| How did your parents find out that you were having sex?
Posted: 7/24/2009 5:28:56 PM | My dad doesn't want to know that any of us are having sex. My sister's are 35, 33 and I just turned 29. I tried to talk about who I was dating the last time and he got all defensive. I mean what the hell. Talking about dating as an adult. Some parents just see you as a "little girl, or boy" even years after puberty, when you don't even look like a child anymore. I find it odd and amusing at the same time.
I could understand the aversion to knowing about sex when your kid is a teenager... But an adult. I mean if we're married, um I assure you we've had sex with that person at SOME point!  | |

In my defense my dad had a pair of plaid pajamas that looked just like those damn boxers, i thought they belonged there. | |

YUCK!! LMAO!! Your mom has got to be one of the world's greatest detectives (I know, most moms are). Talk about tainted evidence. Geeeshh.
OP, I left all kinds of clues about my first stabs at sex- the solo kind.
When it came to the more real, two-party stuff, I took it offsite, and my mom just had to speculate. She never confronted me with "evidence", or inquiry, or accusation, (which she did do when I was twelve, after she noticed that a pack of cigarettes was missing) even after my two daughters were born. And I never admitted that I wasn't a virgin.
And that's the way it sits, to this day.

Posted: 8/7/2009 7:10:38 PM | My guy and I were screwing under a blanket on the couch while "watching movies" long after my parents went to bed. We thought we were being quiet and the TV was up loud but there was some pretty heavy breathing going on. My mom showed up peeking around the corner. In a very stern voice she told us that if we were going to do that, to go into the bedroom and close the door like grownups, and to be quiet about it.
Of course I was so embarrassed there was NO MORE SEX that night. BF kept pawing at me but I was all shut down so he got frustrated and went home.
I couldn't sleep and I couldn't cry. It was awful.
My mom came in around 6am and sat down on the bed. First she gave me a really stern talk about doing that openly in the house in front of other people. Then we talked about stuff like birth control and safe sex but mostly about my feelings and the nature of sex in a relationship. It sounds great but it wasn't fun, I was blubbering and crying the whole time, for like 4 hours. My mom really hung in there.
We went to lunch and had a great time.
Then there was this private parental powwow on the phone all afternoon. I couldn't stand it. I was afraid to face my dad, but he just came home and smiled in a way to let me know that everything was OK.
Never heard from that guy again! | |

I hope my daughters (ages 11 and 6) never keep diaries, because even though I was so mad at my mom for snooping, I don't think I could stop myself from doing it to my daughters. I won't purposefully look for it, but if I find it, I will read it. | |

Also I had a strange smile on my face. Of course I was mysteriously gone all night too. She knew alright. But first she smelled it. Wierd. I didn't know women had that good sniffers.

She didn't give me a hard time or anything, even applauded me for "being careful". Of course she did throw in a comment about that being the one time I cleaned up after myself as a teenager. | |

Posted: 9/1/2009 5:27:52 PM | I was over at my girlfriend's house (I think I was 16). The house was a split level and we were in the livingroom (their livingroom is 1/2 way underground). My mother arrived about 15 minutes early to pick me up. When she came to the front door she had a clear view into the livingroom and saw me with "my hand in the cookie jar" so to speak. We weren't having full on sex yet, but my mother decided it would be a good idea to buy me some condoms.
A couple months later we had sex for the first time and used a condom. The condom was strategically hidden in the kitchen trash upon completion of the act, but we forgot to grab the wrapper, too - doh. I'm not sure which of her parents found it. After they had been home for a few minutes, we figured out that neither of us picked it up (from the same livingroom as above). We went to get it before they noticed and it was gone. I think they had assumed we were already doing it anyway. Her mother would always cough before coming upstairs and then stomp loudly and slowly on the way up when we were in my girlfriend's room. I still talk to her parents sometimes even though it's been 17 years since their daughter and I broke up. They were even at my wedding. | |

Well, in my case it would be after my ex-wife gave birth.

Dad, not sure what'd he say. Although given the fact that when his sister got pregnant at 16, his parents acted like it was a funeral (locked the doors, closed the blinds, his father bawled his eyes out, needed the town doc give him a shot of tranquilizers), I can't see my dad taking it all too well. | |
