I agree with you, however I do not consider the bible to be fact. The ones who do, believe that God spoke to Moses and Moses wrote what God did. If you don't believe it then the bible cannot be true to you. | |

Good point....I personally see the bible as being highly sexist and have posted many verses showing sexism in other threads.....I am just saying that God can be viewed as the cause, if one is to believe. If not, then yes, it is man who caused sexism. | |

That status of history is very clear - not only in Scripture but in the social mores that governed most societies in the world. By modern value systems and worldly human viewpoint that is called sexist. God ordained the order in society not man and He is the author of the establishment principles of authority. However, like everything else, the fall man has corrupted this order and that has resulted in the inequality of the standing of men and women through out history.
The Bible is not sexist. Because it accurately portrays the results of sin. The Bible records all kinds of sin; slavery and bondage and the failures of its greatest heroes yet it also gives us the answer and the cure for those sins against God and His established order.
The charge of the sexism of the Bible is based upon a lack of knowledge of Scripture. When men and women of all ages have taken their God ordained places and lived according to "Thus says the LORD" then there is a wonderful balance between the genders and that balance is what God began with and it is what He will end with. There is an inordinate amount of attention paid to the various products of sin and not to the root of it. It is only when there is personal reconciliation with God through the LORD Jesus Christ that we find true equality. "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32).

The Bible records all kinds of sin; slavery and bondage and the failures of its greatest heroes yet it also gives us the answer and the cure for those sins against God and His established order. God gave laws regarding slavery, polygamy, divorce,etc....they were not sins, only acts that required guide lines.
When men and women of all ages have taken their God ordained places and lived according to "Thus says the LORD" then there is a wonderful balance between the genders and that balance is what God began with and it is what He will end with. This is the sexism....men and women have divided roles, they are not equal in what they can do according to the bible. Men can speak in church and ask questions, women cannot. This is sexist because these roles cannot overlap according to scripture. | |

If this is in case a fact, we may as well claim that men are less because we can't have babies | |

GREAT short BUT true post! Ignorance and blind faith is soooo dang frustrating!!! God Loves us all! We don't have some crazy angry God we should fear! Please people stand outside the box! Stop downing others for their choice of religion or spirituallity!The only problem I have is ignorance and prejudice. We ALL LOVE our God! Their are many paths to God. We are all different and special(the way GOD made us). Not everyone looks at something the same way! God wants us all to accept each other for what we are! Stop judging others and spreading negativity.You are no better than anyone else. Yes, the curse is real if you give it your energy. It is real for only those who believe in it.
I am sure this did not even get through to the religious freaks. It is just so hard to read this crap. Humans are to blame for the extreme wheather. Does pollution ring a bell anyone. SCIENCE proves this.
Sure the Earth is going to end some day, but our souls will always live on with God, Get a grip please...

Posted: 12/17/2005 12:36:34 PM | I did not see God come down and write the bible, Man wrote it and re-wrote it how many times? I will choose my own first hand experiences with God thankyou very much. Lets try to expand our minds and consciousness instead of being little blind puppets. PLEASE! Most religions are about CONTROL and FEAR. that is very sad and leaves no room for any kind of personal growth.I am sure God can't be too keen on that.
