Ok, so here we are again, it's that time of year - "Halloween". Yet another hideous American import. Gangs of kids roaming the streets demanding sweets/chocolate/money with menace and the dreaded words "trick or treat". And then you have people dressing up in silly costumes - but the Police do have a job to do so let them get on with it.
Oddly enough, when I lived in Nottingham and had dogs, I never got pestered by trick or treaters. Perhaps the sight of a big German Shepherd dog bounding down the driveway towards them was enough to deter them from ever coming back - "trick or treat you say? I'll just let the dog out, then you decide". Cruel? perhaps. Entertaining? Oh yes, nothing funnier than watching a group 6yr olds scrambling over hedges and gates trying to get away.
And then, once Halloween is out the way, we have bonfire night to contend with. All that banging and flashing, and on top of that, people letting of fireworks.
But why exactly do we celebrate November 5th? Guy Fawkes failed and was arrested before he could light the fuse, and his cronies were arrested not long after, so the gunpowder plot was a dismal failure.
Of course, back then there was no Human Rights act to hide behind, where as today, Abdul Mahatmacoat can happily walk into Parliment with 20lbs of semtex strapped to himself and the Police won't do anything - "can't infringe on his Human Rights now can we" they would say.
Personally, I think November 5th should be got rid off. The amount of people that are injured raises every year. People suffer burns, blindness, lose of fingers - mostly through the stupidity
of others. And then there is harm done to animals by cruel idiots who think it's funny to tie a banger to a cat's tail - wonder have much these idiots would laugh if someone tied a banger to their tails? | |

peronsally as long as they flatter the wearer then they achieve their purpose, for the admirer at least
peronalli i prefer the sheer clers stockings, nice feel to them
but for heavens sake the inventor/designer of the thick black woolly ones should have been shot at birth, not to my taste lol | |

| Stockings? Hold ups or Suspendered?
Posted: 10/27/2005 5:45:14 AM | I like the hold ups... easier to get off... well apart from the pain involved in peeling them off your skin.
On another note, I had a B/F once who really loved to lick them... he liked me to prance around in my 5 inch heels and stockings and he would follow on his hands and knees just licking the backs of my legs. Relationship didn't last long... I got bored! | |
