Posted: 12/17/2004 9:31:51 AM | Unfortunately, the awful truth is, there are none left.... and if there are any they have gone underground. You see the majority of the really good men were, oddly enough, located in Minnesota. But as you all know, there was a horrendous battle to end all battles, during the 'War of the Minnesota Free State'. I lost many a good friend to that meat grinder.... and in the end the forces of darkness took control.... there are still remnants of that once great time in history, but they are few and far between.... You can always tell a former commander of the dark side’s forces by their Wellstone! Bumper stickers.... Some day the glory of the Loon shall rise up again, like a phoenix, in beauteous splendor!
Mourn the fate of a dying breed my friends, there are no truly good men left, they died fighting for a righteous cause! Even though they knew their days were numbered, even though they knew the war could not be won, even though they knew that in the end, death would claim them all, they fought on with spirit and zeal!
If only I had died such a hero.. but alas I was wounded out in the northern wooded expanse..... I was nursed back to health by a pack of wolves and taught how to lick my own ***hole for sustenance.... let me tell you those were the best days of my life....

Yes, but the only one left is off the market because he is waiting to see if he can connect with the woman who now currently occupies the relationship part of his thoughts. *grin*
A comment to whoever said we get worse with age. I have to disagree. I for one have learned a lot and think I have become better. As well, my youthful bad habits have passed leaving more room to study/ponder/question what I feel a meaningful long-term relationship is all about. I have become, through being single and not minding on the most part, to grow more comfortable with myself. My needs have become simpler, perhaps, my expectations have lightened up and my understanding has allowed me to become much more accepting.
What was the question? Oh yeah. My answer is yes. | |

I don't drink coffee so coffee shops are out of the question(too boring for me anyway) I only get to the library a couple times a month, and I don't go to church.(I had to rule those out first because that's the usual responses)!

Posted: 1/3/2005 5:11:20 AM | There are plenty of GML, but they are holding out for a good woman. That leaves the rest of us to spend our time rejecting one another as being Not Good Enough.
The righteous cause I died fighting in was love. I felt it for her, she did not feel it for me. The many reasons given were dragons to slay. Many dead dragons later, nope, still no loving feeling. It turned out the whole problem was she needed someone better. So she went and found a good man, replacing the bad one. That pretty much did it for me.
I was a good man when we met. Now I am not anymore. Maybe relationships are where a good man goes in one end and a bad man comes out the other.
I am not looking for a good woman. I am looking for a woman who likes men and likes sex and likes to have sex with a man, who is generally good natured and not prone to rage and sulky silences alternating in unpredictable tempo. Hopefully she will also not be looking for a good man, left or right, and so will be happy to find one like me.
I think the whole problem is that the Marines are also looking for a few good men, and they pay better.
For further reading I recommend Shaw's "man and superman", in which he explains with good humor how people experience the world resulting from their actions in it.
My follow up question is, are they any good men right?
If a man maintains he is right, and so then she must be wrong, wouldn't that make him bad? Win-Lose.
Judging people right or wrong and good or bad seems like it all belongs to one kind of view of people, which is bound to find fault and assign blame, but does nothing for love and happiness. I would like to see a list of things that makes a good man, that if a man was those things he would be good enough for all the women holding out for a good man. I would like to compare that list to the men who are looking for a woman. I would like to sort this out, get the good ones matched up, and then find some other plan to take care of the rest, so that more sex could happen more often for more people.
If I ever am told I am a good man again, better than her last one, I will run like hell. Those words are the sound of the wood chipper starting.
Good dog, bad dog. Treats, shock collar. Been there, done that.

As long as theyre caring, and loving... thats all that matters... Im sick of people taring all women with the same brush - that we are all only after men with money and nice cars... I met someone off here (internet)... and now? im living with him, and we are engaged... he's an amazing person and i love him to bits... i have never been so happy - he may not be stinking rich - but if i chose to have millions over him - it would never ever match up to the person that he is or the happiness that i have with him. there are good men out there - you just have to find one. | |

The bad guys are the ones that'll be on you as soon as you enter a club/bar/wherever and the nice guy is the one watching you from across the room. Now this isn't a constant in every situation but if you wanna find a good guy i recommend looking in the right places.  | |
