Guess we never know if pictures or people's profile's content are fake or not untill we actually meet up with them. I tend to be very wary or over cautious of people who only have one picture on their profile and when you get to chat online with them on msn etc you ask if they have any more display pictures to put on display.... then its excuse after excuse as to why they dont have any more which does cause alarm bells to ring with me.... like is it really them, have they nicked it off some-elses profile kind of thing, so if asked to meet up i must admit i am rather against it! I mean i know not all people like having pictures taken etc but if your serious and want dates and are on dating sites looking Specificity for dating/intimate encounters, then surley having pictures bring you more intrest i would have thought.

Funny how some people insists on sending you some to your mobile has all their pics are in their mobile phone...... yes right any excuse to get your mobile number!!. Never heard of a PC data cable, which can upload your phones pictures straight to ya PC.....

If in doubt... leave well alone i say, best to be safe than sorry!!

i recently was fooled by a man who had a pic on here as a woman and a very attractive woman at that,we got to talking and she(well what i thought at the time)seemed to be real genuine person,i have never had a pysical relationship with a woman and would consider myself to be bi curious,so all the attention clouded my better judgement, and we got close in the way we chatted erotically and quite passionately,it blew my mind.then a man i had been talking to for some time said to me make sure this person is not male,i was shocked as i would have never of thought it(suppose i live in an ideal world and wear rose tinted glasses as i try to see the good in people always)so for him to say this was like WOW! it had never entered my head i thought she was shy girl and wanted to get to know me more by e mail first ,instead of rushing but when i asked her to ring she never did and i got lots of excuses anyway basically after i confronted this person they deleted thier profile straight away and left me feeling so annoyed and frustrated as i dont even know who this person was and didnt get chance to share my feelings with this person of how i felt towards what they had done.I THINK PEOPLE WHO DO THIS ARE SOMEHOW MENTALLY DISTURBED AND NEED TO GO SEEK A COUNSELLOR FOR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.
good luck everybody in your search for the right fish...

If the people who post fake pics, would just put up recent, honest pics of themselves up, then they might meet someone here that would like them for themselves. As far as those who are married and playing games, well, I wish there were something that they could do about screening those out. That would be nice.

I'm with that! I have met some really nice people here - come across some jerks, but that's anywhere - the "all over the world" part is fun too....

It's Christmas time, so Merry Merry to all - Claudia

I always put up honest fairly recent pics of myself and I still haven't met anyone on here, let alone anyone who likes me for me.

There is a woman going by the id of fancy7777 (Kathy Baker) who is using pictures she cut out of a Victoria Secrets catalog. She has alot of people fooled but not me. If you look at all the pictures she uses, you can tell they are not of just one person. She always makes up an excuse why she cannot meet her "boyfriend(s)". It sad what she is doing.

i can remember a short while back looking at the pictures on this womans profile and i kept thinking i had seen those pictures some where else.

Anyway i had seen those pictures on a stockings website, tho some of the pictures couldn`t have been shown on POF there were quite a few pics of " this " woman that could have been, so i downloaded the " other " pics they hadnt used in the profile and i contacted this person whilst sending these other pictures saying " wow, look at this, isnt is great that i too have pictures of you or maybe you post your pictures on adult web sites", i didnt however recieve any reply ......................because it was a fake.

fake pics, yes I have experienced it several times, got to the coffee meeting, was totally shocked, needless to say,no second date or furthur contact,it wasn't about being shallow,it was all about I felt decieved, blatently decieved. Not a good way to start off making a good impression.I try and update my pics at least once a month, what you see is what you get.

I've been on a couple of dates so far, and every time I hear.... "Hmmm, you really look like your picture". I'm new to online dating, and it always comes as a surprise when someone says that to me ! I think if you choose to live your life with integrity you will have integrity in everything. Be yourself! So what if someone "deletes" your email or doesn't get back to you... it's probably better for you in the long run.... maybe they did you a favor. Why hide who you are? Not everyone will like you -so what!

It took years for me to actually sign up on a dating site. I don't regret it... I've met lots of nice interesting folks. And, so far they have all looked like their pictures.

Be yourself.....

some people on this site are starting to piss me off. Why?

It's the freakin myspace pose. People, how hard is it to just point the camera straight and take a pic? Why do you have to tilt the camera at an angle, then tilt your face, and then take a pic?

Please, if you're ugly and try to use the myspace pose to cover-up, it doesn't work (although I have witnessed some incredible cover-ups).

^^^ Ah yes, the "Big girl downward shot". The one that only shows the large chest and cute face. Cant see the belly or the flab on the arms. The flab on the neck gets stretched out like this so its less noticable to. Tricky. Body type usually says "Average". Thier defence is that 60% (or some amount) of women are overweight so they really are average. Im not against being big (doesnt mean Im attracted to it) but this misrepresentation needs to stop. As an internet dater you really need to train yourself to look very carefully at every picture you come across these days.

I called out someone on a picture they had of themselves. It was from about 30 feet away and fuzzy. I could barely tell there was a person in the shot. Come on people. Digicams are cheap and everywhere. Make an effort at least.

Yes misrepresentation really needs to stop.Men seriously need to stop adding three to four inches to their height. When a man says he is 5'10 and shows up shorter then me ,and i am 5'8, then they need to stop lying to themselves and everyone else. Not to mention men also use outdated pictures and frequently show up looking 15 years older and with much less hair then their pictures showed.

haha, after i read that i looked at my own pics and realized some of mine are at weird angles. yes, i've known some girls (even some friends of mine) that held the camera a certain way to be more flattering and some have done some extreme tilting to hide the fact that they are 250lbs and over. but, see, that's why i included some pics that show more of me. then, after exchanging a few messages with a guy, we usually trade facebook or myspace links. then, that pretty much squashes any concerns about fake or edited pics if this person has several more pics of themselves with friends and page postings from those same friends within the past week. then, you have to pretty much give in to the fact that they have current photos.

thats a total lie, and you know it. I would guess the profile itself isn't that important to a superficial person like yourself. Its all about the face, just admit it...you probably don't even reply to most guys msgs, unless they look like they're one of the Oceans 13 or something...you're not fooling anybody

What I think is interesting is that many people who responded to your post do not have a picture posted?
