| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/18/2005 7:40:01 AM | | (puts hand up) yep it's true I can't cook well unless it's out of a packet and has instructions on the back. I baked cakes from a mix the other day and forgot about them and left them in for hlf hr when they came out and cooled they went like rocks hahaha. It's not so much laziness but I live alone with my son and he is still so young that he doesn't really eat much so I feel it would be pointless spending so long in the kitchen. Also I'm vegetarian he isn't. I must admit I have problems timing all the diff things that go into doing a roast something always goes cold lol. I think it may also be because my mum was never into cooking so I had no1 to encourage me hmm I have thought about cookery classes :) | |

Damn and here i was thinking i could find a loophole in that.. im sadly one of those girls that is a horrible cook! thank god for chinese take out

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/18/2005 11:21:49 AM | :-) Thankfully i can say i honestly can cook to save my life and very well i might add.
I have a list of people (ex's, family and friends) that can second that..
I feel sorry for women that do not care to learn to cook, even though it is there choice. Cooking saves time and money. There is nothing as gratifying as when my man tells me he loves my food and everything i have cooked tastes great!
A well thought out meal at any time goes a long way..

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/18/2005 5:40:20 PM | I am a good enough cook to fry my own a**. LOL
You might as well call me a one dish wonder..
I do a decent enough job at a few things to set expectations.
I'll do great for the first couple of home cooked meals I prepare, but then they will start to wonder why it's always the same thing. LOL

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/18/2005 5:47:03 PM | I grew up in a family full of people who loved to cook! My mom could whip up the most delicious pies..mmmm... I've also taught both my son and daughter how to cook.. And,when my son was home from university last weekend,he was telling me that he knows more guys than girls that know how to cook( I think they all learned how,so they could impress women!) | |

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/18/2005 6:49:43 PM | I can cook a mean roast beef when I want to and a passable spaggetti and meatballs. I'm self taught pretty much, and used to concoct all kinds of stews and soups. My X used to say they were awful, so my son who used to love eating them made like I was making them sick. I stopped cooking after that, making only mac and cheese and saved the involved cooking for special occasions then.
My first attempt at a turkey dinner many years ago, was hilarious as I had thought it was already prestuffed, but that was just the gizzards bag left in the cavity. My sister's b/f dropped by earlier to check how it was going, tried to stick a fork into it and discovered it was still frozen after being in the oven about 4 hours, then he found the bag inside. We didn't eat supper till about 9 that night. I was already a tad inebriated, and laughed through the whole thing!! Lucky I own a dishwasher too.
This past Thanksgiving wasn't much better either. My newly installed oven burnt my turkey to look like a deflated football....guess the cook malfunctioned ....again.
I'd love a man that cooks both in the kitchen and in the bedroom....mmmmm

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/18/2005 7:00:05 PM | ;;Oh and a tip for the guys/husbands, if she cooked and is doing the dishes don't come up from behind and grope her, instead grab a dish cloth and dry.... you probably increase your chances '' I bed party essential increased his chances ''loads'' by understanding this simple law LOL Great advise | |

Doesnt mean I wont relinquish the cooking duties from time to time. Relationships are all about balance

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/19/2005 12:33:58 AM | Kitchen - hobs - owen ...never looked attractive to me although I was fully aware that the way to man's heart is through his stomach
Anyway, got married but not able to cook. So hard and so harsh. Big turn over happened when he was not able to cook. From walking skeleton he turned into a man no-one would think something was wrong with him.
Yeah...that dosage of to mix in makes wonders and tastes scrumptious
buzz
P.S. Could wine & dine you

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/19/2005 4:11:52 AM | I'm a student... I cook alot of oatmeal. LOL
Normally I'm a good cook, but I usually don't cook for men I'm dating until months into it. I get really nervous cooking for men, it's alot of pressure. I like to see a man cook though. I think it's attractive.

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/19/2005 7:06:37 AM | I can cook well when I have time to put some love into it, I cook amazing. I'm about the same way. However, time is severely lacking, generally.
What about the MEN that can't cook to save their lives? Shouldn't they be expected to cook?

my chioppini is to die for!!!
Is chioppini a new dish Olive Garden is serving?
I have the fire department on speed dial and know most of them by name. If I had to cook to save my life, with no microwave or can thing... I am going to die. Luckily, my man can cook... and he doesn't even have to use a microwave! I didn't know that was possible until he came along!

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/19/2005 10:16:42 PM | I don't think its a matter of can't cook... It's the not wanting to or refusing to do so, part~~ It's just a matter of following directions on a recipe.. it doesn't take some special talent, at least I don't think so--although I had a roommate that burned everything, including toast~~ I just think she didn't want to cook, because she was usually trying to impress her BF when she did cook...

| Women who CANNOT cook to save their lives Posted: 10/20/2005 8:19:25 AM | I will never claim that I know how to cook. I have about five dishes that I'm capable of making that taste well. GUess I should add two more for a whole weeks worth. (Non-packaged stuff) And I make a fabulous salad. LOL.
Seriously I love to watch a guy cook. Major turn on for me at least. lol I hate washing the dishes.. Sounds like unequal duties. I'll dry the dishes, clean all the floors and do the laundry in the house not to do the dishes once.
