...and for those people that say "i don't like video games they're boring" that's probably because you're not good at them so you get frustrated and give up....that's been my experience at least
Oh so very true, I've lost count of all the girls I talk to who say they don't like video games becuase they can't figure them out...lol, well for us guys, least for me anyway, I like things I can't figure out, makes it more fun finding out new things, which increase the enjoyment 10 fold, thats the same with women for me, they have something I can't figure out, makes it more fune to search it out  | |

I'm glad to see that someone finally understands what i'm talkin about ! anyone i've ever dated that says that "i don't like videogames" line is just saying it because they suck at them....it's awesome to find someone to play games with even if they're not the same games you like ! I'm with an amazing girl right now who loves super mario for super nintendo so one day we were at the market and she bought the system and game and we went back to my house and played super mario for the rest of the day ! does that make us immature ? ummm no ? Like i said in my earlier post if your man is ignoring you to play video games it's more than likely a fact that you're BORING ! in bed or whatever it is you want to do you're obviously not all that interesting ! i would rather blow sh!t up than sleep with someone who's boring in bed or to go out with her to a pub so we can sit with her friends and i can sit around and listen to them talk about work !! wooohooo ! NOT !! and for those that have never even played videogames on a console system or pc *excluding solitaire and minesweeper* you really don't know what you're talkin about if you've never played them | |

I've even heard of games that are like living real life . . . you have to eat, work out, get laid, etc . . .what about just living life? | |

I agree with you that if you're someone that does nothing but plays videogames all day and all night and doesn't go outside for excercise or to hang out with friends or to do SOMETHING ELSE then i can TOTALLY understand what the problem would be....but if i'm with someone *and i don't spend all day playing games* and they can't handle me playin a game for an hour or 2 then they need to figure out what is wrong with them that makes them so damn needy....orrr once again....to NOT BE SO BORINNGGGGG ! now i gotta say that one day me and my friend went to the arcade downtown here and played DDR *Dance Dance Revolution* for 7 hours straight....BUT in my defense i got a complete body work out and i could barely walk after we decided to stop.... | |

Posted: 10/3/2005 10:44:37 AM | Uhmmm... I used to be great at Pac Man! For me, I sit in front of a puter all day at work. Would prefer to get off my butt and do something more physically interactive outdoors. Paintball anyone? I think that would be fun.
I wouldn't be opposed to learning to play, I just don't know anyone that is a big video game player. | |

30 something boyfriend was playing video games
I would think it was kinda a red flag or juvenile
because the woman can go home and see their little stinky brother
sitting at home on the floor playing games too
and this is a parallel you do not want to make
maybe the 30 something "manboy" and the little stinky brother would make better friends?

Some males just do not know when to grow up and be a grown up. I think when a man plays with the video games a woman can not compete with it because it can't talk back to you. You are in control of the situation at all times. I have learned from experience to run when I have to compete with the videogames. | |

It's like GT ^^ said, it's more about the issue many women have with not feeling like enough time is being spent with them. It's about balance I think. While I love to see a live sports event, I am not keen on watching them on TV. I don't have a problem with my guy watching them. I'm either reading a book or working on one of my many other projects. I don't mind interacting during the commercial break. | |

Posted: 10/4/2005 7:13:28 AM | Wow, never had a bad reaction yet. I manage an EB Games and basicallly get paid to know all about and play video games, and most people (including women) i meet say they wish they could also have a fun job.
The problem doesn't lie in the fact that you play them, but a woman wants to know that playing video games isn't the ONLY thing you do.
Basic rule of thumb: Never give up hanging out with women, or your friends, simply to play a video game. Don't let playing one ever make you late for work, or put off your responsibilities. And if you find out that you have not even been outside at all during your days off, you have a problem, give them up and Go ensure you have a life! | |

Man if i had a girl so in need of attention that she wouldn't talk to me just because i played videogames than she's pathetic and she needs her own life ! playing videogames for days in a row, missing/being late for work, skipping out on your friends to play video games is when gaming becomes a problem...but heaven forbd if a guy plays a game for 45 mins while his gf is busy doin somethin else ! i think the women complaining should chill out about "competing" they games aren't another woman and it's not like your man is gonna stat dating the games....take a tranquilizer or inhale some chloroform and relax ! | |

We can talk about Halo or Splinter Cell or Spiderman on PS2 and I'm good to go. Heck I can converse about comics (especially Witchblade) and be right on the level. What gets me is when that is ALL there is. Because that's not all there is about me. I love to read, I love music, I love to sing - and I can even get in a deep discussion about future or faith or what ever if the mood strikes. Its just part of a whole. But there are definitely some girls that like video games. Now that that's been said ... I think I'm off to play Spiderman ;) | |

I myself am an avid gamer, its not all there is to me, but I spend a lot of my free time on the computer playing an online multiplayer game for hours on end. I do get out and about however, and do enjoy biking, especially in the early morning or at sunset. I believe what some people are saying is right on track. When it comes time to spend time with your lady or spend time on a game, I will most def be with my lady. The game cant love you and uh....do the uh.... kinky stuff that your lady can do
I do however have a little policy. If I spend most of my day doing something that I dont enjoy, then its a day wasted on my life. Video Games are one of those things that keep you young. Im not in a rush to become an old coot. my dad is 39 years old and he still plays games. He also works a lot doing stuff like construction or as a security guard and such. His 13th anniversary to my mother will be in november. Anyone who stereotypes people that play video games as immature needs a little lesson. Its all about doing a fun activity, whether that be sports, video games, hanging out at the library, watching tv, or just taking a walk. Im not the type who gets into mundane brainless convos about he said/she said or some soap opera renedition. Im alive and Im gonna enjoy it. I can say this.... youve heard it before but Im gonna say it again, YOU WILL NOT FIND HAPPINESS BY TRYING TO FORCE SOMEONE TO BE WHAT THEY ARE NOT. If you cant accept some aspects that are part of people, then you are going to be pretty lonely and unhappy when you do finally get in a relationship. Nobody is perfect, but it is our little flaws that make us endearing.
On a side note, if games ARE all there is to you.... then its time to get out more. They wont give you the love and caring you can get from a person. shape up and make an effort.

I bet there is nothing a lady would like better than to cream a guy at his favorite game and go " you got beaten by a girrrrlllllll !!" heheheheheheh if ya cant beat em, join em ^^ but hey seriously though, games are fun. everybody likes pac man tetris mario and all that. there is a game for everyone of every personality and taste. Its better than watching soaps or infomercials thats for sure. | |
