Don't knock the ladies that like the little skinny pretty boys. I pick my teeth with them so they are good for something.

Not all fit guys will have a gut by 40.

I'm 40 in December.

I like men that are heavier than me. I am 5'9 not fat but not a tooth pick either. If a guy has an extra 10 or 20 pounds on its okay. Not a big deal...

The guy who posted this question doesn't have a firm grasp of reality. I'm 43 and in better shape than I was at 18. Not everyone lets themselves go as they age.

Now I can see his point if he's talking about fat, out of shape women wanting fit guys. That IS unrealistic........ and it's irritating because it happens to me all the time.

No no no no... Let me break it down for you in a more primitive way for you to understand.

01) ALL women desire Ricky Roids. Bimbos or plumpers. 18 to 80. They are demand that they deserve some sort of pretty boy.

02) The douchebag quality BEGINS when a guy thinks he's the shit and his egocentric personality takes over.

03) The next stage of a douchebag is when he thinks ALL bimboeqsue women are his PERSONAL PROPERTY. he probably starts this warped mental behavior from using too much hair gel on his spikey hair.

04) Final stage of douchebagism is VIOLENCE or IGNORANCE. He he cheats or beats the girls he's with.

Now, I'm not making this up or pulling this out of my ass. This is what I hear from women by being the nice guy they use as a shoulder to cry on at 3am.

Now on the topic of "fat."

Fat is NOT solely a product of LAZINESS. Some people just can't digest nutrients properly anymore. Some people lack the capability of producing enzymes. Some people have a bad thyroid. So, in your shallow mind, they're lazy and therefore should be exiled from society. Just wait. It can happen to you. I had an athletic body up through the age of 32 and all of a sudden my body changed and no matter how hard I worked out, it just wouldn't go back to being athletic.

So, I suggest everyone take off your blinders and start liking everyone and anyone you can for WHO THEY ARE instead of WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE.

Try being a caring loving respecting human for once.

Well I'm 50 and still have a "sixpack". I'm lucky I guess. It's a known fact that heavier people are more prone to health problems. Not to say that all over weight people are unhealthy. I'm not looking very hard as I'm used to being alone. If I did meet someone they would have to be in relatively good shape. I'ld like a few years together were we could do some things and not be pushing them around in a wheel chair or being the bed side nurse. Now if I can just win the lottery I'll be set. lol That's one thing all the money in the world can not buy. Your health.

If you think about it all the fit guys will have a gut by the time they are 40 so why not date a guy with one now and get use to it ?

My co-worker/lifting buddy is 43 and he's in the best shape of his life.

I am going to run my first marathon when I'm one month away from 35.

Congratulations! Just being able to do something like that is amazing to me. I can't run period. But those that can and achieve a goal like that It is mind and body.

I haven't met anyone yet that hasn't had metabolism changes as they age. It is a known fact that we burn more calories the more muscle we have and loose muscle the older we get. It is more difficult to put on muscle and burn the calories the older we are. You can't consume as much food or the same foods as we age. I hate it when someone tries to say it is heredity or that is the way their whole family is. It has been proven that everyone has to cut down on calories and work harder the older they are... If it was easy, everyone would be in shape. Aren't things that are more difficult to obtain a greater reward? Of course it is a goal that you can never stop working at...sigh

I have always preferred big strong arms over skinny ones, but it was the illusion of comfort and protection that I was craving. I did date some skinny men and one was a big time player and one was the most sweet and loving individual, but lived too far. Nothing is more sexy than a man who is comfortable in their own skin and knows how to make you feel beautiful. I did date a guy who had big strong arms, but was wheelchair bound and had a growth disability, and he still rocked my world. He said, Im gonna climb into your heart and make you love me. Unfortunately he did a big nono for me and it was that he smoked medical marijuana, and I just dont do that lifestyle. (and as time has progressed I have noticed that alot of you men have or once in a while still smoke up, no matter the social class nor age) I have dated countless of men with different body types and in the end, its how they worked me, mind, body and soul that mattered. Boy toys are only good for that, toys. So they dont always get the girl, and aren't interested in keeping her either. But my preference will always be big teddy bears with strong arms and warm hearts. Although my current one is in between so I might have to fatten him up, or take him to the gym to pump up. Either way, change to be healthy, but not because you are self conscious.

I'm still laughing from "Who peed in your protein shake" from a page or two ago! Still everyone is failing to recognize that weight gain aka obesity aka FAT can be brought on from Thyroid, lack of enzymes and nutrional imbalance. I know dozens of people with those problems and regardless of exercise they still can not lose weight. At this point something would need to be changed surgically within them or ingested enzymes to get their metabolism going again. Being obese is NOT ONLY FROM LAZINESS. It's funny how conceded and ignorant all you "pretty people" are. Especially the fit douchebags.

^^^but you're a nice kind decent person that everyone should date, right?

Calling all pretty and fit people conceited (not conceded) and ignorant - real nice. Yet, you and other men like you complain that women should take a chance on the so-called "nice guys" who post like you do? You proved your own ignorance.

You know I do agree with you somewhat as I recently ran into a fitness azzhole on a hike I did in Vancouver. I'm not a big hiker and the guy scoffed at me because it took me 2 hours. Very insulting. And I said to my friend "no wonder overweight people don't like fit people".

That said, not everyone works out because they want to be pretty - some of us just don't want intense pain. Try walking in the shoes of someone recovering from an illness or facing a chronic illness every day who works out because it helps keep them more healthy and pain-free.

It is my understanding that if you have a thyroid problem that most are treatable. Just claiming a thyroid problem is an excuse. The problems are treatable and once treated you can have a healthy diet and exercise to improve your health. Again, keeping healthy the older you get isn't easy and making excuses are just that, excuses.

Of course it is. Lazy & whiny people love to blame everything except themselves. There is always an excuse, always!
Like it's only THEM with health problems, nobody else has health issues. bah!

I know a lot people gaining weight on heavy medication, then with good eating habits and regular exercise, getting back to normal.
Yes it takes time, yes it's a bumpy road, yes sometimes it's painful.....

That's where you separate winners and losers...
Oh and yes .... all fat people are nice... and all fit people are azsholes to boot.. that's the rule, no exceptions either.

I dont think its about the weight. I was just telling my daughter that i thought bigger guys are sexy....but its confidence that can be a turn off for a man or a woman. I dated a bigger guy last year. I liked him because he was well educated, so smart and loved kids. I really liked that he was into my body if i gained weight he thought i was sexy no matter what. I could get past his very bad eating habbits....like cow tounge sandwhiches...yuck. I would have loved if he would feel comfortable with more lights on and not always worried about covering himself up. I thought he was sexy...but i dont think he thought he was. I can understand being a woman and seeing so many pictures of stick models all over the place

What if I'm in good shape but have a little paunch? Does that make me a nice a$$hole?

I dunno. Ask that to "nice fatties". Since they came up with that rule.
