| Name the number one thing keeping you single..
Posted: 5/19/2008 3:52:15 PM | There are a number of things keeping me single.
One is an issue with trust, so it takes me a while to warm up to people. I've been burnt bad a few times relationship wise. Seems like guys with big hearts are the ones who suffer the most.
The other is shyness, most of the woman I've met have had to make the first move, but once past the first kiss, I'm on fire !

As you said, Paul, a lot of us have been burned a few times in the dating wars to that makes one a little more reluctant to plunge into the fire one more time. | |

The good news is, it's not something you can't change, like eye color or whatever, so there's always hope. | |

I am so outgoing at work and deal with the public consistently but when it comes to making a plan for a date, insecurity becomes my date. | |

I think that many people remain single because they do not honestly know and accept themselves and (more importantly) they don't know what they want in a partner. Your chances of getting from A to B increase significantly when you know where A and B are.
I think that when people are truly comfortable with themselves they become more attractive. And when they know what they want they naturally position themselves to find what they are looking for. Isn't it funny how when you focus on you and stop trying so hard to find that "right person" that right person finds you.

I have friends up on my profile for that very reason, I do not want to search anymore. I do get approached more and more now...mostly by Dweebs and Dorks, with a few honey's thrown in that are looking to dip their wick, but like the gal above, I probably have F***off written on my forehead too.
I even had this conversation with another gal fish a couple weeks ago. We seem to be the same when it comes to letting people get close to us. I can appear standoffish at a party or mixer, but that is just a facade. Don't let the F***off sign fool you. It can come down!
That and the fact that when I do meet someone, I choose the wrong man who has no time for me, is terrible at communicating, and breaks dates! | |

I have to agree. From what I've seen is guys down realize the sign can be removed, I just have no control over when it pops up. lol

Are you saying men are afriad of you? I think they are jealous because they want our awesome head tatoo! Though the men who do give off those vibes, I find the girls are always attracted to them. Maybe Its that bad boy vibe we are attracted to. But when its girls with that, we are called "****es"
