| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 10/31/2005 8:27:59 AM | NH Guy ~ ya gotta admit, those Earnhardt fans are loyal!!! I just bought a rear bumper for my truck and it had a Dale Earnhardt Sr bumper sticker on it... I asked the guy for a discount or refund... we both laughed! Of course it was the first thing to come off when I got home to polish the ol bumper! And then pasted a 4 time Cup Champion Jeff Gordon sticker on!!!
But the point is, we're all fans of someone, even if its just to enjoy racing. I am glad that Dale Jr has fans and the support he needs. Every driver needs them. I dont like Scott Wimmer as a driver, but felt he got the shaft from Davis Racing this week. They told Scott he had the ride for next year... then four weeks left in the season they tell him he is gone! Now how does Scott expect to get a seat for next year... I hope he does... but its his fans that will rally around him and help him feel better in an otherwise dismal situation.
And then there is Tony the Kitten... LOL Sorry, had to do that just for RaceChik! I bet she is going through anxiety right now... Tony didnt look too good yesterday! Mark Martin and Carl Edwards were the boys... with Gordon in the middle!!!
Cheer on your favorite driver anytime!!! We might pick on ya a bit... but its all in good fun... at least from my end of it!!! I just love racing period!

| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 10/31/2005 9:39:32 AM | Sinjia~Ya know it's funny you bring that up.....I got into a pretty good exchange the other day with Racechick and Alarm. I am new to these forums and don't know anyone on here. I have actually been on POF a lot more since getting involved in them. I am a huge race fan, and obviously a huge 24 fan. I absolutely love razzing fans of other drivers, and expect the same in return. I love babbling off stats and having people say, "how the hell does he know that".....Anyhow, I got the impression the other day that Alarm was getting a bit agrivated. I don't know that for sure, but I hope not. For me it is all a lot of fun, but don't think for an instant I won't dish it out. Good thing you got that sticker off your bumper. Don't want to bring the value of your truck down. My NH Vanity licence plate on my Monte is TWENTY4........ | |

| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 10/31/2005 11:06:43 AM | NH Guy ~ I think she knows that we're not that serious and razz each other. She loves Earnhardt... not sure why... LOL But maybe we can convert her to a Hendrick car!
Bet that made her day!!!
See ya... | |

| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 10/31/2005 11:08:49 AM | NHGuy, I'm afraid I must argue with Sr. being arguably the greatest of all time. He may well have been the best marketer, but he fell a few wins short of Richard Petty. In fact, Petty's 200 wins may stand forever. And they came at a time when there may have been as many as 60 cars starting any given race, and many more races were run on short, bullring tracks, and dirt tracks than today. Not many of today's drivers would have lasted back then. But welcome to the forum. Your contributions are well received, and well thought out.

Sinjia~~~~~Nope! No anxiety here!! Tony has a 43 point cushion now from Johnson!
Gordon still gets boo'ed!! All the time and everywhere he goes! Not only that....he gets cans thrown at his car!!! Loved that!!!!
Jr.'s time is coming! Next season.
Missed ya'all! RaceChik20

| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 10/31/2005 4:04:56 PM | Yep boxy Petty's 200 wins will never be matched. That was done back when there were over 50 events a year, racing several times a week. Took a tough man to do what he did for sure, taking nothing away from him in anyway.
Yes some of those fields were huge and most were shoe string operations and he had the luxury of having Chrysler in his pocket when most were hobbyist or did not run many of the smaller events. So in many cases he was a shark in a pool of goldfish.
The cars were cruder, safety was an after thought and rules were loosely enforced or non existent.. Again taking nothing from the King, it took a tough man to accomplish what he did. Persistent ulcers during those days. Eating lots of dirty from the many dirt track events, all the travel time etc.
So comparing 200 wins directly with any of todays records is not a direct correlation. Even one of those wins came under protest. He won the race but Nascar was not going to count it due to some issues with the car. I will have to research the details. my memory ain't what it used to be LOL. At any rate he protested and Nascar recorded it as a win but the other competitors in the same event under the same car issues were not allow to have that race on their records.
The only one close of course was David Pearson with 105 wins. Many races he won was with the Wood Brothers. In those days they only ran limited schedules, missing many of the lesser events.
Pearson was a quite and humble man until he got behind the wheel then was usually a force to be reckoned with.....
Man I got to get another soapbox, this one is totally worn out.
Keep it in

Now please correct me if I'm wrong, but on Dale's 7th championship year, wasn't someone else leading the points untill a career ending wreck????? Please help me out here.....I could be wrong.

| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 11/2/2005 7:34:10 PM | NH Guy, wasnt that the year that Mark Martin lost 25 points for an infraction on a carb or intake... and Dale went on to win by like that many points... dont know if it was Dale or not.
But I do know it cost Mark the championship.

| Dale Earnhardt Jr. Posted: 11/4/2005 7:30:55 PM | I was away for a week on a business trip in Montreal and I have spent a week getting all caught up on my stuff here. It is crazy. I missed a lot of stuff. Apparently the Dale Jr book can be ordered through Chapter in Canada so I was going to see if I can order it on Sunday. How are you doing?
I hope Tony gets back to the front this weekend. I really want him to win the Chase instead of a Roush Car.
