| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:41:57 AM | I wouldn't go rushing to answer yes. If you do it only once in a long while then maybe you should say no but add something in your profile saying the real frequency. I personlly wish they would change that selection to give you a frequency option.
Myself I probably smoke dope about once a year and have never done anything harder. If I put yes then everyone will think I'm a hard core drug user which I'm definately not. Around here many many many people smoke it and come from all walks of life.

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 10/5/2005 9:52:47 AM | What is the point of only doing it once a year? Why not just not do it?
I'm not being a bitch just curious, since I don't do drugs and think they're all stupid..haha that sentence sorta contradicted itself. 'I'm not a bitch but you're stupid'...anyone want a tshirt ?!

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 10/5/2005 10:03:53 AM | take a look at my profile. I don't care if the whole world knows that I smoke pot. I set a goal to get high everyday. remember that only god can really judge you so it shouldn't matter what other people say. Just remember Bob, smoke your joints, roll your blunts and enjoi life. God wouldn't have put it here if he didn't want us to find all the ways to use it. | |

What is the point of only doing it once a year? Why not just not do it?
Around here its a very common drug. Taken in small amounts it fun to smoke it and as long as not done regularly there is little harm. As to why so infrequent, I usually have to drive home or go somewhere when people around me are smoking. I don't care for it enough to go out and buy any (or grow it myself which is what many here do) so I only have it when a joint is being passed around. A couple of tokes is all it takes.
I get drunk with about the same frequency. Personlly I don't see much difference between the 2 drugs. At least with pot I'm not hung over the next day.

Posted: 10/5/2005 11:59:01 AM | | ha, seems everyone can make a big decision whether do do drugs or not, all on their own, but can't make a wee decision about whether to post it...that tell's me that they are more concerned what other people THINK about what they put, is more important than if they should tell the TRUTH about what they do....;)

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 1:51:34 PM | good god...next thing ya know people will be announcing that Cocaine and meth are not drugs either...geez...
Aside from prescription drugs everything else is a drug....and yes "weed" is a drug and it doesn't matter how much of it you smoke its still drug use. There are those who claim they only smoke "weed" once or twice a year...that still means your a drug user. The only way you can claim to be a non drug user is to not use anything the doctor hasn't written you a prescription for.
If you use anytype of banned substance its drug use.

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 2:08:48 PM | OH MY GOD, YOU SMOKE POT??!?!

I tried to say no to drugs but they didn't listen.

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 3:00:13 PM | A person who uses pot twice a year is a drug user? You obviously lack intelligent reasoning! First off, i know people with LEGAL prescriptions, who abuse them on an hourly basis. They are "drug users"! So being legal or illegal has nothing to do with it. Second, i've been to california 3 times this year, that doesn't allow me the label "californian", why should it be different. Third, your own brain is constantly recieving drugs, whether it be advil, tylenol, or SUB 100 I.Q. pills. All of which are fabricated in labs. Marijuana is a naturally growing plant, which at the time of use, is usually less chemically altered than your legal ciggarettes, or your keystone beer(which i'm guessing played a role in your physique). The problem is your neandertholic mind, which is apparently not able to spot propaganda. Simply put, "YOUR A FOLLOWER". Followers need to follow, not lead. Drink another, then go to bed. DOCTORS ORDERS! | |

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 3:56:16 PM | | ^A salesman for the National Organization of Reformed Marijuana Laws, yes? And another POFer with a know-it-all attitude, striking at people who disagree with his OPINIONS. No need to be nasty to the guy subarusnowplow. Actually, medical experts have identified pot to really mess up the brain. Would I answer yes? If I smoked, I don't know. The honest answer is yes, but if you're doing drugs, honesty is not the top priority. | |

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 4:08:40 PM | | I firmly believe that Pot is a drug, whether you use it once or daily. I never had to ever use drugs, since i watched over my life what drug addiction did to my older brother and how it effected his life. If you do any type of drug, the answer should be yes, so someone like me, can make a wise decision on you and make the choice to know you further. I met a guy a year ago, that didn't bother telling me he did pot, and when he showed up stoned, the relationship ended, and if I knew ahead, i would have told him it wouldn't have worked and not have wasted anyone time or feeling. | |

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 5:37:16 PM | | I think personally honesty is key...to some people it may not be a big deal that you smoke pot occassionally. and then to others this is a deal breaker, and they would rather you be upfront about it, so that they can have all the relevant info. Just like smoking is a deal breaker, so is pot and other drugs. I think it would be hard on you if you left that spot as a no in your profile and you started chatting with a guy that you were really interested in..good coversation and such and he is all the while assuming you are honest when you say you do not do drugs....and he finds out and wants nothing to do with you. Because one you lied and two you are doing drugs. even only occassionally. So just be honest...the police are not going to come and get you because you answer yes. lol. | |

Very dangerous attitude to adopt The number of people hooked on things like painkillers antidepressants etc etc is probably higher than those addicted to heroin The withdrawal is as bad if not worse because of the psychological dependancy
If I had to chose between my partner occassionally smoking pot, and someone wandering through life in a mood swinging daze, I know who I would pick
In saying that, because they are doled out by uncaring doctors they are legal .. .

