I work with these individuals everyday and let me tell you most seem far more "together mentally" than the average population of beings out there...in fact you could be a friend, a relative, or a colleague to someone who has a mental illness or even challanges ..In most cases , the disability, illness or challange can be some what hidden.
These "people" you refer to in fact do have access , they live and function like any other human being in their communities ...We call it INCLUSION ... In alot of situations; they live independantly like you or I .. or the live in supported group homes.. which actually have computers with internet access .. most can grasp the entire concept of computers better than you or I ..
It's not that you referred to them as being "Mental patients" .. I'm not always politically on ball either .. it's the concept of not seeing "them" as actual living,breathing,emotional beings; who still have the ability to grasp life and live it.....
