| Have any of you fellow Floridians met anyone here?
Posted: 8/30/2006 3:06:54 PM | yeah well mr. jazz dan but i was interested in you from HERE not myspace, but u were only looking for ''friends''...My space is not a site i really get into....more like a networking site for me and a place to sell my book...no man has ever tried to talk to me on there as far as dating goes...i've made attempts to talk to a few men in my area on there...but it's hard to compete with the porn stars and models on there...hehe....and most of the men seem to be into the bar scene and partying....so i prefer actual dating sites...
not much luck here either.....i'm beginning to think it's just my hometow because i'm not finding what i'm looking for here...and the guys i do relate well too are all too young for serious stuff.... | |

Posted: 8/30/2006 6:31:38 PM | well u can read my opinion on guys who just want to collect female ''friends'' on that other forum topic..."you're not what i'm looking for".....ive made a few comments there as to how i feel about that...i'm not going to pursue a man who doesn't want to be caught...been there done that...big waste of time...i have true friends who have proven trustworthy...and i dont want to sleep with them....
ok so now i'm getting off topic....i did hang out with a guy from this site last weekend and again this weekend...and if nothing else we're going to have fun...and enjoy one another's company...so he and i are on the same page there | |

however i went out with a guy today, and actually made a day long date of it. he rode his motorcycle down and took me riding all day. we went to a movie, went to a late lunch/early dinner, and shot pool for a little while... i have high hopes for this one... its been a long time since i have had a connection or even just had fun on a date... wish me luck! | |

There are two or three men who I have been corresponding with that if a meeting worked out, I would probably be game. But, I have all the time in the world.
My biggest complaint ..., no make that laugh, about the men from FL is this: They really and truly seem to think that even if they are 45, an 18-year-old is going to want to date them. Not that I am saying it is out of the question, but at 18 I would never have even looked at a man that much older. I see a profile for a guy who is 45 (just picking an arbitrary # here) and it specifies he will only date women 18-30. So, only younger women. Well, that does not take into consideration the fact that maybe, perhaps, the only women who would want to date him might be 30+. I dunno. As I get older, the men I want to date are older also. I certainly would not want to date a manboy who is still telling funny drunk-party stories about the prom he went to this past summer. :)
Oh well. Who am I to kick someone's dreams to the dirt? ;) | |

I have always been considered attractive and men like me but not on this web site. I don't really take it personally, I just plan to keep my profile on here b/c you never know. But I do get out and do things with friends and don't rely on this web site. I think most of the people on here aren't really interested in meeting someone but just like writing and it is free. I think probably that there are more serious people on the web sites that you have to pay to join like match.com. | |

Posted: 9/12/2006 9:45:20 AM | Well I have met some men from the site and have gone on dates with several. Most all the dates have gone well and at the least I have made some good friends.
What I would suggest to you is to go to the POF get togethers, especially the ones where you go to a small quiet place first so you can get to know each other. It's a great place to meet single friends which for me has been nice because most the people I know are either married couples or just coupled friends. I've enjoyed getting to some new single people in my area and I can now pick up the phone and say, hey wanna go out tonight.
So all in all POF has been a great experience for me. | |

met one long time ago,went on one date, didn't get the warm fuzzies, good thing as his girlfriend called a week later, and wanted to know if I was dating her boyfriend, whom she lives with, as my number was on his cell phone, few days later I get an e-mail from his wife, whom he is separated from, who thought he was no longer living with the girlfriend and was moving back in with her. He calls me, tells me they are both nuts, and are stalking him, told him hold on a minute, your girlfriend on other line telling me what she cooked you for dinner the night you met me for a drink....
met another guy, separated from his wife, said they were getting divorced, (ha ha) he is another loser, translation - liar, and said she was a prescription drug addict, nasty to the children, nasty to him, cheated on him, blah blah blah....skipping work and partying and drinking, and he was such a good guy, great dad, who didn't deserve any of it...anyway, she gets arrested for domestic assault and bettery, punching him in front of their daughters, screaming at the cops, she gets arrested, spends the night in jail, and wants her 5 year old to show her where I lives, and guess what, a week later they are together again, as "she needs help and their daughters need the family intact" but calls and leaves tearful boo-hoo messages on my phone that he loves me...uh huh, sure ya do.
three times is the charm you would think, meet another guy, had chatted for weeks, anyway, apparently he can only type, not talk, as didn't want to talk on phone after we met, just wanted to chat online and only called at odd hours and wanted to meet within an hour, says he is spontaneous person and doesn't like to plan ahead. I have a child, can't drop everything to run and meet him on a moments notice, not to mention that he lived 45 minutes away, and not to mention that if you really wanted to go out, you would care enough to plan at least a day ahead, or even a few hours ahead, so that I would be able to do so, a call at 11:15 on Friday night to meet him immediately to me is a booty call, not a date, and when I wouldn't/couldn't meet him then, he sulked and wouldn't talk to me again...wierd thing is, we had met twice, had a great time, then he didn't call for a while, then would buzz me up on instant message, at 42 you would think he would be able to relate to a woman on more than a 16 year old high school level...
anyway, think I am taking a dating break. I know there are great guys out there, just not in the mood to sift through the dung to find them, have had quite enough drama for now. | |

ten year marriage, 16 years together, and I know quite a few long term marriages that have a great sex life, and actually, a few friends that complain that their husbands don't want it enough......
I know it was supposed to be kinda a joke, and I wasn't offended, just wanted to enlighten you and break the stereotypical point of view that some men have of women, which is why I put "no offense" | |

Posted: 9/19/2006 7:29:43 PM | | I signed up when I was living on the gulf coast side last Fall--I met a really nice F who actually didn't even have a pic in her profile--we emailed some, talked on the phone a good bit then met. We had a really nice chemistry, had some pretty satisfying affection and romance for a while before I had to look to the Atlantic side of FL for a more long-term location around beginning of 2006. No one since I just recently re-signed up, but like the last few people in my life--good times, good vibes and great memories. She says same, btw. Who else isn't cynical about this? (you know attitudes REALLY influence outcomes . . . don't you?). Times can be tough--I'm divorced 6 years and get lonely at times, but you tend to remember things in black and white. It's actually nice to take people at face-value and not refer to gains/losses in love. I try to approach things this way and it's been working . . . when I have someone to do that with. | |
