I've seen so many people try to rush relationships, both genders and I have a male friends who is notorious for doing it. It doesn't matter if the meeting takes place online, at work, at church or a bar it always takes time to get to know someone.
I'm probably overly cautious when it comes to getting involved with someone and perhaps thats a mistake. | |

Yup,,,there are as many turds in real life as there are online. You could go out one night with your gf's/ buddies, meet someone you think is pretty awesome, then as time rolls on you find they arent who you thought they were. Personally, i think internet dating and dating sites such as this is just terrific! Just gotta use your head insteada your heart sometimes tho and most importantly, trust your gut instincts.
Far as being overly cautious as John said, i am the same way. Ive been on this site since 2005 and have yet to actually meet someone besides at POF parties. Just havent felt 'it' with anyone. Same in real life tho,,,,i tend to always be on the look-out for those red-flags and i admit, i might even invent some that arent even there. | |

It is not a mistake. It comes from having survived life and love as long as you have. Being cautious probably means you subconsciously recognize some of the problems of an earlier relationship and don't want to repeat.

As far as the white elephant in the room, I have an idea.
In my house, when someone makes a mistake, we move on. I think it's time to move on little doggys. Why keep reliving someones pain and embarassment.
On another note. It's not just POF people. Real life people are capabale of the same behaviors. It's just here the words don't disappear in the air once they are spoken.
I'm for giddy up and move along. Not on a high horse here, just keep rolling my eyes at the inability to let things go sometimes.

I started conversing back 'n forth via email and then the phone with a fishy from here. His last name happened to be on his profile and of course, i knew his first name and the town he was from. I dont remember the specifics anymore of the conver, but something he said made my radar go red. Sure enough, he had FELONLY domestic assualts against him. And,,not just 1. He had 4 of them.
I actually did a thread on......Should i tell him what i found?.....or something to that effect in the global forums and i kid you not, MOST of the men that responded, responded with anger that i even checked in the first place. Majority of the women said not to tell him and just move on,,some said yes tell him.
Yeah right,,,ask a man if he ever beat his wife and did time for it AND get an honest answer? Surely you jest! | |

Tomorrow morning when you look into the mirror are you going to ask if you did the right thing for you or him. If it's not for you, you're asking for trouble.
You can work on your form and delivery on why you are not seeing them anymore. Deviating from what you really want or need in the early stages usually doesn't work out. Thinking about this at home is easier than in a hospital. | |
