I dont play video games anymore apart from chess on my playstation. And with a girlfriend I love giving her attention, and would wake up every morning thinking about how to make her happy.

I think that the video games today are creative and stimulating. Not to mention HILARIOUS. Don't worry man. Not all women think that way. Don't give up your hobby. You'll meet someone who doesn't mind...or someone who will even partake. | |

Woman don't hate the game... it's the gamer that would be a problem. I don't know why anyone would want to play a game wile there woman does nothing (quite rude). There are planty of woman that play games, I have met some. (mostly asain) only true from my experince. In one online game i play this woman is ranked 124 out of 108 000 ppl.
It's a myth that ppl who play video games are imature. Along with me I have some vary successfull friends that need that break from reality after watching a patient suffer.
When it comes down to it tho...

If tv watching was an olympic sport...my Ex definitely would have the gold...every year for the last 16 years. But, he HATED my playing video games. He didn't want time with me, he just hated the fact that I wasn't pining over missing his attention.
My advice is, and always will be, be who and what you are. There's someone for everyone...and they'll love you just the way you are. In fact, they'll even WANT to be involved in those things which please you. | |

thats all they care about, and do...like to the point where they have no time for me, or their work or anything else in their life...thats when it becomes "childish and immature".
ive known a few guys who thats all they do is play video games...they dont really care about going out or anything. when it goes to that point its really kind of sad...
but as long as the guy isn't obsessed to that point, it's all fun...because then for me at least, i have a video game partner. | |

Forty-three percent of game players are women.
Women over the age of 18 represent a greater portion of the game-playing population than boys from 6 to 17 (28% and 21% respectively).
The average adult woman plays games 7.4 hours per week. The average adult man plays 7.6 hours per week.
Females spend an average of two hours more per week playing games now than they did a year ago.
Sixty percent of online game players are male.
Forty percent of online game players are female.
Gamers devote more than triple the amount of time spent playing games each week to exercising or playing sports, volunteering in the community, religious activities, creative endeavors, cultural activities, and reading.
In total, gamers spend 23.4 hours per week on these activities, compared to 6.8 hours per week playing games.
Seventy-nine percent of game players of all ages report exercising or playing sports an average of 20 hours a month.
Forty-five percent of gamers volunteer an average 5.4 hours per month.

There's a fine line between devotion and obsession, unless, of course, you're devoted to your obsession.

It also makes sense that some women who object to video games have issues that affect their relationships (such as insecurity/jealousy) to the point where the guys they are with look for an escape. When this happens, the woman often competes with the video games for the guy's attention, and resents the video game for it's success where she has failed.
I dunno.. sounds insecure and immature to me..

I've seen it, although I've never dated anyone who was that way.
I would think that any guy who plays video games without his partner when she's around is truly looking for an escape and is either too lazy or too spineless to say anything.
Personally, if I had a girlfriend and she were nearby, I can't imagine a video game even being an option; my attention would be on her and what we could do together.. | |

like her, I need an escape and use the x-box to do it...this is my
down-time. I don't like to sit and read, or gossip, or go to the bar scene
to blow money on $4 drinks (wasted!).
Nothing wrong with down-time....expecially now, the games are
so realistic that my heart pounds! | |
