Gawd man, watch Coach's Corner.
He purposely stumbles over European names, virtually every week. He mocks Europeans, says things like "Well, look at the guy Simon stepped on, I mean, those kind will stab you in the back all the time..."
Refers to Alfredsson as "Krusty the Clown"... sheesh, I could go on ad nauseum, but really, you know all this kaos. If you don't then I'm sorry...I give you more credit than you deserve.

You can call him a biggot all you want but that doesn't make it so. He also praises many Europeans who play a more Canadian style and rips on soft Canadians. Thats not bigotry thats just desireing good old school "rock em sock em hockey".
You got a problem with that move to Europe!
Cherry support of our troops and his support of women's hockey especially the National Team has done a lot for the success and moral of both. Several years ago his mentioning on air of the deaths of two people I knew who were killed while driving their grandsons to a hockey game was an incredible boost to the parents who were dealing the death of their parents and serious injury to there child.
Cherry is a Great Canadian who has been good for the CBC,Canadian hockey and the NHL. | |

But to think Cherry is one of the biggest reason hockey isnt taken seriously outside of Canada is a bit of a stretch, don't get me started on hockey in the US markets please.
The NHL is a mess right now and its starts with the Owners , The ( im coughing now) the Commissioner , the Players Association you name it, they all have a hand in it.
Wrong guy running the league, too many teams in the NHL, too many fringe players oh man, this once great sport has turned into a second tier professional league. | |

I used to referee hockey in the Detroit , Cleveland and Chicago areas. They Loved HNIC and Don Cherry.
