Posted: 10/26/2005 6:45:54 PM | Well, I would watch for Truex, Edwards, Stewart, and Johnson. They will all be up front. But on my fantasy team I have Jr. picked. I hate to do it but he is due. DEI tested there and ran well. So we'll wait and see.
Now of course I want Tony to win but you can't win them all unless your cheating!! LOL

I personally think DEI needs to go back to the drawing board. I like Jr. but that organization has shown almost nothing this year.
I personally think if it isn't the 20 or 48, watch out for one of the younger guys in Atlanta. Have to admit that Denny Hamlin has impressed me the last couple weeks, but my thought is Kyle Busch. | |

Posted: 10/27/2005 8:13:23 AM | Hey Racechik20, Just let it go, o.k.??? Don't worry yourself over fools that just feel the need to type something and then have a further need to piss someone off. You said your piece and everyone, (except the MScreant, perhaps) follow what you're saying.
As to the race season, (or unseasoned as it were) I'm glad that Gordon (known here on the east coast as Butt-Boy) isn't in it. And I hope that J.J. won't come close.
With Hot-lanta this weekend I'll be rooting for Jr. to show that he's still capable of blowing out the field on the big tracks. But also some sentimental favorites would definately be Mark or Rusty. They've showed their feelings for the sport, and usually will take the blame if they're wrong about something they did on the track. They don't sit back and whine about other racers. [a.k.a. Smoke in last weeks race] "Rubbin' is Racin'" to quote a great movie.
I WAS a big fan of Dale Sr.'s and have collected more than 40 of his die-casts, and now I agree with another here, that it's all about the money. (I'd be glad to sell them all, but I can't seem to part with them) Maybe if Jr. would concentrate more on his driving ability than making the next jeans commercial, he would've been in the chase, but maybe not. Who's bright idea WAS it to swap teams with Mikey??? That guy should be fired!!!
Well I said my piece, (mostly) and thanks for the use of your soapbox. I'll be sure to ship it back with a fresh coat of varnish.

Most of us on here are only joking around. And I don't take much personally. As long as it's not a direct insult to me then I don't care what people say. Well, hang on...maybe I do. If someone comes on here just to start trouble then I'll have my say and move on.
Anyway...I think Jr. might take Atlanta but Tony is my driver. I don't think he whines. I think the Hendrick girls do enough whining for all the drivers!
Nascar has turned into "Cashcar" as several call it. I hate it but it's happening.

But this week at Atlanta, look for all three DEI cars, or will they put Paul in one too... they will be up front. Truex is running the race sponsors car, so look for him to garner the win if at all possible.
As for Jeff pulling over so Jimmy could gain 5 points... couldnt do it. He wasnt close enough and had Jeff pulled over, Tony would have gotten them both! Cant risk that. Had they been on a mile and a half track with a 20 or 30 car length lead, then I a msure Jeff would have done it... but not when they are just one or two car lengths from Tony... Its still about wins and Jeff wanted the win last week. I think Tony was smart in not bumping Jeff, as he is now in the lead in the points and knew everyone else was behind him. He touched Jimmy just enough to loosen him up... perfectly acceptable by Nascar standards. Anything goes with two to go!
Bobby does want to leave... but not sure there is room at Ganassi racing. Next year they are bringing up David Stremme. Mistake in my opinion, but he will be a third team. McMurry in the 42, Casey Mears in the 41... is Stremme in the 40? Or are they bringing in another driver for that ride?
Bobby Labonte is in the same situation Terry was in at Hendrick... more of a test team for their primary driver Jeff. Bobby is testing for Tony... sad but true. Now Hendrick is putting forth and effort to help Jimmy... will it get done. I dont think so. I think Tony will win it if he can go into Homestead with any sort of a lead.

