In the heart is where racing is at,,,most seem to forget that,,,in mostly any sport,,let alone racing!

I knew that Jeff would win and I wasn't even thinking about the whole Hendrick thing. But Nascar is rigged anymore and it always seems to sway toward the Hendrick stables.
Jeff's girlfriend is just a show piece! Nothing more! For the sponsors!
Atlanta~My thoughts.......DEI is strong there.....Truex will be up front all day with Tony, Johnson, Martin, Edwards. Jr. will be up there but I fore see him falling out mid-way.
Just some thoughts!

So you think I'll win the cup huh? Well, I certainly hope my driver does!! He's on his way! Got a small 15 point cushion right now but we're heading to Atlanta where DEI and Hendrick run pretty good. But I see Tony up there with them and winning!

I scanned through most of the 6 previous pages, but it seems you are all picking Stewart to win the cup. I have to admit, as much as I hate to, that he has been on a tare for most of the 2nd half of the season, and has carried the momentum right into the chase. However....My pick for the cup is Jimmie Johnson! It all comes down to chemistry and Jimmie and Chad Knaus have probably the best driver\crew chief relationship in the buisness. Yah....we all know Tony and Zippy are good, but lets face it if Greg did something wrong, Tony would want to knock him off the top of the pit box. Didn't anyone else hear Tony say last week that Biffle was his friend, but he'd like to strangle him? Tony is a hot-head and cooler heads will prevail...... | |

Look for him to get a top 5 if he doesnt get involved in a wreck! Glad to see others NOT jumping on Tony the Kitten campaign! I think its down to maybe three ... Stewart, Johnson and Newman... Martin is slipping away! He is my sentimental favorite. Mayfield is a good guy but dont think he will be there either.
So I guess Racechik... will have to pull for ........ pull for...... Hmmmmmmm....

Were you talking to me? No, I didn't get to see the race this weekend or the post-race interviews. I had to drive to Louisville to see my uncle who has been in the hospital for awhile. But HighGear told me some of it. I'm sorry but in racing, friends can turn to foes quickly. And I don't care if you are teamates or not. When it comes down to the last few laps, it's every man for himself. Hendrick boys or not!
I haven't heard anything about Bobby being unhappy at Gibbs either. Where did you read that?
Tony says what he means, backs up what he's says and speaks his mind! Nothing wrong with that! At least he doesn't constantly whine and cry!
Your so-called "respect" for teamates would be out the window if 2 of them were racing to the line! No doubt about it!
Just my thoughts!

Yah I was talking to you....First things first though, I am sorry to hear about your uncle. I hope everything is going to be o.k.
I agree with your "every man for himself" comment. Jeff Gordon proved that at the end of the race when he was asked over the radio if he would let Johnson lead a lap for the 5 points. His answer basically was if the 48 could catch him he'd considor it, but he wasn't slowing down for him....
I read about Bobby on Nascar.com.....Bobby says he will honor his contract, but has been contacted by Petty and McMurray's car owner. (Sorry,can't think of him).....I got the impression that he wants out of Gibbs, but will honor his contract.
Teamate respect should be out the window if they are racing to the line! Have to admit though I was a bit surprized by Jeff's answer to the 48 leading a lap.....He is partial owner of that team.
If you haven't figured it out, I am a huge 24 fan......And all I can say to you is Thank-you! I have enjoyed the heck out of this.......

RESPECT. everyone knows that you can race with tony and not have to worry about losing a bumper. then when it happens, everyone makes a big scene. at least tony doesn't cry when he doesn't win. can't say that for the hendricks girls. i think jimmie johnson should be jeff gordons girlfriend, they are so much alike.

I bet it is interesting on race day there! Sunday here is a blast too because my oldest daughter is a Jr. fan and my youngest daughter is a Stewart fan! But none of us like Gordon!!
If you read through a lot of these posts then you might notice my motto is............
"Anybody BUT Gordon" !!!!!!

I have seen Tony take off quite a few bumpers! Now granted most of the time it was either revenge or simple hard-nosed racing but he has had his share of faults. The biggest thing to remember is that when Tony screws up he ADMITS that it was his fault. He doesn't try to blame someone or something else like a lot of the Hendrick girls!
