Neither.

Don't sail any unkown waters right now. It's not friendly out there. It might actually cause you to mourn the loss of your ex longer, when you realize what's out there and available.

And, don't let it linger. Write down your emotions. Keep a journal. Then, revisit it once a week. You'll see just how quickly you bounce back.

Time heals all wounds (Once again, my cliche-ness comes out.) but, you can sure help it along by facing your pain.

i compose, write and produce music so you bet that my creativity is in its all time high right now...melodies and lyrical phrases just pass through my head like a breeze...i mean, i have a definite medium to express everything that i feel inside.

and time? time is gray.

From what I can tell, so is what's going on in your heart/mind right now.

yup...honestly, i do everything that can be possibly done to get rid of the "pinch": keeping myself busy through full time work, part-time school, friends, painting, music, working out, etc. but apparently at least 5 seconds of each day will be spent reminiscing the past...it sucks, i want it to go away.

I have to say I'm good at this one. I tend to remember all the bad stuff about a person.

(What they did to hurt me in order to move on to greener pastures)

That doesn't mean that the hurt and yearning to return to them isn't there. It just helps me remember why we broke up in the first place and why it will continue to not work if I go back.

Hang in there sweety time heals all wounds

Deb.

i never think that u can totally forget about someone since it is part of your life.......but i find that surrounding myself with lots of other people helps get past the first little while.

Being a die hard 311 fan, I have two lines blaring in my head right now...

"Remember all the good times, instead of wish-we-could times."

"Sometimes I need reminding, regret is so blinding, but like I told me, don't dwell."

It's all going to take time. From yet another guy who knows what you're talking about. You can try sailing away, you can try stranding yourself on some deserted island, you can try giving yourself an icepick lobotomy (or giving the ex the same, although this is generally frowned upon), but in the end, it's just going to take time.

I would advise you not worry about finding the love of your life right now. Concentrate on just being yourself in the interest of meeting real people you can call friends. I'm sure you've got that feeling every so often that says "**** everyone else. I don't care what they think. The just don't understand." Well, use this to your advantage! Get out there and do what makes YOU happy. It's easy to let your guard down and be yourself when you don't give a shit what anyone else thinks.

Be sincere in all your dealings with others and make sure to use this whole situation as a learning experience. Everything happens for a reason - to put you in the right place, at the right time, and in the right frame of mind. So long as you are real, karma will reward you handsomely imo.

I plan to just do other things... no dating for me for a while! Having fun, flirting, sure...but it might take a while to get over this one.

it's just really tough...when certain groups of people that we know still asks about her...when people ask me"i thought you said she was the one?"...how would you answer to that? when you don't really know what exactly went wrong...yes, i did something wrong in the start but it was fixed and everything was alright...she had a share of blunders too even during the relationship but i let it go..all for the sake of having faith on us...but i guess THE ONE has a different plan

The best way to repeat the mistakes of your past is to forget your past. You are where you are now because of where you were. Life makes a mighty shaky ladder when you're busy removing the lower rungs beneath you. Dang! I should've been an epigram-, an epigrammat...a guy that makes up quotes.

so much good advice, all is true and has worked in the past. my favorite is getting along better without her, that your better without her. I never wanted anything bad to happen to them and wished them the best but it is cool when they are miserable and you are doing great forget her

i am waaaaay better than we were together though. on top of being an active duty military, i went back to finishing my major, went back to seriously working out (i was really chunky then that one of my boys teased me coz he said i look like "jack in the box"---they can't see my neck), i take my other endevours more seriously and i'm closer to my family...all these things she have noticed that's why maybe she can't help but still check me out once in a while....and i hate the fact that i know that she's still checking on me.
