stewart is starting 20th, johnson 32nd.
stewart wins if he finishes eighth or better

Posted: 11/21/2005 7:57:23 AM | RaceChik ~ Well this is with such a heavy heart... that I sat and watched a really awesome race with lots of entertainment and drama. I must congratulate you dear on Tony's successful Championship run, he did it! Fair and square... he is the 2005 Champion.
Jimmy stepped on his weewee big time... he knew for ten laps something was wrong. A spotter for Biffle even said his tire was low... Gordon when he was coming to lap him said it was low... but he pushed it further... cost him a chance... dont think it would have made a difference, but he let the Hendrick camp down.
But now what about Carl Edwards! If Gordon does retire, I think Carl has a newfound club member! I just hope he can keep his head about him with all the new fame and fortune that will fall his way. He races and appreciates all those around him. He has FUN doing it! And he laid out a game plan yesterday and stuck to it... and I wont fault him for going for four tires vs two on that last stop. But there was a point where he was only 3 points behind Tony. Sure wish he could have won the race.... would have made it at least interesting!
But ok ok ok ok ... finally, Again RaceChik ~ Your man won his second Championship! Congratulations to the entire Gibbs organization for this feat! They had the most consistant car the last 21 races... with 18 top ten finishes. And thats how you win Championships!!!
But dear... remember, DRIVE FOR FIVE for Gordon next season. Like he said last night, he already has 10 races in the book for his run next year..... he will be TOUGH!!!

But did you notice the chill from Tony when Jeff did that! LOL Even tho he was in the middle of an interview, could have said thanks. Even Allen said something about Jeff coming up...
This was for Zippy... he deserved it after the hell Tony put the entire team in 02' and thats from Tony's mouth... most didnt know Tony almost walked after last year. I talked to RaceChik about it cause I had talked to Tony in Ft Wayne when he was there racing a midget. Glad he stayed around for another year huh!!! LOL
Hey RaceChik ~ Tony is scheduled to drive for Mike Dedorchek in the famous "Munchkin" midget at the Coliseum in December. I think its the 29th and 30th... believe its a Thursday and Friday this year. Should be a LOT of fun!!! | |
