Not a thing wrong with tattoos! I have five of them! I think tats are sexy both on men and women! I think tats are just another way of expressing an artistic side. I am with Girl on the fact, head to toe coverage is just not that flattering, but a few here and there can be very sexy!

You know what, you have nothing to worry about, those old tattoos just mean that you were not afraid to show who you really are, I hope actually that you haven't changed that much that you are ashamed of them. Unless the tattoos show something very digrating then I would be taken back a bit, but if it's bad or good, big or small, it's a part of who you are, or were in this matter. Plus a bit of advice, if you still like the whole tattoo idea you can always get another tattoo, tattooed over top of your original design.

PS. If the girls don't like you for the old tattoos that you have, then they aren't worth your time!

I dont see a problem with them at all... The person should like you for your personality not because you have ink on your skin or dont have.

yes, i remember being foolish and getting a tattoo done, but i was 13 years old, and the meaning was also very meaningless, my tattoo means dangerous in Japanese writing, thank god it wasnt in regular writing !!

I have a kanji tattoo... 'cept mine means "Peace".

I got no problem with them.. I have three myself. I've been kicking around the idea of some day getting full body tattoos like a Yakuza just so I'd have an excuse to run around naked. I'm not actually going to get that much tattooing done (that would get mighty expensive, and I enjoy eating), ever, but still...

I may only get one or two more, when I'm actually inspired to.

My tatto has a very personal meaning. I was burned to 70% in an explosion when I lived in a small town in the Rocky Mountains. My tat is a Phoenix in the mountains and to me the phoenix represents a life reborn. I was given a 20% chance to survive after my accident, but I did survive so the Phoenix is the symbol of my survival. I often have people saying to me "why put yourself through the pain of a tattoo after all the pain you went through with your burn" My response is that I did not choose to go through the pain of a burn injury, I did choose to go through the pain of getting a tattoo.

if your life has changed that much don't worry about them. you sound perfect for me.
they aren't that big of a deal as long as you realize they aren't who you are anymore.

I have two tattoos, and they both mean a lot to me. (there are no butterflies/bunnies/dolphins/kittens/hearts/flowers on this woman!) Both were designed for me by close friends, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. No one sees them unless I intend them to--they're not there for everyone else, they're there for me.

If someone chooses to judge me (and it's happened, trust me--how often have we heard the opinion that women with tattoos are automatically trashy? I.E. "the tramp stamp"...) because of them, then I suppose that's their right. That said, I believe that it's neither right nor fair for them to do so--they have no clue as to what my background is, what my upbringing was like, what my lifestyle is, or how intelligent I am.

Personally, I like tattoos. I don't enjoy seeing swasticas or messages of hate on someone's skin--but each to their own. I would like to think, however, that I would hear the reasons behind the tattoos before I judge the person underneath them.

Eric,

In my opinion, any woman that judges you based on your tattoos isn't worth your time.

The experiences from your past make you the person you are today and had you not made the choices you chose, learned the lessons you learned, etc. you would be a totally different guy today.

A mistake is only a mistake if you didn't learn anything from it. What was a right choice at a specific time in your life may not be what you would choose today but that's what life and learning is about.

Any woman worth your time would see your battle scars so to speak as just another facet of you.

You are an open, honest, creative guy who isn't afraid to do things and experience things that others may never have the balls to. And I think those are great qualities to have. If I were you I'd add another tattoo or two to reflect the man you've become and show off your old ones as much as your new ones and be proud...of you!

I love tattoos, I have 12 myself (yes I know that's a lot for a female) and I still plan on getting more( am working on a 1/2 sleeve now). I have no problems with my tattoos, and I don't care what people say. I am a business professional and have to hide them during the day but when I go out, I show them off. I figure if you like them, don't look! I do feel that there is a time and a place for some of them to be seen. If I am goin to a wedding do I want to be flashing my body art? Probably not. I get a lot of compliments on my body art and I love it. I prefer men with body art and piercings, doesn't matter if the are old and faded, I had one of mine covered up and it looks great. Its up to you, but it is part of your past. The one I had covered up was done when I was like 15 years old and was FTW (**** The World), oops a rebellious stage, so you can understand why I got that covered, besides it was a homemade tattoo...

