| What are you looking for in the fish pond?????

I was just wonderin' since some of us have been here for a while, what it is we are really looking for? You know,,,,,enquiring minds want to know and all????? I have come and I have seen and I have dated, now I am wondering why we are still here and single? Are we being too picky in our somewhat old age??????? 
Now back away from the hate mail key on the keyboard......it is all in good ha ha ha, some of us are not all that old and I am aware of that.........

Posted: 4/3/2006 10:08:20 PM | Hate to be the only one on topic, but here's the skinny.
I've been separated for a couple of years now and I'm really appreciating the balance that I'm getting by having my daughters half time and then having half time for myself. Many of my friends from my married life are married and its kind of awkward being the third wheel.
So, I've been looking for a way to expand my circle of friends (especially single ones) and this is the first site I have come across which has a vibrant local contingent. I'm hoping to meet some new people and find more things to do when I don't have my daughters with me. I'm here for a good time and hope to meet some nice people. I'm not looking too hard for that special lady, but I'll be sure to pack my net in case she swims by.  | |

Posted: 4/4/2006 12:02:07 PM | Heres what I wrote in my profile when I first joined POF ..It was with my existing profile but I deleted it .It was wrote after someone asked me in an email "what kinda fish are you lookin for " ?
What kinda of >00> am I looking for ? Well I'm NO MASTER ANGLER ( player)but I want just ONE GOOD whopper preferably "sole"!One that has the courage to venture out of the weeds and experienced enough to swim in the open water,both shallow and deep(deep is good but to shallow is no good though) One with only one eye (faithful/loyal) thats got a heart of gold (so I can treasure it)thats so big that its hard to believe I caught it (a pic will help prove it though).One that is so attracted to my "lure" that it WANTS to get caught particularly by me and is smart enough to know it even if my line might be a little worn and rough and the reel has been cranked before ,it reconizes the rod is still in great shape! (how do you do a wink here?)...One that sees the boat is in rough shape ,but it's still floating and it is'nt afraid ,it is attentive enough to either pull the boat to calmer water or at least try and pull some mud n sticks in with it to plug up the leakin holes so that at least we're hitting shore together.One that is'nt going to jump ship just because of some rough water or theres too much sun (I'd be putting a towel underneath and carressing with water) . Then once we are on shore and I'm holding this healthy average sized fish I see its magnificent colours ,how they sparkle and change with every movement , I'm intoxicated by its presence in my hands so much that I'm not wondering about what waters it has swam in.I'm just thankful that those waters lead it to me...........I'll stop there because after the flint and steel...we really get cooking and there's dipping in wine,and getting spicy with devouring and forking going on and things are just sizzling..It may be more than some bot ty ( or moderator)may allow me to post.... Nowwww I'm wondering,,,,, is this descriptive enough ?? | |

That's because you arent looking at the right fishies my dear...
You have to broaden your horizons, and look at the "nice" guys.
We old, round, bald, shy but witty (in print if not in person), and socially awkward types..
