I have to disagree. While you could make a good argument that not ALL of it needs to be excreted, urine takes waste products out of the body that need to be removed. Sure, the vast majority of it is water; and in most cases, yes, it is sterile. But if our bodies needed it, we wouldn't be excreting it. Water is simply a carrier substance to remove the excess and waste compounds which are dissolved into the solution. Yes, you can probably consume some urine without any ill effects. But if that's all you drink, eventually it will make you ill. Astronauts have been drinking the recycled filtered, purified waste water for years while in space. The key words are filtered and purified. Some might find it repulsive, but others of us really don't care either way. I know that during oral sex I consume a bit of the woman's 'bodily fluids', so I suppose that at some point during orgasm there could easily have been a few drops (or more) of urine there as well, but I never really thought about it. Doesn't really bother me, though. Golden showers? Um, sure if she wants; but I'll still take a normal shower afterwards. Reeking of stale urine isn't my idea of an enticing scent.
Actually.. it isn't. The reason you urinate is because it is what is left over.. but that doesn't mean it is waste. It is just what is left after your body has used what it could.. AT that time. What is left, is excess.. not waste!
Why do you think there is so much Urea in medical prescriptions and facial creams and the like?
Urine IS sterile.. unless of course, there is an infection .. then of course it would not be, at that point.
The only reason you would die from drinking urine and ONLY urine is because you would be loosing electrolytes. But if that is all you had.. then it would most likely SAVE you until you could be rescued or found civilization.

Posted: 7/4/2008 1:34:43 PM | Acctually urine is one of the most safest of all bodly fluids. You can drink it safely with little to no chance of any ill effects. It is very sterile to the outside of the human body and with no open cuts or sores there is almost a 0% chance of anything.
I can attest to the power of urine to counter act the sting of a jelly fish.

I was young and I wasn't going to do it, so if he gets off on weird stuff, then it isn't my problem. My high school biology teacher told us that he drank urine to survive once out in the wilderness so it wasn't as gross to me as it could have been. However, when I went to his house one time (we used to spend time at mine) and I saw the vinyl sheet on his bed it kind of creeped me out. This was someone who liked that stuff all the time and I certainly wasn't the first.
