| male shirtless photos Posted: 2/27/2006 12:28:40 PM | thaddeus makes a few great points... esp. for us 30 something guys.... Im thirty seven... dont go to the gym except to spar, dont do ANY weights, pushups, sit ups... no formal workout whatsoever. Maybe Im showin.. that even age takes a back seat to genetics... if I went to the gym, lifted weights, ate perfectly... Id be a monster like I was before Im into martial arts hardcore...and in my world... speed is what kills... not size so weights are a negative for me... fast twitch is where Im at... so for you 3 hr a day work out and gym ghuru guys: huge kudos to ya, and keep it goin no matter what the pillsbury dough-heads say... but some of us dont need all that, and post our shirtles pics to show why! | |

As someone who has been a study of the "Arts" for more than 25yrs,including 2yrs in Thailand,I would agree Speed is critical..however Power is also a factor..it increases your speed..so weight training is an intricate part of Martial Arts..not to the extent of Body Building..but I work at it to achieve a solid form..as you know "crucial" for taking solid strikes...
OT. 750 Crunches a day...I earned it....
Besides the ladies like 'em....

what's the point of that exactly?
is it to say, "hey, baby, look at me - isn't this just a thrill?"
perhaps....and yes it is.........?!!........

| male shirtless photos Posted: 2/27/2006 6:32:33 PM | | I find a board puts too much stress on hip flexors....so do weighted intensity crunches and cable crunches instead....also some challenging Pilates leg extension things. Seems to work well....if I could only lose all this fat, I would be posting 6 pack pix too! | |

| male shirtless photos Posted: 2/28/2006 2:50:22 PM | I don't think its distasteful if a guy takes a pic with his shirt off.I have a couple,I did it because know offence to anyone but it lets you see what you are getting. Its all about attraction.Alot of women seem to like my pic,but some don't.Hopefully the picture will get your attention then you will read the words that someone puts down before you think you know the person and judge them. | |

| male shirtless photos Posted: 3/2/2006 11:27:10 PM | | my pic isn't here because my scanner is broken and also ,recently I have met a nice guy here who HAD his pic on...I used to have a photo on POF but too many replies made me feel bad when I didn't have time to answer them all-I tried...funny how I met a guy who didn't even know what I looked like-and so far-it's the beginning;but great! | |

| male shirtless photos Posted: 3/3/2006 6:41:52 PM | i decided to to post a couple of shirtless pics...felt kinda stupid / self concious doing it. after reading some of these posts i feel even more self concious. | |
|
| male shirtless photos Posted: 3/3/2006 7:12:50 PM | | No worries Pete. It is very easy to distinguish men that post a shirtless pic for the reasons stated above and those that post a little too much. | |

| male shirtless photos Posted: 3/9/2006 7:35:39 AM | chinua...youve seen the goods via webcam hun.. and Im seein that your "too bad youre so far away" line is still in your repitoire! and ladybugg... youll have to look at the profile to peek my shirtless pics. One note: glad to see that so many are martial arts followers, and the point about speed vs. size is a huge point. Like Madden says about football... speed kills. Ive been training (without any weights or crunches in the last decade, mind you) for 27 years this year, and it was about 15 years ago that I realized that, in terms of physical performance and apllication in martial arts (i.e FIGHTING) that power isnt as useful or as improtant as speed (and those fast twitch muscle groups).. When I was 21, I was 6'4" 225 lb with 4% body fat, I could hack squat 900+ lb, bench over 300 lbs (weights were part of my track n field trainin) and had a great blend of slow and fast twitch development. I was fast as lightning.. and met an 86 yr. old grandmaster in akijitsu who tossed me around like a rag doll. I cut down to 185 (still above my ideal jumping weight) got super fast, and met the sensi again- same result. He taught me that power is irrelevant if inapplicable, as is speed. The key? I aint tellin!! But I will say that it is a fundamental part of the circle of life, which martial arts encompasses. The point Im making? What good is it to look buff, be fast, be strong and have great muscle tone and killer abs... if I can beat your ass? Lookin good is great, but useless if you cant use it. And as a man.. that really boils down to fighting and f ucking.. the two ultimate 'sports' where you better be able to apply what you got...if you got it! | |