MARK MARTIN HAS ANNOUNCED THAT HE WILL BE DRIVING FOR ROUSH RACING YET ANOTHER YEAR!!! There seems to be a problem finding someone that would be an improvement to the team. So Mark will be in the #6 car for one more year. Then it'll be Kluefler (sp.???) and the primary sponsor will be AAA. Thats the automobile insurance company, not the anonymus one... LOL
Thanks again for listening to my rantings and ravings. ALL in good fun, huh??? Is that a new concept??? hehehe

I agree with everything you just said except Terry being a test guy for the other teams. I think they just didn't have the right people in place . As soon as Brian Whitesell went to work for the 5 and 25 there performances started to step up.

Hmmmm.....playing in the leaves is a good one too! I was walking through them the other day and I love the sound of them crunching under my feet! I was shuffling through them too! I'll have to keep that in mind when I get ready to rake the ones in my yard! Thanks for the idea!
And there is nothing wrong with having fun! Nah~ I don't think that's why you are alone. You just haven't met that special someone who likes to have fun too! Your only as old as you allow yourself to feel! It's fun to just play around and act silly!!

McMurry is dating Rusty's daughter and has also driven Rusty's Busch car.... and Rusty wants to have his son in good equipment so I can see a new team, Rusty Wallace Racing! In the future... in the future.
But what I would like someone to tell me, what was Roger Penske smoking when he signed Sissy Busch. I dont really like Rousch, but Jack provided much better resources than Penske. Busch is cutting the hand that feeds him.
Oh almost hit send before letting you know about Terry... Terry drove the #11 so they would get back into the top 35 in points. Leffler wasnt getting it done, plain and simple. After they got in the top 35, they gave the seat to someone else. | |

I'm pretty much a Gordon fan, but that probably goes back to the fact that I'm a Chevy fan. Have been one since Junior Johnson in the 3 and Rex White in the 4. Got to see them both win at AIR. And that was back when you could look at a car and tell what kind it was. Both guys won in Impalas. And they didn't have all that multi-colored Sponsor crap on their cars. Slugger was released... wow, why do they always put the blame on the crew chief... well I guess it is their responsibility at the track. But what about the weekly car work in the shop, the body shop, the engine shop... take an entire team! Slugger will land on his feet tho. | |

Posted: 10/28/2005 11:12:19 AM | | Sinjia~I don't know what the circumstances are that lead to Slugger being released, and I do agree with you about the crew chief always getting the blame, but With the new Chase format I think that a driver and Crew Chief have to have that special chemistry. Right now I can really only think of 2 teams that have that chemistry that I mentioned and they are 1 & 2 battling for the cup. I am a huge 24 fan, and although they did manage to win one championship together, I was never a fan of Robbie Loomis. Even the year Jeff won the cup with him, it was basically because they got such a big points lead early in the season. The 2nd half of that season was not good for them at all. | |

Posted: 10/31/2005 11:59:48 AM | Hey Racechick.....I really like Chad Knaus. I think he and Jimmie have one of, if not the best driver\crew chief relationship in Nextel Cup. What impresses me is the ability to improve that car throughout a race. They don't always start out good, but are usually there at the end. Ray Evernham and Jeff had that same sort of relationship. They just understood each other. I don't think Robbie and Jeff really ever had it.
Ya know.....Tony and Zippy seem to have it also. Maybe those two just understand each other on a MUCH different level!......I mean come on!.....Look at the matching haircuts! LOL!
Or the comercial with Greg coming out of the porta potty wearing a white bath robe. Now my question about that is......Did he and Tony sleep in the same place? They didn't seem at all surprized to see one another.........LOL!

My thought after that comercial was.....How come Tony was going in there? I thought he was supposed to be clostraphobic? Hence the whole Hans Device saga of a few years ago.
I don't really see the looks comparison with Jimmie and Chad, but I give my sister S#*@ about Tony and Zippy all the time. She is probably NH's biggest Stewart fan. Even has the cursid coke machine with Tony on it in her kitchen..........I think she was adopted! LOL!
