| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 5/3/2006 11:51:13 PM | Are pets as important as people? well... there definitely nicer than people? I never wonder if my dog loves me... You just know it... plus dogs have the advantage of not being able to speak... they never say mean hurtful things... being bitten is almost more civilized than the way humans treat each other... are they more important? probably not. but maybe they should be... | |

Posted: 5/7/2006 11:19:02 PM | I had to find a home today for my Pet We had him since he was 6 weeks old gave him to a new Mommy today at age 12 it is very unfortunate that society does not want to include pets in the living enviroments anymore. i guess many do not see a pet as theraputic or a family member.
I think some pets are More important than people and i know that i am sure going to miss my little Man....

i love animals and if i had to choose between the dog i love and the man i like and "could" grow to love
yea i am picking the dog lol
with time a dog or any animal becomes so much part of you and getting rid of it would be so damn sad
i think for most people its like killing a friend and who does that? huh c'mon lol

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 5/8/2006 8:25:40 AM | Hey all. I have 3 pets. 2 dogs, Lexus, and Baily( both German Sheppards), and a cat Beaubule( she is majorly over weight hehe) They do wonders for me. Pets know when their parents are sick, depressed/sad. My pets are like humans, they eat the best, all my friends say 'your pets are treated better than some human folk" I recommed everyone to take a pet into their care and just see how they affect your life. When I come home from school my pets wait for me at the door and greet me. makes me feel on top of the world.
love all | |

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 5/8/2006 1:07:43 PM | I love all animals. As a kid I brought home every injured or orphaned animal I ran across....wild bunnies, birds, chipmunks, dogs and cats. Those that wern't returned to the wild had a permanant home with me (thanks to mom & dad)
The last 15 years I've owned dachshunds. "MY KIDS" as I refer to them. They are my world. Mutual, unconditional love. Hard to find when dealing with the human species.

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 5/8/2006 2:50:25 PM | I think I'd sooner use my best friend as a sacrificial lamb than use my cat or dog for the same.. My kitty sits in the ceiling and stares at me while I sleep through a big hole and just purrs, which despite being a little creepy at times is cute as all Hell.
Yesterday my snake decided to venture out of his hide and check out every inch of his terrarium and I was way more than pleased considering he is just a juvenile and still skittish. I just sat right inside my door staring like so :D
Bla bla bla... All that being said, I wouldn't say that my pets are more important than my friends and family, but I certainly consider them a PART of my family.

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 6/23/2006 9:50:46 AM | Wow.. are pets more/as important as humans... i'm not even going to try and reason with you people on this one.. People have feelings and so do animals. But you can't hold a conversation with an animal and if you do.. there is help.. I have a dog that i love very much so.. but i do not think of her as my fellow man.. It's people like this that kinda make me mad... instead of fixing the problems you have with people you will back off and get attached to something that 1) ages alot faster then you 2) has 23 chromosones not 46 3) doesn't understand one word that you said to him while you were baby talking him to death.. sure they can comfort you... but if u need an animal to get comfort in ur live you have more issues then just being a dog lover...
by the way kayla just turned 14... and i see her as a best friend.. but not my only best friend

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 6/29/2006 2:40:34 AM | I've been dragging home some critter or other ever since I was a little girl. I could not live without an animal, my home would feel empty even with a crowd of people. My latest pet I have had 15 years. She's a Lovebird named Sherbert. Fall before last I actually died, but guess God had reasons for allowing me to stay. While I was ill my bird also became ill. The vet didn't expect her to make it. The veternarian assistant concluded that my bird was wasting away in grief over me. Where in all of God's green earth could I ever, ever find such a loyal friend??? She's lived beyond any Lovebird the vet's ever seen. I didn't tell him the Lord had healed her twice before. There is going to be one huge hole in my heart when she's gone. I'm grateful for every moment that remains...Pat ~thecryofthewolf | |

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 7/5/2006 3:20:08 AM | | i went through some physical abuse as a child and a rape as a young adult, my recovery was through my animals. the first time i had ever felt any type of love in my heart for ANYTHING, was for my greenwing macaw, who always knew when i need a birdy hug. as stupid as it sounds, the love an animal can give you is so genuine and so true and it can only be taken away through death. unfortunatly she did die and broke my heart, i wasnt the same. so i ended up getting a blue and gold macaw and another greenwing macaw, they are my heart, they are always there cheering me up, they actually will sleep on my pillow and they are there when i wake up from the nightmares i always have. all humans have ever done is hurt me over and over again, especially men. anytime i trust my heart to someone they stomp on it, my parrots are always there. i dont think its a bad thing to love a pet too much! especially when they teach you to love. i really miss savannah! now i know what it truely feels like to love something that really loves you back. maybe one day i will find a strong love with a man, that wont break my heart, i have so given up. least my macaws will be there to comfort me. | |

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 7/5/2006 8:06:36 AM | | I have to say I know how you feel I have 2 dogs right now but at one time the most I have had is five .....animals are the best companion I think they are the most loyal to you ..... | |

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 7/5/2006 8:09:41 AM | | I these times I would say they are though a dog dose not bite less he has been given a really good reason to .... there are no judgments with a pet for what and whom you are nor do they think made if you screw up baddly ..... | |

Absolutely not. That's just insane. They are PETS. Cute, funny, usually fuzzy little companions.
I prefer cats. Very hassle free if you're not totally nuerotic. I've had a few before, have one now, and will have others later. I loved them all, but they are just pets. Not child substitutes, not 'something that will love me unconditionally', not a faux buddy who cannot betray you...or any of that other pathetic BS.
They're just pets, nice to have around.
I'd trade every critter I've ever had for good folks in a heartbeat.

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 7/5/2006 8:06:01 PM | | I totally put my dog before anyone else. Now if I were in a commited relationship, then got my dog it might be different, but since i have had my dog so long, I am willing to pick her over any person i get into a relationship with. Mostly because if they tell me to get rid of her, then I am getting rid of them. | |

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 7/5/2006 8:48:34 PM | I guess that depends who the people are. If I had to give up my pet or my mother the pet would have to go. If I met some woman who did not like my pets then she would have to go. | |

| Are pets as important as people? Posted: 7/5/2006 9:28:56 PM | | My ex-husband had two dogs when we got married, he still has them. They became a sore spot in the relationship and I have to admit, I lost out to the dogs on almost every occasion....I'm not interested in being in that position again. Not that I don't like animals, I just think love between humans should not be compromised by pets. | |