Anyway, life is short enjoy it... Body art is self expression, Express Yourself!

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! I HAVE FIVE TATTOOS VISABLE ON BOTH MY ARMS, AND THREE ON MY LEGS. PEOPLE ALWAYS ASSUME THE WORSE, OR ASK ME IF IAM DYKE!
I AM OFTEN TOLD BY GUYS THEY DON'T WANT TO DATE SOMEONE WHO LOOKS TOUGHER THAN THEM. GIRLS DON'T EVEN BOTH WITH ME UNLESS I'M AT THE GAY BAR HERE IN TOWN. I'M NOT ASHAMED OF MY TATTOOS, I THINK IT'S A SHAME PPL JUDGE ME BECAUSE OF THEM.

I know what you mean....I've always felt that way...I'am a gurl & have a skull tattoo as well as 3 other tatts...but you know what if they have a problem wit the way you look then they have a problem wit themselves....no person should judge another without first judgin themselves...I truely don't care if someone doesn't like my tatts...sometimes I use to think the same thing...but why waste your time on what other people think...your only gonna make it worse for you....It whats inside that counts...if a gurl can't see that...then they are not worth your time...

I have one on my upper arm that women find sexy! I like it when a girl has one on their lower back , bikini line or shoulder. Thats sexy! I plan on getting one between my shoulder blades if I can ever come up with a good design?

Not in the least! Most people have a past & most people change many times throughout their lives. You have just chosen to display some of these past moments on your body. It doesn't matter what someone looks like, whether they are tattooed, fat, skinny, scarred, whatever, as long as there is an initial attraction & the rest is really a test of personality matching. I have 4 tattoos, all of which are very beautiful & mean a lot to me. They are for me and no one else and if someone can't get past that then they should look to be with someone else. It's funny, I have older people in my life asking me "well what are you going to do about them when you are 60, 70, 80 years old?" I simply smile and say "cherish them all the more & remember what they meant to me at that time in my life." That usually gets them thinking and they realize a tattoo is not always what they think. People get them for different reasons and there is always some sort of memory to go along with them. So enjoy your art and if you feel the need to change them, then by all means get them covered up. Otherwise, if someone is not willing to get to know you because of your tattoos, then you prolly don't want to be with them either. Cheers.

Tats are great, on men and women. Nothing wrong with them at all. I have one and am thinking of getting my kids' names on each ankle. If people are judging you because of 'em, that's their prob, you know? I'm a christian and even some of my uptight church friends (oops, can i say that?! ) look down on me because of my tat. And it's a christian themed one! Sometimes there's just no pleasing people... I wouldn' t worry about it, my friends!

Think I'll go have a beer!!

You have to understand that when you get a tattoo its just another feature on your body that your going to get judged for. I would say its like plastic surgery, some people are going to think its HOT and some are going to be disgusted.

There are other options instead of surgery, like a coverup, and Eric since your in london, you should contact Mike Austin he has done some extraordinary work.

I have 5 tats 2 of them are coverups, and they turned out way better than what I started with.

Cheers.

To be honest, i'm very sentimental about my tats. I have both sides of my chest my right shoulder and my stomach done. Each one of the tats is a memory, fond or not. Something I need to be reminded of. Wether or not this is disgusting or unattractive to someone else is and should be of no particular concern to me or anyone else who gets tats for the RIGHT reasons. (which are all in the eye of the beholder I suppose). Some do it as art, decorative stuff, some (like me) to remember and some freaks just like the pain LOL ( I have a friend like that). Whatever you do it for, at least research a decent artist so you do't end up with some shoddy bullsh*t on you. (advice from experience).

Right shoulder : Says "Lost Caue" in curciff script
Left Chest : Dempsey Bloods tattoo (man throwing the Dempsey projects sign outlined in red)
Right Chest : Bible Verse Nahum's book 4 verse 19
Stomach : "Tetra Dyna Sorte" in Flowing Script ( LAtin for the 4 Strong Brothers)
