| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/21/2005 8:03:26 PM | Of course! Although if you have anything black or leather (or both), I'm sure you can come up with a costume. | |

http://www.badmovies.org/movies/rockyhorror/ Check the images section. It's a good sample of the kinds of costumes people will be wearing.

| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/21/2005 8:16:52 PM | Tim's Curry's career stalled because of that part - "typecast". That happens. Anyone remember anything Bob Denver did after Gilligan's Island?
Meanwhile, Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon especially, have done exceptionally well. Official website http://www.rockyhorror.com/

|
| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/21/2005 11:18:13 PM | I say we go out beforehand... trying to think of the places in the area. Um... anyone in Kensington/Sunnyside wanna help? Molly Malone's, Yardhouse, Kensington Pub... say 9pm? then we can all get our tickets early, go and get silly, and see the show at midnight. Or is that too early?
As for costumes, you probably have everything you need at home already. Plus, don't forget to bring 'props' (see the websites I've listed before for a complete list) - I'm sure most people will have some toilet paper, rice or old newspapers lying around to bring along, and I'll see if I can bring some extra cheapo noisemakers too.

| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/21/2005 11:21:15 PM | edit: UPDATE! :)
Everything is allowed at the Plaza - this is a 'free for all' show, however property cannot be damaged in any way, or the scene (so basically no throwing stuff at the actors, other visitors or the screen please).
Since this is a Green Party fundraiser, a great friend of mine who ran the last election is selling tickets. I can pick a bunch up tomorrow from her, they are $10 each. Anyone want me to grab a ticket for them, and you can pay me back when you see me next?
ALSO, anyone who cannot attend because of funding issues, please email me privately; the Greens want everyone to be able to attend, and have an excellent offer in order.

| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/22/2005 7:45:48 AM | Wow, I disappear for a few days and the thread goes nuts! Way to go Alberta.
Tonight is the night peoples!
Show up early at the Garneau if you want to get tix. Show starts at 11:59 tonight, but they usually wind up turning away 100+ people at the door because they run out of room in the theatre. Best bet is to show up really early to get your tickets and then go out for a beer or three before the movie starts.
Some questions & Answers
Do you have to dress up? hehehe.. Well, I am! I'm going as a much skinnier version of Eddie. Dressing up isn't required, but definitely makes things much more fun!
What can I dress up as? Anything from the movie goes. Or, just find some lingerie or (for shy people) pajamas to wear.
Props? OMFG, yes! They even sell prop kits there. Bring a flashlight, a few playing cards, lots of rice, a page from a newspaper, party hats, noise makers, a piece of toast, a roll of toilet paper, a rubber glove... ok, I'm sure I'm missing things here... look at the website, they'll have a full list.
What is a virgin? Well... if you're asking the question, then you are.
Hope to see everyone there!

| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/22/2005 7:47:41 AM | | Oh, do NOT bring water guns or water balloons. That will get you kicked out super fast. Also, they frisk you at the door, so no weapons, drugs, alcohol, small pets... whatever. | |
|
| Rocky Horror Picture Show? Posted: 10/22/2005 7:54:44 AM | Also, don't bring any open flames, that's a big no-no.
and most importantly, leave your inhibitions and bad attitude at home.

I love it!!
A long long time ago I used to act out Janet in front of the screen with a bunch of other actors. Nothing better than the Janet chase with a half naked man behind you and 300 people. All I could think of was not falling down and being trampled!! LOL
