This is true. I had an aquaintance once who was a cute, but not supermodel beautiful girl. Her husband was extremely handsome, though, and a good guy too. One time she and I were talking and her husband did something funny, and I innocently said, "Aww, he's so cute."
You would have thought I had said, "He's hot and I'm going to try to have sex with him the next chance I get" by the way she looked at me.

No karma.. Not at all I cared for her very much. and would have gave the shirt off my back and last penny for her..
I would never leve someone for that.. All I am saying is with the super pretty comes head aches.. I would much rather have the average cute to good looking then the knock out. There to much maintenance, so to speak.. besides you rarely connect with them because their attention centered and when that attention fades in time with age they tend to be very bitter people because everything was handed to them for there beauty.. well they never really developed a personality. there insucure because people only want them for their looks.. NOT all .. but many.

She is flattered that I mentioned her in a thread "vanity" I tell ya. She knows I'm not an insecure person, why should I be? I have my own home, make good money, I'm alittle cute. I have alot to give to a woman. So if the shallow post want to continue, it's cool I'm just taking notes and checking out how some of these people are so shallow. And it's the women only if you noticed hehe. What's up with that.. Vanity vanity vanity
Also on another note Laverboy, I loved walking into a room with her, it does make you feel like "The Man" hehe we always got compliments, and I also love it when a friend of mine told me she was beautiful. That was my personal "vanity" but to hear it day in and day out, girl get over yourself already. ---- Just got slapped in the head hehe----- Have a good evening folks, going out to dinner with her now..

Posted: 10/12/2005 7:11:06 PM | well it works both ways.. anyone that says there not insecure at all .. i don't belive.. we all have our sore spots.. as for my case.. and only my case. the looks and attention did not bother me all to much unless it was in a sneeky way... even had fun with it when one guy hit on her. he was like man she is smoking.. i said.. yea WOW!..he said.. this is the second time i seen her here.. (store).. i said yea? man i am gald she is my girl friend.. and laffed. his face got red.. but it was cool..
I think men have a need born in them to defend and this sometimes triggers that.. it is precived as a threat when another man flirts.. and he defends his women.. NOW with that said women hate this i know.. and every case is not a call to arms.. but he can feel this is a threat to my realtionship I need to step up..
LOL just thought i would open up a whole new can of worms.. ^^ | |

Posted: 10/12/2005 7:35:10 PM | I totally agree jimmi we are all capable of feeling insecure. Some people are insecure to the point that they will let external infulences dictate the way they live their own life, that is when I would see it becoming a problem.
what I find very interesting is that when men feel threatened by other men paying too much attention to their women, it is considered "the protective instinct in men just protecting"
but when women feel threatened by other other women paying too much attention to their men the woman is usually pegged as a jealous controlling freak. If we are going to call it jealousy insecurity or what have you, then let's be fair and make it across the board for both genders. ;-)
