This should be fun. Thanks for the invite. Just to remind everyone that London has "keys please". Its a taxi service that also gets your car home safe and sound too.

there is a comfort inn on dundas st.. 5min walk from the crabby's max...

if you call 1-800-424-6423 that is central reservations for choice hotels.. ask them for the caa rate.. and tell them you want the comfort inn on dundas st in london.

So anyone wanting a room i suggest you DO IT FAST.. as they are filling up with hockey teams...

i'm curious - in regards to dinner, how interested are people in eating buffet - lets say all you can eat for $12

i'm asking because we could order off the menu or i could order a buffet for us too

i'm just trying to figure if buffet would be easier so we could all eat at the same time

what do you all think?

well as long as we waited to order off the menu then we should have no problems getting our food together.. but buffet sounds good too

Umm may I ad there Allison this place is more expensive for most of the items on their menu !
What was wrong with the other place you had up ??
Or why not try Casey's and see if they are any less expensive as I know some people may find this a little pricey ! And with christmas not that far away some maybe little stretched for spending money !
Well just a thought I had okay so please don't go taking this as some kind of an attack on you !!

firmbear, you are making a lot of assumptions especially about the food - you'll notice i've been asking people about things like buffets - thats because i'm up to something - pls give me some credit

so first of all, this is MY CHOICE one i made with my co-host - i picked it for many reasons - one of them being that we will also have a dj there - something that would could not get at other places like Caseys - i've had a lot of people privately EXPRESS a concern over entertainment - so when looking for somewhere new in the neighbourhood I select this so it could be a "one stop party" instead of eating at one location and then 1/2 the people going elsewhere to dance, for example

secondly, we picked this place for a REASON - we shouldnt have to justify our reasons

thirdly there will most likely be the resturant menu as WELL AS one i'm having made JUST FOR US - i realize that the average price of a meal here might be $10 instead of $8 - but I don't think the added $2 is really going to affect anyones decision to come or not ESPECIALLY considering they get free admission to the nightclub (a $4 savings)

i realize that you are just trying to give "constructive critism" but i think you fail to grasp the fact that as always, I usually have most things planned out - i'm a grown up and i think of almost everything well in advance, if anything i'm guilty of usually overplanning - i really don't need anyone holding my hand through my decision making process

i realize that people might have concerns about money HENCE why people are welcome just to show up for the nightclub and/or drinks - there is zero pressure on anyone - we just want to meet new people, make new friends and maybe meet that special someone, either way, with that in mind i'm working on several cool deals with the owner

my point is firmbear, i realize your intentions might be good but please, if you don't like my events AS PLANNED, don't pee on my leg and tell me its raining - sometimes i wish you would realize that instead of always cutting up my events for whatever reason springs into your mind, you could have a little faith in me that I might actually know what i'm doing

if you feel you can do better PLEASE feel free to host your own event

Hey calm down would you Allison !!Woo !
I just said why did you make the change on the resturant !!
And I also asked did you check out caseys over by wal mart eastend dundas street !!
And hey no I am not picking apart your party allison okay ! Was just trying to maybe toss some idea's your way ! And yes I do have faith in you but why is it none of you ever have any faith in me when I try to help or when I offer any kind of help ????
Seems all any of you do is get all bent out of shape when I say anything and then look for a reason to argue with me !!

drop it now firmbear
you may think you were offering to help me - i view it as you once again nitpicking another event of mine - BUT i will not argue with you - you have to realize this topic is a PARTY INVITATION, not a topic looking for suggestions - its a party - already booked - period - like it or leave it

i'm already upset enough that due to poor customer relations i had to change to from Crappy joes - i certainly won't create anymore confusion by bouncing back and forth with where its located

and if you want to know why - then READ the original message - it is posted there (as it was all along)

uhm geee I can't make it there, because i have work obligations out of town...and am new to the party/social concept here....but damn it seems like a couple people...allison and her co-host have gone to pains to make it something for everyone....what's the issue...they shouldn't be compelled to rip up the plans because one person wants a different place or menu...duh...go or don't....and either way the planners should get gratitude regardless....unless of course the critics wanna do all the work in the future

miss allison, I agree ... I thank you for all of your hard work. I admire the people who run any of the forums on here, it takes time, energy and organization just to run the forum, let alone organize a party.

Like any party invitation, like you say - RSVP yes or no, either you like it and want to go or you don't/can't whatever. Hell, I booked time off work -- I'm there. And I'm not complaining about having to drive the extra half block to work either lol

We're going to have a great time with or without the naysayers so lets !!

and and (oops, boss won't let me do that before work) and have fun.

thank you for your support folks

imagine how disheartening it was to have the resturant i booked basically inform me they didnt want our business - its upsetting especially considering i've been advertising it for several weeks

i think you'd be surprised to find out how hard it is to actually find a place whos willing to have 200 people show up and eat dinner and drink all night- the fact is, it just isnt practical to do that in a small place like Caseys - you really need a big facility which thankfully I was lucky enough to find, considering the short notice as well.

i will say though, i do think this ended up being a HUGE blessing in disguise - i know a lot of people wanted to go dancing and i didnt want to have to host the party at 2 locations - 1) being the resturant, 2) being a dance club - just too complicated - lucky thing is we can do it all at this place and we are getting a lot of extra pluses too - i'm just keeping some of it quiet for now until i get it all ironed out - but i'm really all excited - just wait until you hear what i have up my sleeves

so once again, thank you to everyone for your support - i know it sucks that i had to change it but i do think in the long run it would have been the better choice to begin with

miss allison... no worries.... you changed the venue to suit the neeeds of the party and if crappy joes doen't want the sales from 200 people or more so be it...... THeir loss.. personally i think that whole chain is going down hill and fast...

Glad to see you found a new place that is wanting our business and an one stop party place..

And folks just a reminder if you are coming from out of town i suggest you get a room booked..... ASAP london has a huge hockey tournament in town

There is a comfort innn on dundas st just down from the honest lawyer and within walking distance

if they are sold out there is also an econolodge on york st a little farther but still a short cab ride away..
Just ask for the CAA discount at comfort inn it is 81.86 if you share the room with someone else its about 50 bucks a person with tax....

Thanks again allison and whatslove for taking on such an event like this... Who knows maybe we will find our christmas wish early

@ Allison

Regardless of where the party may be I said that I would be there, and I try to be a man of my word. I will be there and don't ever think that I concider the effort you put into the parties to be a waste or un-appreciative. I haven't been into the threads for some time now but damn there has been a lot said. I will be there and am looking to have a good time. If I get my way then I will have a guest to tag along as well. Maybe this time I will actually be able to meet a few ppl, and still escape the cameras again. I hope to see you all there.
