HHHMMMMMMMMMM it seems everywhere I go Sagitarians follow me, friends and men. Not sure why?
I do well in a dating scenario with men of my own sign, Taurus. The best relationship I ever had was with a Sagitarius. Wish now I had stuck around........
My mom is a Sagitarius, maybe we should date people of our mothers sign if we are females and people of our fathers sign if we are males.?

If the person actually fits into the broad descriptions of what their sign says they should be, it's something that I'll notice even though it wouldn't make or break the relationship for me.

Personally I fit my sign's description pretty well. Then you have to take in consideration that since the system of the zodiac was developed, the universe has done some expanding. Most people aren't the sign they think they are, the ones at the beginning and end of the cycles might actually be in the sign before or after.

My astronomy professor has a list of the real signs somewhere, I should try and get a copy of it sometime.

All I can say is as a fellow cancerian, is that I will NEVER, I MEAN NEVER DATE ANOTHER CANCER WOMAN IN MY LIFE. It is such a struggle to have two people who think their feelings are more important than the other...try a scorpio cancers! they will pull you out of your emotional tailspin.
Too much of a rollercoaster if you have two stubborn crabs.

let me make an amendment to that....if you know about your signs weaknesses...than talk about it...It is possible for two signs to get along...one has to be passive one has to be aggressive...f where is the spell check?

I am a pisces and have better luck with fellow pisceans than with any other sign. I think it's because we are so into romance and so passionate about things. Still, it has never stopped me from dating other signs. I have noticed, however, that I have terrible luck with Aries men.

Hey, I dont necessarily believe in them, but they are fun to read. My absolute best match is a Libra, followed by Aries, another Aquarius, then a Gemini. I have an astrology book, which describes me pretty well. But you cant let someone with an incompatible sign with yours scare you off

The more I read about compatible star signs, the more I am convinced it's a great basis to look for the right person. I have been out with 2 cancers, where the relationship was exactly the same. I have also been married to a Virgo, who even though I learned a lot from, was continually frustrated by certain aspects of his personality, it was only later when I read about libras and virgos together when I began to understand our differences.

I love this website because I can actually search people by their horoscope and I am looking forward to meeting some compatible signs. I think we all desire someone who understands us.

As an astrologer, I'll add my .02 here. Astrology is basically a science in and of itself. There is so much more to a person than where the Sun is placed at the time of their birth. You have other planetary placements that will make up the total picture.

Where the Moon is at the time of your birth which is where the emotions come from. The ascendent or rising sign which is the side of ourselves we present to the world. All the other planets, the various houses where the planets are, i.e. Moon in Taurus, in the 10th house, which is the house of work and careers. This exact placement means that the employee is hard working and able to handle a lot of things emotionally regarding the job that a lot of other people might not be able to, they are practical, ethical, reliable and don't complain much and very accepting of pretty much all situation. As an employer, who wouldn't want that?? There are also the retrogrades, all kinds of things. If it were only the Sun signs that counted than we would only have 12 types of people which as we all know is untrue.

Science has been trying to debunk astrology since the beginning of time same with psychics but yet enough people have seen the accuracy of both to believe that their must be something to it.

Even though an Earth sign Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn may not quite see eye to eye with a fire sign Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, if their Moon or Asc. is in a fire sign, they can still make beautiful music together.

I agree, Supermarket and newspaper astrology sux, but if you look a lot deeper into it..... it will give you a much greater understanding of the masses.

Blessings,

I will also add this side note. If you are just looking for 1 nite stands, booty call or sex buddies in general. I wouldn't even worry about what sign a person is. But if you're looking for a committed relationship with a partner 1 on 1 than I strongly suggest knowing about where the planets fall in each persons natal chart as it would be very nice to know if you can be compatible outside of the bedroom. :))

Years ago, I was on the side of astrology was all a load of bunk. However being part of my nature to not judge anything till I know the facts..I bought an interesting book on it and decided to read up on it.

After reading the book, I started to put some more stock into it...in respect to personality traits. The book actually gave instruction on how to determine rising signs along with moon signs etc...based on your place and date of birth. So curious mind that I have, I did mine, to see how close it would come. I became even more convinced. Not only did it pinpoint me to a tee, it explained alot. I had always read the general description of my sign in the past and felt it didnt quite fit. But when you bring in the other factors, as there is much more to it then most people realize, it was remarkably accurate.

I went a step further and decided to do a couple of friends of mine. It pegged them just as well as it had pegged me. Heck even my ex-husband, (whom I might add was an incompatible sign for me...lol ) never buys into anything less its in black and white, actually admitted that there may be something to it.

Determined to do my own little scientific study, I did a horoscope booklet for everyone I knew that year for Christmas...all of them were blown away at how accurate I had pegged them. In fact a couple of them became a little leary of me for awhile...lol...cause they were intimidated by how much I knew about them.

I actually ended up getting offers of money from people they had showed their booklets too, asking me to do one for them!!

So to all you disbelievers out there...by all means if you have done a true study and evaluated it properly and still find it to be bunk...then so be it. But to knock something without truly understanding what it's all about...that's just ignorance.

To all those that think that science has debunked astrology....I disagree...I have read many of the "scientific studies" and found that they really didnt research it adequately for one. For two, science can prove anything it choses to believe to be true, or disprove what it feels to be false. You will find one group that does a study to find something to be true, then another group studying the same topic, to find it to be false.

