| what makes a man stand out in a crowd Posted: 10/7/2005 10:08:35 PM | | This brings up an interesting phenomenon, I think. Does the same apply to men's profiles on line? I was recently at a music street festival, great music actually....well, 2 particular men out of 100's caught my eye. Shame on me that I left without actually speaking to either but the point is, there were at least dozens of good looking men there that day so what about those 2 in particular made me notice??? Is it the same on line??? Is it some type of chemistry, psychic, those thingamajiggers that they say opposite sex partners can sense , just what is it??? Can the chemistry be felt through the written word??? As usual, I have more questions then answers. Has anyone else noticed this??? | |

| what makes a man stand out in a crowd Posted: 10/9/2005 8:27:09 AM | | Presence…….there are certain men that have a presence, or uniqueness about them that will draw me to them. I can sense it without even speaking to them. Unfortunately it’s a rare occurrence. | |

| what makes a man stand out in a crowd Posted: 10/9/2005 9:23:37 AM | What makes a man stand out in a crowd (or more properly what makes his profile stand out on POF)....I always like a picture of a guy with a cat, dog, kitten or puppy. Yes, they really are chick magnets, but only if you really truly like pets. A photo of the guy doing something, like a snapshot someone took of him at work or doing something with friends.
Another thing that makes a guy stand out in a not so good way: mentioning sex in his profile. I'm gonna say it again, guys, we do NOT need a reminder that you "like sex" or see it listed in your interests etc. We are taking that for granted! It just makes you sound like that's your main and only interest, or that you are a perv, so don't do that!

I tend to go for guys who are either laughing with friends (showing their confidence), or guys who are a bit aloof and seem sophisticated (giving me some mystery to work with).

| what makes a man stand out in a crowd Posted: 10/10/2005 12:32:43 AM | I think when there is a presence recognized or my uniqueness. If I were to notice that I drew someone to me because of those things I would fill out my jeans better and look out, I'm standing up, oops!! out in a crowd.
Seriously, a friend of mine and I had this conversation just yesterday over coffee after some verbal intercourse with some women at an indoor flea market. The whole place didn't have 20 people in it because of the lousy weather. Everyone wanted us at their booths because nobody was selling anything. Bearing, eye contact, humor (we had the whole place rolling on the floor), and it just seemed the closer we got to asking them out, the more other women were attracted. So.......let me pose a sidebar. Are women attacted by men already with another woman? My buddy actually said he does better on the dating scene when he wears his old wedding band. I have another friend with young children who attracts more dates on visitation days then any other time. Wow. using a stroller for bait!! I have received advice from female friends to make my girlfriend jealous and I'll get all the acrobatic sex I ever dreamed of. Any comments?

Just a POV... | |

O/T The ability to articulate his thoughts and has a great sense of humour. He stands out by his strengths and has sense of self and know's what he wants. Its not just one thing, its all the little things that make his character and personality.

To answer you question, NO NO NO If a man is with another woman, I'm not intersted. I can do better. Guy with a wedding ring = Kryptonite ....not interested. There are a lot of single men out there. No need to take second place. As for a man with children....lol HELL NO.!!!!... I've already raised my kids...

I agree and am not at all surprised. He, and several others seem to think jealously is a great motivator. I think, like you, it motivates a person with a brain to head for those greener pastures. If I'm with a woman, she is all I think about and making her jealous is a head game. I couldn't be bothered to dive to the bottom of the pond for my wedding band just to measure a reaction. The only women that approached me while I was walking with my kids or pushing them in a stroller where older ladies/grandmothers who wanted to offer advice if they saw me doing something wrong. I read your answers loud and clear.........can do better (no doubt).........no need for second place (exactly).........already raised your kids (it's your time now and I'd have a heck of a time getting any of my 5 kids back into a stroller). Thank you for the reality check. I'm going back to the mall to look for some of those grandmothers because as I remember, they looked pretty good.
