| lonely nites Posted: 10/1/2005 4:16:54 PM | Amy...my kids are teens...15 and 19.The 19 year-old just left home for university, and my daughter got her first job not too long ago. I guess right now,I'm enjoying the peace! But I have been keeping busy...time with friends..planning my first real vacation in years..trying to figure what to renovate on my house,etc... I know soon enough they'll both be flying the coop, and I sure don't want to be sitting around with the cat all the time! | |

| lonley nites Posted: 10/1/2005 5:27:05 PM | I feel isolated and lonely today. You can't really tell anyone that becuase then they just think you're a depressive.
Really though, its just one of those days where any company would be good company.

| lonley nites Posted: 10/1/2005 7:39:38 PM | | sorry leafs I got the handle of the OP wrong. My bad!! But I guess I misfired to another great lady with teenagers. Lucky me! So cool that you have one off to a university. My kids have let me down in that regard. Still hope for my daughter but my son never fit in with tradional schooling. And yes, cats are crappy company when the kids are gone. I guess we both need to go get ourselves a dog. At least they are good company and love to spend time with us. | |

| lonley nites Posted: 10/1/2005 11:51:51 PM | | Every night I am alone. But not every night do I feel lonely. Though on those nights I do feel lonely I watch a good comedy which helps me get through it. | |

| lonely nites Posted: 10/2/2005 12:25:12 PM | | I think back to what my ex-fiance did to our relationship (cheated then sued wanting half even though we weren't married). Then I pour myself a drink and thank God I am away from all that... | |
|
| lonely nites Posted: 10/3/2005 3:21:02 PM | I draw a bath with primerose oils and lilac....throw some rose petals in there, while allowing the bubbles to come right over the tub. Light about a gazillion candels all around the bathroom (all different shapes and sizes) ...listen to some jazz or Coldplay (my new found love) along with a glass of Australian Red Wine in my hand.
That usually does the trick....

| lonley nites Posted: 11/20/2005 8:19:01 AM | | I usualy read , listen to some classical music with some fine wine or at times come on here and chat . . . | |

| lonely nites Posted: 11/20/2005 2:08:35 PM | | I'm finding that I don't do well with lonely nites. I've taken Xanax to get thru the rough times but that can only go so far. I'm involved with someone who has a social life that doesn't include me so I find myself lonely at times. At my age I should have some sort of social life but I've always seemed to be too wary of getting out and doing new things on my own. I'm just now trying to find a way to get out of my shell so that I don't remain clingy and allow my b/f to enjoy his time away from me instead of my always wanting him to be with me. | |

| lonley nites Posted: 10/3/2007 6:08:47 AM | We all have them. I spend them on POF, tv, read, work, eat, hot shower no interruptions, music blaring, rollerblade, bike, phone, housework, shopping(24 hour stores!)....the list goes on. Always something to do. Depends on what I feel like doing.
You are not alone! | |

| lonley nites Posted: 10/3/2007 6:45:19 AM | I used to just sit and watch tv or find a game on my computer to play but now I decided to get out there, I got a Part time job that will have me working late so I'll probably be tired enough just to go home and go to bed.
Heck, nothing like a little spending money, and who knows, maybe I'll meet someone while I'm working :-)

| lonley nites Posted: 10/3/2007 1:02:59 PM | I am alone a lot, but I like downtime - I almost never get lonely, or bored. Way too much going on...I don't agree people get bored, I think they are just lazy. Even housework is something to do, it's just a matter of what people feel like being bothered to do.

You are not alone! Exactly. That's what your interests, hobbies, friends and family are for. Even when you're home all night - there's a ton of stuff to do. An SO doesn't guarantee permanent relief from boredom...

| lonley nites Posted: 10/13/2007 12:46:43 AM | | Usually im too wacked out at the end of the day if I've been very active enjoying the day to worry about being lonely or not. I enjoy my quiet time and personal space. I don't need a woman to make me happy. | |
|
| lonley nites Posted: 10/13/2007 6:32:41 AM | | Stupid Tetris - One of these days I will get to level 7... Yes I will! Three hours could pass by in a whizz and I am too angry at been beaten every time - it's best if I am alone. | |
|
| lonley nites Posted: 10/13/2007 10:28:23 AM | I don't think I sit at home being lonely... I watch TV or get on the forums, etc... Its when I head off to bed that I think, "Welp, there's the end of another night being alone..."
Kind of like I accomplished something...
I guess I look at it like this, there are people out there in this world that can't stand to be alone. They get into crappy relationships or stay in terrible marriages just so they won't have to spend time alone.
And here I am, and I just completed another night of being alone. Go ME!

| lonley nites Posted: 10/13/2007 8:51:12 PM | LOL @ OP. I know that teen-ager thing. I'm sure my son got sick of me hanging around.
~OT~ I pass the time here in forums or on jigzone. I find the puzzles are a way to keep my mind occupied, but not dwelling on memories, thoughts, feelings, etc. Sometimes I write, sometimes I read. (OK, and sometimes I watch too much reality tv...LOL) Overall, I spend a LOT of time on the phone. That seems to keep me in touch with live humans rather than my cyber-friends. There are a few us of that play chess online ~ but even that gets tedious. Forums are a time-waster for me, although I do learn a lot at times here. JMO
