There's either a ton of Vancouver fans in here, or none at all, cause I honestly can't believe that no one has brought this up yet. Canucks re-sign Lou-ser to a 12 year deal, and his way of thanking them going 0-3 with a 4.55 GAA and a .819 SP through the first 3 games of the season. If you're a Flames fan like me, you've got to be loving this.

Of course we are. Flames are on a tear, you can't deny that. And the momentum is just gonna keep on rolling.

Now, back to Lou-ser. What happens tonight against the Canadians, do they stick him back between the pipes or do they go with Raycroft who actually had a pretty good outing against the Jackets. 1 goal on 12 shots.

Thoughts and opinions?

Oooooh, and who is your leading candidate for starting goaltender at the olympics. As of right now, I have to go with Ray Emery.

I wouldn't don't sit Luongo in favour of Raycroft unless Luongo has a broken back. Raycroft is frikkin awful. I can't believe the Canucks signed him.

Personally, I don't think there's anything more wrong with Luongo than there is with, say, Evgeni Nabakov in San Jose, whose GAA is 3.95 and got pulled against LA ... or how about Brodeur!
Three games does not a season make, or the Flames would have a lot more than one Stanley Cup

I don't care if Lou struggles for the next three months... as long as he finds his mojo in time for the Olympics. Then he can struggle again in March

I'm going with Rollie....he's really who I'd like to see in net with a big Canadian flag on his back, and forehead....other than that...I've no opinion on the Olympics....my mind is currently within the season...and I'm kinda counting on ratherB to keep me up to par....

ps...wtf are Luongo and Raycroft?

pps...lest us never forget that even a spot in the playoffs doesn't seem to last more than one round for those ummm...redmen...

Still taking bets....put your pants where your mouth is people....!!

@Rather

I agree wholeheartedly, Raycroft hasn't been good since his rookie season in Boston. And we all know that Nabokov is nothing without Toskala to back him up, and vice-versa. And who cares if Brodeur blows this year, at some point this season he's going to be THE greatest goaltender of all time. Luongo doesn't get that kind of a pass, and to be honest, as a Flames fan, Canuck fans have always held Kipper under a microscope and gloated about every little mistake he's made. I just want to get some revenge for once.

But at the same time, I don't want that revenge to come at a cost of a repeat performance in Torino. When Canada plays at home this winter, I want to know that we're not going to be second guessing our goaltenders.

I'd hold him under something more like a guilotine...

Bobby Lou always starts slow.

But he seems to rounding into form now. What was the score last night? 7 to 1 for the Canucks. Remember he started slowly last year too, then put up 4 straight shut outs a month into the season.

Luongo opened last season with a 6-0 shutout over the Flames. I'd say that's a pretty good start.

Not surprising the Canucks wasted the Habs last night. It was the Habs' second game of back-to-backs, while the Canucks were well rested. Vancouver always complains about their road schedule but they fail to recognize that they have the best home schedule in hockey.
I haven't done the math yet for this season, but two years ago 28 of their 41 home games were against teams that played in either Edmonton or Calgary the night before. And in 27 of those games, the Canucks had the previous night off.

I guess it was put on by snark doo so lay.

Your golf season must be coming to an end up there fairly soon, isn't it?
I'm in no central WI and, we'll be playing for about one more month.

I wasn't at the game Saturday, but the friends of mine who I spoke to who were there said the pre-game ceremonies were spectacular... particularly the dangling violinist.

I guess it was put on by snark doo so lay.

I have no idea what that means

My Rangers are looking good... Gaborik is just WOW.... Vinnie prospal does the little things... The new kids Del Zotto and Gilroy are fitting in nicely and making Rozsival look even worse than he is, if that's even possible... LOL... Nice having a coach who doesn't accept losing....

Don't think I've ever seen a team go from the top of the heap to hitting rock bottom any quicker than the Flames
Two games removed from their franchise best4-0-0 start they blow a 5-0 lead and lose 6-5 in OT .

Thank you Flames. What a perfect end to a long weekend

Just thought I'd like to point out that the Calgary suffered a loss in OT and have not even come close to falling to the bottom of the heap, quite the contrary actually. Refer to the link above if you don't believe me.

I didn't say anything about being at the bottom of the legue... I said "hitting rock bottom".... and there's no other way to describe a team blowing a 5-0 lead. Read my link if you don't believe me

I was just happy to see them tank so badly. That had to be one of the most embarrassing moments in Flames history

talking about the bottom of the heap, you must mean the habs. boy are they awful. say, is anyone going to a habs game at the Bell Centre? I'm a very nice lady looking for a gentleman to take me to a game. So if you happen to have an extra ticket and would like the company of a very astute and knowledgable huge habs fan, then I'm the one.
Ilove the habs(good or bad) but have never been to the Bell Centre.

Habs' problems start in net. I was at Saturday's game and Carey Price looks completely out of his element. He looked like a junior A call-up filling in on an emergency basis. No confidence whatsoever. Probably hard for the rest of the team to play with any when they see that as their last line of defence.

Was that the game in Van? I know this doesn't justify his terrible play, but being from Terrace and that being his first start in his home province and so close to home, must have got to him. But yeah, he was terrible that game.

And now that we've got a Habs fan in the room, I may as well point this out. Didn't they blow a 5-0 lead against the Rangers last season? :P

I am shocked that the Leafs are so bad. maybe some of the young kids should be playing like Kadri, at least he found the net!

I hate the Leafs with a passion, but even I have to say that the only bright spot that I see out of them this year is there younger players. If Wilson was smart, he'd bring a couple of them up for a few games, see where it goes from there. Worst case scenario, you lose another game, best case scenario, you win some games and establish some younger talent at the same time.

But lets be reasonable, these are things that a rational and sane person would do. Rational and sane is what the whole of MLSE is lacking.
