| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/10/2005 1:36:41 AM | great story LATE
here is a tip folks:
go on ebay and get a heathkit monobloc amplifer
they were originally for stereos but the are very cool as a low powered hand-wired tube amp(if the DIY GUY DID A GOOD JOB)
mine is 14 watts it sounds so cool
THE BASS CONTROL gives the coolest bass boost ever
under $100us
any thoughts on the heathkits LATE?

Too big of a gamble unless I can see the lead dress, ...can be a great find though, they often had Mullards in them, outstanding tubes, .... Plenty of bargoons out there.
I grab old Gibson amps when ever I can, ...well kept secret.
Late/was the mexican playing the nylon threw a mic?
No, and so he can live, ...I'll never play with him again, it may well have been a good rig, ....he made it sound like A$$.
would u care to elaborate on ur setup u have in the pic in ur profile?

| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/14/2005 8:57:41 AM | Awesome.Thks.Must be gr8 i can feel those nice tones u must get. i will admit to being lazy lately about what i will bring to a gig usually the bare minunmum[spell check lol]. I entered the work force some yrs back and now i play mostly with guy's out there already that need a guy for whatever reason.this is what happens when u become a dad and the wife leaves u as u are on ur way making it in the music biz. i like the sparsity of ur effects leaving room for true tone. Playing acoustic threw tube amps kinda scares me cause i have encountered some grusome feedback.even though i use a notch switch. anyone got ideas on acoustic amps? i use the yamaha stomp for certain setting's. i use the fender passport as a acoustic amp i,ve thought of using the stereo chorus Roland amps. But sometimes just playing threw the house PA works. | |

| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/18/2005 3:23:59 PM | | I recently ordered my second bass. After doing a lot of research, decided on an Ibanez SR500 4 string. The first one, after I knew I was serious about playing, put in EMG P/J pickups. Would like to someday put a white perloid pickguard. But may have to have it custom made. | |

Eric Johnson is very skilled
He cannot in my opinon be classified as all time best because he is missing one very important thing
"coolnest factor"
his stuff is too "pg"
not enough of a bad ass ie hendrix, vai, van halen.....etc
yea well guys like EVH try way too hard to be impressive when it comes to playing guitar, not to mention someone like EVH continues to fret wank just as bad as Yngwie Malmsteen, but thankfully he isnt a total neck humping fool in comparison to that neo classical joke. I get bored of guitarists like SRV, Hendrix and Malmsteen cause they lack a lot of creativity and originality. The great thing about guys like Steve Vai and Eric Johnson is the fact that they sheerly dont play just one crappy style of music like shred metal, neo classical shred or whatever, thats like Clapton and SRV just playing the same boring blues using the same riffs over and over again.

| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/19/2005 4:47:21 PM | | You should have, lol, then they'd have been yours instead of the ex's ;) Besides, he only plays them (and does that very well); but you custom design them...I think that's hot | |

| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/20/2005 10:06:17 PM | | I was talking to my ex today and he mentioned he had stopped at a well-known guitar shop here and was talking with them about the floral...the guys there said they're pretty hard to find (though I've seen a few on ebay, usually being sold 'cause they need the money)...and that it looks like the price is going even highr on them now. | |

| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/25/2005 3:27:19 PM | multitiac nylon[synth ready]. i use it with the roland gr 33 synth. and a boss loop station.if u ever get a chance try it .endless possibilities. for instance we where playing Waiting for a freind[stones] and i played the sax solo got gr8 response from the audience. mixed breathy sax with a lil distortion. I also was surprised to see David Byrne[Talking Heads] use it.i meet him after the show and he had high praise for it. | |

| THE GUITAR PLAYER'S THREAD Posted: 9/25/2005 4:47:44 PM | I'm thinking of buying my second accoustic guitar, I need a real left handed one.
I saw one for 4.80 which I could also plug into an amp.
I'm not willing to pay more then $500 for it.
