@mesnafugal:

"Poorgie and joesph, well.... I'm just not going to bother with it tonight, not worth it."

You will not bother with it cause you can't handle the truth. Some animal lovers get too emotionally attached to pets, that is the obvious reason some would value a pet just as much as a person. Pets form a dependancy on its master, so they are just as bad with behavior problems as people. But....

People have a chance to change ... pets can't change on their own they need help more likely. Of course you will say people need help at times, but there are some cases where people can change without the need for drugs or commanded to do so. How can people change? By doing more activities and making a choice to do what is right. Pets can't make a choice to do what is right, cause they are more dependant on its master (pack leader) and need to be given some commands most times.

Tried to rephrase and it kept asking me to log in.

hah. Pets really important.
But, heres my story. when i told my ex bf bout how my parents divorced recently, how me & mom had to deal with our life (all this the first time since 8 months we known each other i told him) i almost cry, but know what he ended? he said this: "i was really sad too when...my favourite dog died, my sister come back from Swiss to meet him the last time...oh my Kyte (his dog's name), i miss u"

So what else could i say?

At one point in my life I'd have said no, but in my travels I've observed something about people. As they get older and their kids move on and don't need them as much anymore, a pet can provide companionship and the dependence their kids once needed in them.

Think about it, a pet and a small child are very similar in behaviours and dependency upon you to provide, teach and protect. A child outgrows you, whereas a dog or cat always looks at you for its needs even in old age, which I think adults that were once parents of small kids feel they need.

You can never go back and see your child as a little one again, but you can get a pet.

Poorgie... WTF??? I can handle the truth... and the truth is that people view pets differently. That is something I can accept and obviously you cannot. I somehow missed your little comments to me and I'm so very sorry not to give you someone to argue with but as I said, I don't have the desire to continue this stupid back and forth crap with you. You have different ideas about pets and that is fine, just let people have their own thoughts and shutup about it. You are doing nothing but trolling for attention and being pushy and argumentative.. get over it dude!!! People like you make me understand why so many people put their animals first!!

It is called a discussion, and if you think I made no contribution to this subject you are pretty much wrong to many people who say animals are not as important. Saying that I am looking for attention? Oh my such a petty thought. I happen to make some good points about animal behavior and why they can't obviously be as important as humans and you try to put blame on a human who does not deserve to be blamed... that is called the blame and discredit game and has nothing to do with the discussion at hand.

I love animals,i volunteer with the SPCA.Ask yourself this.If you have food and you see a hungry pet or a starving child.(There isn't enough to share)would you give to the animal or the child? If you say animal i suggest therapy.People are more important. If only we loved our fellow man as much as our pets, what a loving world this would be.

imcookin, we are in total agreement. I was going to approach from a different angle, but exactly my thoughts.

My angle: someone is holding a gun and tells you a stranger (human) or your best friend, oh Lassie, has to be put down. What's your choice?

If only we loved our fellow man as much as our pets, what a loving world this would be.

And if our fellow man only loved us as unconditionally as our pets do what a loving world this would be. You get what you give.

^^ No, I would say the man was smart too!

The "diamond is a woman's best friend" is a clichè. Everyone knows BOB is a woman's best friend.

I once ended a relationship over a dog, then moved back home and ended up getting rid of the dog anyway. I was 22 back then and now like to think I've wised up a little since, although, there are certainly some people I can do without.

Anyone heard the song, "Two legs good, four legs better"? I don't remember the artist. It's funny as hell.

Nope they are probably not. But at the same time, how you treat pets shows a great deal about a person as well; from fear to love, caring to sadistic.

There was a study that linked cruelty to animals to phychotic minds commiting even greater acts of cruetly against people as well.

I absolutely adore my pets. When I had to put my cat to sleep a few months ago I couldn't stop crying. I felt so terrible. I stayed with him till the end, poor little man.

If I could live my life surrounded by 100 pets I would, but for now I settle for a dog and a cat.

Pets are important as people are. I would do anything for an animal to help rescue, nurture, care for it as i would for a human. Presently am caring for a cat of mine that i have chosen to accept day by day right now. He has a 50-50 chance of surviving. Been diagnosed with diabetes and kidney disease (go hand in hand). He is alert now compared to a week ago, where he was staring off into space and lethargic. Some people have said, oh the money, oh i wouldnt put so much effort into an animal..blah..blah..just because the cat is not a human i wouldnt provide less care.

I will do whatever it takes for this cat who has given to me unconditional love and acceptance in my life. Who has been there when i have been ill or feeling down. The day i brought the abandoned cat into my life, is the day i took on that responsibility to be his human guardian. For me its the same as one whom has children - it is called responsibility.

And i would never give up my pets for another human being. Have known friends who have done this and years later great regrets as the man they did this for-is no longer around, nor did keep the word on what was promised.

Personally had a few relationships where they didnt last..why???? Because i have cats. I was asked questions such as "if i were to buy you an engagement ring, would you agree to get rid of some of your cats..my answer was a definite no - didnt need time to think that one over - shortly afterwards those guys at one time in my life (different times) were never seen again.

If someone had pets, in their life before i existed, i would never, ever expect them to get rid of their animal for me.

Pets are as important as people!! All animals, wildlife are important!!

My dog is everything to me. Actually, animals in general are everything to me. I couldn't imagine a world without them. Every single one of them. I love my dog just like he was my own child - well, he IS my child, but I mean actually giving birth to him...? lol Nevermind, I know what I meant.

My ultimate goal in life is to open an animal sanctuary, where I'd care for any and every animal I possibly could, be them sick/disabled, or healthy.

Hello Jazmella:

part of your paragraph below:

My ultimate goal in life is to open an animal sanctuary, where I'd care for any and every animal I possibly could, be them sick/disabled, or healthy.

Its great to see that other people have goals out there to help animals. I have always
said the same thing - that one day i would like to have the land to take in/care for the animals that desperately need a place to call their own. I would be content living somewhere in the country with land to call my own to share with the animals and wildlife.

I guess i just wanted to let you know that there are many other people out there in this world who care and would love to do the same thing for the animals. Hey, maybe we could all live in the same vicinity one day..our own neighbourhood of animal loving people

When an animal becomes more important than another human being, something just isn't right upstairs. Animals are so much less than human beings, I couldn't ever compare them. It is apples and oranges.
