Not a song so much but still a sad piece of music...

The theme to the old Incredible Hulk tv show with Lou Ferigno and Bill Bixby. That was some lonely and depressing piano playing.

Actually I remember that now and yes, that was depressing, if you know the story too it makes it moreso. I always felt sorry for the Hulk.

Edward Bear - Freedom For The Stallion
Eagles - Desperado

"last kiss" was the first one that popped in my head..."dont take the girl" too...both have already been said....there's so many. This one always gets me.

"One Last Time"
Recorded by Dusty Drake

When she picked up the telephone,
His voice came on the line.
She said: "This can't be happening,"
An' tears fell from her eyes.
She said: "What am I supposed to do?
"I can't handle losin' you."
He said: "I just had to call to say goodbye,
"One last time."

He said: "There are some things in this life,
"That are out of our control.
"Like who we fall in love with,
And when it's time to go."
An' she said: "What about the plans we had?"
He said: "This connection's gettin' bad."
"Now c'mon baby, let me hear you smile,
One last time."

She started to apologize,
For all the things that she'd done wrong.
She said: "I would have loved you better.
If only I'd known."
He said: "You were the perfect wife:
Promise me you'll go on with your life."
She said: "The boys won't understand."
He said: "Tell 'em Daddy loves 'em and, be strong...."

He said: "Honey, I've gotta go."
She said: "Don't you dare hang up.
There's so many things I need to say.
I love you so much."
It was almost like she felt him leave.
She cried out: "Can you still hear me?"
She fell down on the kitchen floor,
When the signal died,
As the pilot tried to pull out of the dive.
One last......time.....

Ok, just read the entire 5 pages of sad songs and I am bawling like a baby. That last song did me in.
The others that make me cry are:
The Little Girl by John Michael Montgomery
Candle in The Wind (Goodbye England's Rose) by Elton John
The Last Dance (Tribute to Dale Earnhardt Sr) by Garth Brooks.

From 1987, "Talk to Me" from the CD titled Under the Volcano by Rock and Hyde.
If you listen to this and don't cry, you are either dead or have a heart of stone.

I agree with Mae B., if you've ever had a friend die from drinking & driving it's a crazy sad song. Too, Helena by My Chemical Romance!

Can't remember the artist

Country song called One More Day. The radio station has used it as a theme song for their fundraising campaign for the Children's hospital of Northwestern Ontario.

And 26 Cents get to me too.

Pearl Jam is one of many many artists that covered this tune.

They most certainly didn't write it nor was it the best version ... in my humble opinion.

One of them has got to be Whiskey Lullabye by Brad Paisley and Allison Krauss.

Oh and Go Rest High on that Mountain from Vince Gill .. but mostly because it has sentimental value. It was played at my uncle's funeral to which: a) I had to give part of the eulogy over and b) my uncle was, and still is to this day, one of my hero's. God rest your soul, C.

WOW! No one has mentioned "Who Wants To Live Forever" by Queen...
"Dark Angel" and "What Is This Love" by Blue Rodeo are sad too.
Ohhh... and anything by Velvet Underground! (The Banana Album)