Hehe...so there you have it folks!

Ohhh and one more thing...all that being said though...you should not run you love life based on it. Just because your horoscope says you are not compatible...doesnt mean you can't make it work. You can actually learn alot from being with an opposing sign, and better yourself in the process. It is all in your perspective and what kind of person you are on whether two opposing signs will in fact work together. For that matter, even if you are compatible signs, that by no means, means you should be running to the alter with them....even "compatible" signed people will break up etc. Bottom line it is just about who you are and who they are, what kind of life they have lived etc.

The only thing you should be using astrology for in regards to relationships, is to try and understand the person better and to get a general picture of what obstacles etc you may be up against or what commonalities you have in your favour.

Cancers rule, the others drool !! LoL < just kiddin'.
Personally, I prefer to avoid the whole astrology gig.
That said, I sometimes see differences in people and can
be pretty accurate at what sign they are.
Especially a Gemini. I know several and to me they have
two different sides for sure.
Scorpios seem 'flighty' to me.
People of the same 'sign' seem to have some similarities
in some ways.
My best female friend is a fellow Cancer, and we see each other
in each other. It's kinda freaky at times, when you have a very
high probability of prediction of behavior / reaction.
Good part = we rarely disagree, & can communicate well.

Quite right hella chicky, your environment and how you were raised will play a HUGE part in who we become as people. But it's sure nice to have the basics on people before getting involved so you can make that educated decision as to whether to stick around or take a hike.

I posted this on another astrology thread and thought it made sense to post it here, too. Astrology can be a fascinating subject, but one shouldn't live their life ruled by it. It can be a guide, but one's free will overrides all.

There is scientific evidence that points to astrology being an influence on people. We all know the moon controls the tides; and it thought that it also controlled the opening and closing of an oyster's shell; yet it's been scientifically proven that they open and close with the phases of the moon, not the tides. Science has also proven that solar flares and storms interfere with radio transmissions on Earth and that there is an increase in auto accidents (up to 4 times the usual rate) just prior to and after these storms.

Astrology has been around almost as long as man...The first evidence of it is from the 2nd millennium B.C. and it spread through Babylonia, Mesopotamia, to Egypt, China, the Indus Valley and Meso-America. It was the preserve of the king to use to prepare for future events; it was not a personal tool; it then evolved in Egypt into its' present day form. It was also spread by Alexander the Great and absorbed by Rome when they conquered Greece...during this time it was attacked by the church (naturally). Then all the Greek writings on astrology were given to Persia and it again flourished, eventually making its' way to Europe. Even Carl Jung used astrology, as did Ptolmey (Greek Mathematician)Johannes Kepler (German Mathematician), and Isaac Newton.

Astrology does not make one do something; it simply points out certain positive and negative trends or influences that offer one a choice of action and leaves it to the person to use their free will to decide what to do. As Plotinus wrote: " The movements of the starts announce the future for all things, but they do not shape the future...Celestial movements are indications, not causes." Astrology is a blend of science and art; it uses math, cycles, and patterns, so it acts as a science; it is also an art as it uses the decoding of planetary symbols and ancient myths.

Astrology isn't the daily horoscope you see in the news papers...all those do is take the overall aspects of one's sun sign and discuss what current trend or influence is active generally...to truly understand how astrology affects an individual, one needs to do a natal chart. and I will tell you that it is amazing how detailed these can be and how they cannot fit another individual. Sure, I was skeptical when I first started reading about astrology, but over many years I have seen how it does affect us...and how knowing what trends and influences are active, once can make better decisions during those phases and how it opens one's eyes to traits they have that have caused them problems in the past. It's basically a guide that helps one to make a decision, if they choose to use the information.

It really is interesting how people with little to no knowledge of the subject just dismiss it, or say there's no scientific evidence for it. There is evidence...and don't forget, at one point people thought the earth was flat, that flight was only for birds, and that we'd never land on the moon. Every day science is able to prove a theory is true or false; to be close-minded simply because one can't see something *now* is to miss out on all the possibilities the world has to offer. And for all those who believe in God or a Supreme Being, you can't see him, yet you believe because of faith. Believing there's some merit to astrology is no different.

If you want to actually learn something abotu astrology, read Susan Miller's Planets and Possibilities. It will give one who knows little a good overview.

Some people really seem to show the characteristics that ar supposed to be common for their sign. But anybody can be a jerk if they want to, and that's what really matters.

I don't believe in that at all, I know alot of people do and thats cool, but I dont think you should use that to base your opinion on whether or not a relationship will work out.

I'm not sure what I think of astrology but I take it with a grain of salt.

According to the typical descriptions of my sign, we are the most forthright and honest of the zodiac. I am honest, that checks out.

Apparently saggi women make great mates...I have yet to see myself in a functional relationship that I don't have to leave LOL...so that I'm not sure on.

Im your typical Libra. And yes, for me I belive that signs do matter. I've dated 2 Pisces'. After the first one (about 11years ago) I swore I would never date another Pisces as he was a liar. The second (just recently) we dated for about 2 years. And he turned out to be a liar. Im not saying all you Pisces' are liars, just the two I have dated where. Why? Who knows. But Ive learned my lesson and won't repeat. I just hope the two men no longer lie to their other.
