Ok...u quote "i think it goes hand in hand. You can win the Daytona 500 but never win a title and vice versa"....ok...someone didnt do their homework before exercising those fingers...in fact...its been done 9 times by 5 different drivers. Luck? I think not, considering Richard Petty did it an amazing 5 times. Let me give u a rundown...Lee Petty in '59..Richard Petty in '64, '71, '72, '74, '79.....Cale Yarboroug in '77....say this is before our time? maybe so...but heres your others that werent THAT long ago...Jeff Gordon did it in '97 and Jimmie Johnson did it in '06. So with that being said...yes, the 2 do go hand in hand. Racing has evolved (maybe not in the direction we as fans would like to see) so much that its become extremely hard for drivers to win the Daytona 500 and continue such a great streak thru the season that they can hold on to that lead and take the championship. Regardless of who we like or dislike...if your a true Nascar fan..u respect them all for what they do. They, like us, are human and tempers flare, mistakes are made, fingers are pointed, etc...so to judge them from comments made in a heated moment or derive a "i hate him" attitude is clearly that of a deadbeat nascar fan. Now all that isnt directed at u Rush LOL, i got a little off track ...I say just enjoy the sport and let the "boys" be boys!!

I think the can of Amp weighs the same as a can of Budweiser according to the Junior Nation Hand book!!!

Good, maybe the Jr. fans can throw cans of Amp instead of Beer at Jeff Gordon. Ohhh wait, they're on the same team. Dohhh.

I SO AGREE with this statement........................ It's good to have a favourite. But you have to respect what there doing and the road it took for them to get to where they are.
RACING NASCARS!!!!!!!!!. Or anyone of the men and woman who are auto racing. It is a true blood sport.

Dale Jr will do just fine. He is already doing better then some have who have been racing longer then him??????

Even when Jr. switched over to the darkside, he's still not winning any races - and its because of the driver, not the car or the team.
It's been 70 races since his last win (that was pointed out last night after the Arizona race). Jr. made it seem like DEI was the problem and going to Hendrick was the right move.
He's the problem.
Jr is over-rated or he would start winning races. But there will always be diehard Earnhardt fans that think he's everything NASCAR and nobody else. Yeah, whatever planet they're from.
There are drivers that are good like Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch, which will drive the tires off their cars when they're not handling well and try to win races.

That's kinda funny there horneschowoggle. Considering Jr. is third in points and has been the most consistant driver at Hendrick. As a Jr. fan I'm actually surprised as to how well he is running. Its only a matter of time before he wins some races this year.

Carl Edwards please, definitely not one of the top drivers, he's just in a really good position. He's sucked the last couple of years, he wins a couple of races this year and you are ready to recruit him to the Nascar hall of fame. He's nothing more than the flavor of the month.

Please, Points is points...big deal, still early in the season. Burton is first and won a race this season, but I don't think he'll be on top for long.
Carl Edwards is definitely a driver to contend with this season. In fact, if it wasn't for the pit crew penalties, he would of sure won the race in Arizona. I'm not Carl Edwards fan, I just play it as I see it.
Kind of funny that Mark Martin with DEI had passed Jr in the race in Arizona and had obviously, the better set-up on his car...Jr. fading back in the pack, pretty much what he always does - that's his permanent flavor of his career.

Lol... Horneschowoggle your making my point for me. Your downgrading Jr. for not winning a race this season yet, but then you turn right around and point out that it is early in the season to explain why drivers such as Jr. are high in the points. Like you said its early and Jr. is going to win some races this year. He's consistantly in the top 5 week after week. That is the only reason why you notice him fading back, because he's running up front.

horneschwoogle-Watch don't talk to bad about "THE LIL CRYBABY" He is no where that of his farther. His dad could take a bad handling car and make it a top 10 and blame no one after the race but himself for it.. Lil crybaby gets into the top 25 and blames everyone else for it.
Debb- I still don't think I need to worry about the chase and I promise an extra $100,to your charity,if the lil crybaby wins the Sprint Cup this year.

Listen...I have Track Pass and have seen the frustrations that Jr. is going through first hand by listening to his conversations with his spotter and Tony Eury Jr. My personal opinion is that the setups stink half the time and the other half of the time he runs the wheels off that car. Tony Eury Jr. was taken along for the ride to Hendricks because he is a cousin and gives Jr. a comfort zone that may have been non-existent with a completely new crew. Tony Jr. gets LOST very often in the middle of the race and really does not know how to make the car better. He often makes the car WORSE after a pit stop. I have heard Junior question his decisions many times and listened to his frustrations.

^^^^I hope you're joking, because at Talladega, *Gordon got frustrated trying to push Jr. to the front. After he went around Jr. and started getting up front...Jr. just faded away towards the back. Just to add, Jr. caused the wreck shortly afterwards, but DW and the rest of FOX didn't want to admit; they didn't want to offend "Jr. Nation"
*Signs of Gordon and maybe the rest of the Hendrick team disapproving of having Jr. on their team.

Lol. Jeff Gordon will get over it. He got mad at Jimmie Johnson last year at Martinsville for bumping him and now he's over it. His anger towards Jr. probably didn't last till the end of the race.

And DB beginning of the end of the end for Jr. Have you been watching the same season as I have. Dale Jr. is third in the points ahead of all of his Hendrick teammates, and leads the Cup series in top 10 finishes. I bet several of the other drivers wish they are as washed up as him.

Pickme- He has a great begining of the season then goes down hill from there.I don't think he can recover from losing control of his car in the lead with three laps from the end.

IT IS THE BEGINING OF THE END FOR THE "LIL CRYBABY"

God Bless

Kyle Busch should watch his back.
This is the result of the media's big push this season to put Jr. into the lime light; Jr's destiny to win a race. Let's face it, changing teams isn't everything, its the racer.
Now there's this thug attitude to GET any racer that prevents Jr. from winning. The blame for this kind of attitude is pretty much the media and commentator's too scared to admit that Jr. is solely responsible for not winning, but push that it's everyone else's fault, teams and drivers not HELPING Jr win - do they have to spoon feed a baby?
Hey, might as well leave all the driver's out and let Jr. run the track by himself, because every driver MUST get out of Jr's way - he has to win.
This is total BULL.

Don't you notice how often Kyle Busch is involved in the wrecks? ALL THE TIME! And usually he ends up driving out of them because he tends to be the precipitating factor of the incident. He doesn't care who he runs up the wall.
On the other hand, Jr. is having his best season in a very long time due to the team change, I'm glad its worked out so far. He deffinately has a win coming this season.

No doubt would have at least one win thus far if shrub would race with his talent and not with his bulldozer.

To me,knocking someone of the track to win is like a boxer hitting below the belt~it's against the rules because it is akin to cheating
