To me when it happened the first time it made me sad as, there is no romantic interest but the person had given me such support and great advise that it did indeed hurt when I was taken off their list. | |

I don't post a lot in any of the forums, so I can't see that as a reason. If you are adding me to your favourites because you are interested, why not email? I tend to remove people if they have added me and I have never heard from them. *shrug* | |

Be that as it may, I don't use IM (don't really like it, I find IM on this site really invasive and as someone that is always multi-tasking, the IM here makes that hard to do) so therefore, why add me?
Don't get me wrong, I am flattered that for whatever reason someone chooses to add me to their favourites list, but if it is a ploy to get me to email them it isn't going to work lol
I guess I am just not that type.. if there is someone I am interested in, I email them. And I suppose for me, if someone is interested and 'can't' email then I am not sure that they would even be the right person for me. I understand fear of rejection and all that stuff, but that is just a fact in the dating world and especially in online dating. *shrug* | |

there are many who enjoy reading forums without posting....
I have received many mail asking about my views on something posted at the forums...click ontheir profile and...no last 5 posts.
maybe they are too shy to post...LOL.
At the moment I have 4 who added me for reasons better known to them.
We all have different uses for the favourites function.
I add someone..who is a forum pal...easier to email...or some who start great threads or have great posts...its easier to follow them...its not stalking....LOL
As for those who add me some I know some I dont..I NEVER remove anybody.(they remove themselves....I think we should not let it go to our heads..it doesnt mean if they ADD you youre hot..it could be just bookmarking...so they can follow your posts.
I receive far more mail from those who have not added me than whose who have.
I dont bother deleting mail either...the system automatically deletes mail older than 30 days. | |

I have had women put me on their list not because of anything except they know I have went through things that caused me to be who I am and I have had men do it for the same reason. I do take it as a compliment when they do. If a good looking guy puts me on his fav list, I take a second look at him and maybe put him on mine to think about or maybe write if I get brave... | |

yes they can....hardly anybody from my country posts at the forums...
Iam on only 1 persons list from my own country..the other 30+ are from outside my country.
I think Forumist use this function more generally. | |

I don't know how you could tell if someone was following what you post, can't assume that just because they have you on favs. They could have been really bored one day and browsed a squillion profiles and started click, add, click, add... | |
