I think the idea of a tatto is hysterically funny. Have sex with strangers while you're unconscious much? Any stranger has sex with me while I'm unconscious gets what he gets! Otherwise: put it in your profile. You know? If you don't want to share that much personal info, then DON'T put a lot of other identifying info in. Will you get fewer responses? OF COURSE! But the ones you DO get will be privy to something critically important about you, and it will save much discomfort later. I don't LIKE telling strangers, but I don't have a choice. I'm not undateable in any sense - but my pool of "potential" dates not only has to like a lot of my particulars and be interesting to me, they have to have HSV. So it'd be less than honest not to put it up front, wouldn't it? As for the not telling - unconscionable in ANY situation. No excuses whatsoever, people.

Any suggestions for this? How do you go about telling someone you're dating who you really like that you have herpes? There's such a stigma even though its not that serious of an issue that many people never even bring it up, which is obviously how I got it, lol... If I didn't care about the girl I probably would just be safe and not tell her (sounds harsh but that's what happens) but this is someone I could see a future with, so I would want to come clean before we got intimate so... help me out here people. You're a complete jackass if you are intimate with someone without telling her that you have herpes. I believe that in some jurisdictions you can get sued for knowingly infecting someone with an STD and you may also be criminally liable.

Really...I disagree strongly with midnightrider...I actually have the info posted on my profile and have had wonderful response...people appreciate the honesty...if midnightrider was aware of the medical information about herpes he would not have this harsh attitude. But to answer your question being posted here tell her right away...that's my policy and it has worked well for me...it gets the issue out of the way so u can move forward from there. Don't be afraid...if she is into u, then u can take the necessary percautions that will keep her safe and uninfected. Honesty and being upfront will get u far further....a life lesson! Have u looked into taking Valtrex it is an antiviral that helps with outbreaks and shedding of the virus...works great!!! Good Luck!

I have herpes, unfortunately, and I always tell the guy right away. I think it's better not to create any false expectations. Trouble is, most guys run away screaming. But at least I'm not passing on an incurable STD.