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 6:00:23 PM | You do drugs, should you mark you do drugs? Hmm WAIT, it's a trick. This is one of those riddles within a riddle.
I say....purple shark.

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 6:30:57 PM | I didn't read the entire post, and I am sure that this has been stated. I must however contribute. Marijuana is a drug. If you smoke marijuana, you use drugs. Should it be stated? Hmmmm....personally I am OK with people smoking pot. But if I met someone on here that said they did not use drugs and then lit one up, I would have to question her a little. It would not be a deal breaker, unless she was the chronic wake and bake type... I am about self honesty. Denial has never made things go away. Why not leave it blank..it can come up in personal disscussions. If I were a pot smoker, I would likely consider it to be nobodies business, until some closeness and rapport developed. | |

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 6:45:10 PM | Hummm... i'd say yes... or you could start off a relationship with a lie and have an even bigger chance that it will fail...
If your going to lie in your profile what else will you lie about ?

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 6:47:03 PM | Weed is NOT a gateway 'drug' to crack or meth or heroin. It is a WEED and it's been used for thousands of years for all type of aliments.
Weed does not cause brain damage, unless it's cut with meth or some other crap.
I smoke pot,I don't party with it and I also have a license to possess, thanks to Health Canada.
(In the 'interests' part of the profile, I've said I smoke up. I don't like the yes or no to the question about using drugs...too vague and open to lots of assumptions.)
Even when I didn't have my license, I smoked up.
I am not an addict. I don't take pills or drink or use anything else. My life is not compromised by my use of it.
Pot is far better for pain management, arthritis, and a lot of other ailments.
How many people are addicted to over the counter pain killers and cough medicine, for example?
I know some people who are so addicted to Tylenol#3 with codine and no matter what they do, how many detox and rehab programs they go to, they still have a really tough time, stopping, completely. Their bodies are breaking down because of the addiction to these pills.
I asked for a CTscan and the works to see if there were any signs of pot having a negative reaction in my brain, internal organs and blood, etc.
I saw my neurologist last week and I was told the CTscan is 100% normal. My doctor also asked me if I was still smoking pot, I said, "yes", and he said,"Great!"
He encouraged me to continue using it.
He and my other doctors don't think much of Rx medications and know that pot is not being considered a 'bad drug'that much anymore, within the medical community.
Unless people know I smoke up everyday, they would never guess from my demeanor and my compitency, what I partake in, at home, in private.
If others are going to make statements like experts say...." Back it up because anyone can claim to know it all without any credentials and then it's misleading info.
I've done a lot of research on the use of pot and I can back up everything.
Just my 2 puffs' worth!

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 7:17:56 PM | Everything is a drug! Aloe Vera is a drug. Ginseng is a drug. Anything that alters the mind is a drug!!!! The question is.......what is a "Drug User", since we all use drugs? I'm saying be honost, not stupid. My last time smoking pot was in 2003, i would not label myself a drug user! As far as benjammin66 goes: What medical experts? Whats the serious damage? I dont think you know who i was even being nasty to. Are you a glue eater since you tried some last year? | |
|
| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/20/2005 7:34:17 PM | Must agree with Benjamin66...there is clear evidence of long term damage from the use of Marijuana. I have seen with my own eyes the demotivation, memory impairment, skewed priorities. I once engaged in a heavy pot habit, and it got me nowhere. The people I know now who still regularly engage are tragic self absorbed people who have no idea how they appear.
Of course, there is also the lack of ability in heavy drug users to stay on topic. My answer to the original post, still remains to leave it blank, and deal with the issue in personal conversations.

| should i answer yes to do i use drugs? Posted: 12/22/2005 4:40:12 PM | do you consider pot to be a drug. You may not have cancer, glaucoma, arthritis, but you could still use it for relaxation in a medicinal way. Then again medicines are drugs & it goes back to do you abuse drugs & how honest you want to be.
the choices are slim yes no & prefer not to say . I think of the people who have their drug question set to prefer not to say are occasional or closet smokers
Why don't we be honest about this last time a cop was at my door he said he knew we were drinkin & smokin joints but didn't care about that so why is it such a big deal if police arent even going to do anything about pot it's just grass it's a plant who was ever hurt by a plant ?
