity I get! If you have questions? Just give me a shout and I'll be happy to fill you in!

Posted: 5/31/2008 8:20:01 PM | update on tanking---we have about 25 going---different states are IL, NY,,OK,,IA, KS, TX, and NE. Coming. What can be more fun the floating down the river with friends and having a few drinks on the way down. Then a creamcan supper to follow.  and do not forget the waterguns. | |
