As for the insults being thrown at those of us who like the pics....... I'm picky about the skin I like to look at......it has to have muscle underneath......... a brain is good........also....personality........sense of humour......... .....also not a whiner.....you know; one of those people who complain about others who get more attention than them........ | |

Personally im a bit self conscious about putting up a shirtless photo,
I dont have a greek god physique ...but one that is good enough to turn more than a head or two at the beach........certainly better toned than some I have seen on here with droopy pecs and love handles......hey its their right to post one ....but Id say to them....
T-shirt , trust me.
Since im not looking at the moment, it doesnt matter..I may post it in the future or I may not.
Does anybody else notice this or is it just me??? the ones with the most negative comments others pics are often the ones who dont post even a faceshot of themselves. | |

I have posted face pics in the past as well as no pics...and have met with mixed results. I am not trying to flaunt anything. I dispay a pic of a faceless torso...if it catches female attention great...makes them read my profile..even better. What I don't do is sit in forums and judge people I haven't met. | |

Showing off ones bod... doesnt allude to the inner workings of the psyche or hidden character that defines our individuality more than the constraints of our geneology, or illuminate the more important factors and attributes that define comlplete compatibility in a relationship. My..."buffness" (depending on ones definition) doesnt allude to how I will or will not treat honor or respect a woman. It doesnt connote my intellectual prowess and acuity (or absence thereof). Similarly, it may or may not be elected to be posted by some one with narcisstic tendencies. It might just be there because the guy harbors hedonistic tendencies as I do, and I want the prospective woman to see what she might have the opportunity of having... namely to be able to see, and thereby visalize... the hard, toned, well kept body that will be hers for her fingers to run over and explore.. and similarly let them know what I in turn offer as a prospective inamorato, and that they better be on par with what they see.
Too bad I cant slice my skull open and show off my 139 I.Q. brain as well... I only bare what I can! | |

As for myself I don't like alot of attention, ( that's why there is no poor attempt for attention,thats why I have art showing.

No different than someone who shows a picture of their Harley because they are an avid biker, or someone who shows a painting they did because they are an artist. Your profile should try to show every aspect of your life so people can get a sense of who you are. If you show a shirtless photo and you are in shape, people can quickly see that this is an important part of your life, and know whether or not this is something you have in common. I really don't see what the problem is. | |
