I cant believe how piss poor the flames played against the Nucks last year.
Then in the playoffs against Detroit.
I watch the Canucks a fair bit coz i am in BC but there not my fav team. I hope Keenan wakes those Flames up.

Well, this town didn't come up with the Red Mile because we were lacking cheerleaders .. that's for sure.

The Flames put us all under pressure.

"I cant believe how piss poor the flames played against the Nucks last year."

what season did you wacth? flames were 4-3-1 against the nucks thats a winning record. 9 out of a possiable 16 points.

and the wings just played great but the sog issnt really a fair way to say the flames were way out played, most of the wings shoot ins where on net flames shoot ins are in the conners. we didnt have our best defencemen for some inportant games in the playoffs. and really it just came down to a bad road record that cost this flames the whole season.

i dont care if your a flames fan our not^^^^^ im not a cheerleader etiher. im a fan. just dont try and pick teams for the rest of canada. leaves (leafs) are not canadas team, im just saying they are far from it. and even more in the distance is a stanley cup apperance. when even all other canadian teams have been to the finals without having to track way back to 1967

habs won in 1993
nucks 1994
flames 04
oilers 05
sens 06

habs have won the cup 8 more times after your last win
oilers have 5 cups in that time
flames have one

plaus many other but we are talking canadas team or at least that was what this is in comment to.

I remember watching games where the nucks outplayed the flames bad last year. in fact there was a back to back home series where the nucks won both 3-1. If you say the the record was 4-3 so be it, i am not looking it up.
"We didnt have our best defencemen"
Sounds like excuses to me. The teams that too well in the playoffs have depth. The flames played poorly against Detroit. I did not think it was there defence. I thought lack of scoring was there main problem. Cant rely soley of Iggy and that was evident was it not?

And who picks teams for the rest of Canada? certainly not i.

ohhh it wasnt just missing reggie, juice play bad didnt have his creative side, no one played well on the road, we freisen was a cancer in the locker room. stuart didnt want to be here. a old amonte, and a useless mccarty. the lack of scoring kinda yeah. it was a lack of being able to finsh. in most gams even though the sog were always in favor of the wings, the scoring chances were quite even and even in favor of the flames.

flames dont just rely on iggy any more.
reg season goals from top line players.
iggy -39(70 games due to injury)
huselius-34 career high
langkow- 33 career high
tangs-22g 59a- 81p thats a career high for him
lambo-20g 26a once again career high in goals
conroy-8g 13a (in 28 games)

well is is the best player in the nhl (dissagree if you want), and for certain the best player on the flames of course he will score more then the rest of the team its part of his job. you see that flames had 3 30 goal scorers, 2 20 goal scorers, then phanuef with 17 goals and 33a. its not just a one sided team.

if ya really want ill break down the nhls teams from last season and tell you who had how many 20 g 30goal scorers and what not.

ok now for the flames vs nucks last season, home and away as in flames home and away
nov 11
away- flames w 3-2
dec 9
home-flames win5-3
14
away-nucks win3-1
26
home-nucks win 3-1
27
away-nucks win in ot 6-5
jan 2
home-nucks win 3-2
feb 3
flames win 4-3
mar 31
flames win 3-2

for a flames record of 4-3-1. winning a home and home series they did but the nucks and flames were a pretty even macth up. nucks scoring 25 goals and the flames scoring 24 goals in the season seriers.

in a 82 game season your going to wacth all the teams get outplayed bad in some games.

ya and where was all the scoring during in the playoffs?...
how many times were the flames shut out?
No offence man but the playoffs is the real season and if you cant produce against the tough teams like Detroit you go golfing early, which was the case for Calgary.
Too many weak spots which is why the flames bowed out early.

When your best players aren't your best players, you're usually going golfing soon.
Just ask Spezza, heatley and redden in the Finals.
Iggy, Phaneuf and kipper can't carry the whole load.
Plus it's not every year the 8th seed takes out the first seed in the first round.
Happened twice to the Wings since their Cup run in 02, so it was pretty easy money this time that the Wings would go thru Calgary in relative short order. At least that's the way it looked to me at the time. i thought Anaheim and Buffalo since last October, but buffalo forgot to show up against Ottawa...

Depth takes care of those times your best players do not perform.
Flames lack it as do many teams.
Look at the teams with solid cycling of their 4 lines. Anaheim a prime example. Ottawa too....when Affie and co are not doing good its guys like Fisher who step up.

"""Depth takes care of those times your best players do not perform"""
No amount of depth will do it when the depth of the entire team underperformed over 6 games.
Huselius 34 goals, 77 points - playoffs 6 games- 0 goals, 2 assists
Phaneuf>>>>>>>>>>6 games - 1 point
Hamrlik 6 games - 1 point
Amonte - 6 games- 1 point;
Conroy 6 games - 2 points;
Yelle - a big fat zero points;
Lombardi 1 goal, 1 assist
Looks like the other team's strategy worked in shutting down whatever offense the Flames usually did have in the regular season...even Tanguay, Iginla and langkow only got 5 goals between them, so whatever game plan they had; it didn't work. Then they got frustrated and vlew the 2 nd last game with a bunch of foolish penalties, and the next game was their last.
I didn't see much of that series mind you, but it looks like Regehr missed most of it with only 1 game in.

You usually need four lines rolling. you're right

last flames shut out was not last season or in the playoffs, so i am not sure what your talking about. lack of scoring was just a great game plan by the wings.

in my books it wasnt a blow out by the wings like alot of people claim. sure games 1,2 and 5 were no disagreement from me there, but winning 3,4 and losing in double ot of 6, which moss had the biggist chance to end it but the puck rolled on end. flames win that game its game 7 and no one knows what would have happend.

i dont disagree with deepth being good, but didnt the ducks really show they didnt need much. 3 defencemen played most of the ice time, no real 4th line. 1 or 2 hot lines a hot goaltending and timely scoring from your depth players is really all you need.

besides most teams in the nhl will be golfing at the end of round 1, only 8 teams will be playing hockey.

flames are now in no lack of depth have you looked at there roster? and the kids coming up from the nhl ready to jump in and play.

yelle isnt a point player if yelle never scores another goal in the nhl it doesnt mean he isnt doing his job.

yelle is a lean mean shoot blocking machine

what other player in the nhl can compair to yelle? that right no other player does what he does.

^^^come back your kidding. The last time Mario did come back he spent more time off skates then he did on them. For ever game he played he sat out three or four.
Stay retired Mario so we can remember your good years. You can mentor Sidney without looking like an old crip.
