| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 7/30/2006 9:40:01 AM | UK... great footage! ya... that baby sounded pretty happy to me... an open wound is what all baby boys should have around their little penis to urinate and deficate in until someone changes their diaper and it heals. circumcision is POINTLESS. | |

I have two boys, did a lot of reading on circumcision before deciding, he11 no! hehehehe Why would I allow someone to cause any sort of unneccessary pain on my baby, really. With all the research I read I came to the conclusion that these are the following reasons why a person would do it: -it's normal, lol everyone else is...... -following a religion, hmmmmm........ -to look like daddy...wow -or because of the "look" of the penis when he's older, seriously
Everyone has the choice to do what they feel is right, it's their child after all but I found it to be an unneccessary procedure.

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 7/30/2006 1:14:43 PM | | can you imagine going from the comfort and quiet place in your mother's womb, into this world with bright lights, lots of noise and a doctor who is chopping off your foreskin? boys ought to be able to make this decision for themselves when they are old enough to understand self-mutilation. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 7/30/2006 1:22:59 PM | | My decision was easier than most. Didn't believe in it, unnecessary pain and the cleanliness issue is malarky. Fortunately, dad was born at home and was never cicumcized, so the little bookies that said a good rule of thumb is kids matching dads supported my decision. Dad also remembered the way my stepson screamed during the procedure so he supported my decision as well, whoohoo. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 9/30/2006 6:28:32 PM | It's funny I got involved in this conversation with a neighbour the other day.
My philosophy is/was, natural conception, natural pregnancy, natural birth, natural baby...
Women don't get it done, why do men?
Enough said..... | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 11/27/2006 12:34:27 PM | | I prefer sleeping with men that are uncut. I prefer the more natural way of doing things. My son is not cut. Many women will eventually get breast cancer, so why not cut off the breasts of teenage girls?! Just joking. LOL. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 11/27/2006 5:59:29 PM | | I didn't even think about circumcision until my dr asked me about my plans for my son. I told her the truth about it not entering my mind and she told me all of these statistics about it not being necessary and how infection occurs as much in uncircumsized boys as it does in little girls. So I opted to not have him circumsised. Never had a problem with infection and I doubt he's going to stand out because where I live state insurance dropped circumcision as a procedure they will pay for unless it is in fact medically necessary so less people are going to have it done. This passed about a year after my son was born so there will be many boys in his age group who are au naturale. | |

Cut if you feel the need to. Get a doctor that is reputable.. that you've been referred to by other parents and that, in meeting them, you can trust.
If you feel the strong urge to leave it be.. then do so.
I PERSONALLY would cut. I know the best doctor in my area, have met him face to face, and still would WITHOUT A DOUBT do it.
I've been with uncircumsized men who know how to clean and take care of it, and others that haven't. I have to take care of my own... you need to take care of yours. If from a young age, there isn't someone to remind and teach those procedures, you aren't going to be able to teach them something that is so important now and later in life. Be prepared, whatever you choose.

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 11/28/2006 9:09:39 AM | | My son is not cut. The research his mother and I did indicated no good reason for circumcision and some benifits to remaining intact. I'm kind of pissed now that I was cut as a baby without any choice. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 11/28/2006 8:38:49 PM | | Its all a personal belief.. geesh.. some people will argue to the bone why you should and others why you shouldnt. Do what u feel you want to and what you believe in...... This is nothing to argue over.. that would be like arguing over religion.. holy.. some people prefer to get their sons circumsized some dont.. get over it.. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 11/28/2006 9:52:04 PM | | One of my aunts recently mentioned that two of her family long time friends, at age 55, had it done because of medical reasons. That being the case, it would have been better if it was done after they were born. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 12/4/2006 9:22:17 PM | Well, look at history. The Jews did it to distinguish themselves from other people but GOD also used it to keep them disease free. It is common knowledge that circumsion helps keep the penis healthy. Yeast is a common ailment with women because there nice warm wet vaginas is an ideal place for bacteria to grow. The forskin would also serve that person if not removed.

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 12/5/2006 6:57:14 PM | For everyone discussing this topic, please visit nocirc.com It is an amazing resource for information. There is no medical reason for automatic circumcision and there are often misguided doctors recommending circumcision in later life. If there isn't a problem, don't fix it. If you live in the United States, less children are being circumcised then used to be. But, like anything else, miseducation or parents who say 'i want it to look like his dads' will lead to this surgery. It is good to read up, because I have run into health professionals that aren't familiar with uncircumcised boys and they recommend very 'strange' things. Please visit nocirc.com There is no special care with an uncircumcised penis. Basic washing and drying is all that is needed. Everyone has an opinion and I am not against peoples choices, but please educate yourself. | |

| Circumcision...To cut or not to cut? Posted: 12/5/2006 7:57:27 PM | I read physician's reports that convinced me of doing it for health reasons. As an added bonus, I'm glad we did it because I just think it looks wierd otherwise and school's hard enough without the other guys on the team giving a kid grief cuz his willy looks odd.
I'm also glad because now that I've changed 14,000 diapers I can understand how difficult it would be to keep it clean in there. I can't imagine how hard it must be when you're working with one thats uncut. Ugh. I do NOT think the cleanliness issue is bogus..not at all. Anyone trying to change a diarhea diaper on a squirming infant knows why. It ain't easy getting in there. | |
