| Top Reason to Be a Conservative Posted: 11/5/2005 6:14:31 AM | You get to turn a democracy into a facist dictatorship, then trick poor people into singing up for your military in the hopes that they will get schooling and bennefits, then use said poor people to invade foriegn countries and die to steal for you.
Almost sounds like a gang! Move over crypts and bloods, the Bushevics are taking over!

Conservatives get good parking spaces
That's only because conservatives use the handicapped spaces.

By the way...Can you fly a jet aircraft?
Many Guard units were sent to Vietnam...The only reason President bush's didn't go is because the typ of aircraft he was flying at the time was obsolete...

Republicans are the party of morals and faith.
For a bunch of Christians, they never seem to quote Jesus.
"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
Halliburton, anyone? | |
|
| Top Reasons to Be a Conservative Posted: 11/21/2005 11:47:31 AM | The Clinton administration made the same calculation in its own dealings with Halliburton. The company had won the LOGCAP in 1992, then lost it in 1997. The Clinton administration nonetheless awarded a no-bid contract to Halliburton to continue its work in the Balkans supporting the US peacekeeping mission there because it made little sense to change midstream. According to Byron York, Al Gore's reinventing-government panel even singled out Halliburton for praise for its military logistics work.
So, did Clinton and Gore involve the United States in the Balkans to benefit Halliburton? That charge makes as much sense as the one that Democrats are hurling at Bush now. Would that they directed more of their outrage at the people in Iraq who want to sabotage the country's oil infrastructure, rather than at the US corporation charged with helping repair it. (Rich Lowry National Review Editor Sept 22, 2003)
Under the Clinton administration, Halliburton received hundreds of millions of dollars worth of construction contracts for rebuilding efforts in Kosovo and Haiti.
In a deal cut in June 2000 under President Clinton, the New York Post reports that Halliburton won 11 Navy contracts worth $110 million to build jails at Guantanamo Bay, a base in Kuwait, a ferry terminal on Vieques, an air station in Spain, a breakwater in the Azores and facilities slammed by a typhoon in Guam.

| Top Reasons to Be a Conservative Posted: 11/21/2005 12:12:50 PM | Why limit yourself between Liberal and Conservative. It's time to think outside of the two party box. Each decision in the box will only screw us over.
This limited thinking between Left and Right is keeping us down. It keeps us controled. Liberal or Conservative the government is still going to screw us over in the end.
It's been happening for so long that we've gotten used to it like a slave is used to the whip.

I can't believe the same people are still here debating right and left. No matter how long or how many posts, people will never do their homework if they haven't already, certain posters will never post anything relavant to the topic (me and others Ooops!) and other posters will make outrageous claims and never back them up, but it can produce some laughter I suppose.
And I still can't type or spell. Damnit!!!
::::::::::Singing in Sarcatic satyr tone::::::::::::
"I could while away the hours Conferrin' with the flowers Consultin' with the rain And my head, I'd be scratchin' While my thoughts were busy hatchin' If I only had a brain.
I'd unravel ev'ry riddle For any individ'le In trouble or in pain
With the thoughts I'd be thinkin' I could be another Lincoln, If I only had a brain.
Oh, I could tell you why The ocean's near the shore, I could think of things I never thunk before And then I'd sit and think some more.
I would not be just a nuffin' My head all full of stuffin' My heart all full of pain. I would dance and be merry Life would be a ding-a-derry If I only had a brain--Whoa!"

The Halliburton reference was not the main point of my post. I was responding to the claim that "the Republicans are the party of faith and morals" and questioning why the religious right never seems to think about Jesus' message.

| Top Reasons to Be a Conservative Posted: 11/21/2005 8:39:45 PM | Its OK, I was just wanting to throw the Halliburton/ Clinton thing out for a few weeks, and kept forgetting to do it. There is much more I left off, but did not wish to bore anyone further. I know I am not read, so I keep it to a minimum.
Not sure the Republicans are the Jesus Party. I can quote plenty of scripture having gone to a private school most of my life (where I was forced to memorize most of the bible), but I keep that to myself.

| Top Reasons to Be a Conservative Posted: 11/23/2005 8:41:30 AM | All politicians are crooks. Nothing more and nothing less. They are all after their own interests above those of the nation. Look at all the Republican and Democrat politicians who support interests of major corporations. The corporations are so powerful that their power isn't restricted to the Republicants. The Demorats are just puppets who will question the right but they will only do the bare minimum to slightly appease the electorate.
Damn those Liberals for helping conceal Conservative lies. Personally I hope that Hilary Clinton could become president tomorrow so that the whole world can see that even she is a do nothing puppet only serving interests of the corporation.
Hilary is all in favour of a one border policy from Canada US to Mexico because of all the border problems. Hilary Clinton trusts Bush enough to suggest to him to create a North American Empire.
It is because of this that Hilary will never be President. Three years is a long way a way. General Tommy Franks even said that if there is another 9/11 Event the Constitution will be eroded for a military government. Clearly it will happen at a time that is convienent to Bush.
Once the nation surrenders it's rights and freedoms they will never be given back and somebody who is powerful enough can makethemselves the next Napoleon or Hitler.
Read RFK Jr's book.
Crimes Against Nature: How George W. Bush and his Corporate Pals are plundering the country and hijacking Democracy.
Very good read. He brings many issues to the forefront. Earth is currently at a major impass because the environment has taken a beating in the last few years. When it comes to answering this subject I usually always here people say that nothign will happen for another 20 years. Even educated professors.
Well the truth is we don't have 20 years. Heck the world can't wait for Bush's term to finish either. Our environments are on their last legs. The current two year window is the absolute last chance for the environment to be brought from the brink.
What happened to the Roman Empire is now happening to the US. The environment is getting raped and this will become very evident in our own health over the next few years.
If nothing is done to help the environment, if the environment continues to be plundered the human race will have to find a new home. We've screwed the pooch on this one for sure.

| Top Reasons to Be a Conservative Posted: 11/24/2005 6:56:48 PM | Republicans pick and choose their faith for political gain. That's not faith, it's hypocrisy.
"You get to be on the winning Team."
.. Oh is that why the same people who were content to have their lips attached to George Bush's ass a few years ago-- are now avoiding him like a bad case of syphillis.
Geez- A faulty war, several members of your former cabinet being investigated, and a tax cut to the wealthy and they lose faith in him? But he's such a stand up guy! Bush did alot of good in Virginia for the "Winning team" he helped the "losing team" to a landslide victory.
"the typ of aircraft he was flying at the time was obsolete..." Or perhaps... It could be -- applying for non-flight divisions TWICE, being refused then ignoring the USAF standards and refusing to take a physical exam?... (According to Lt. Colonel Jerry Killian in 1972) Fact check this, I dare you.. :) [http://www.awolbush.com/documents/BushGuardaugust1.pdf]
"So, did Clinton and Gore involve the United States in the Balkans to benefit Halliburton? "
This new strategy is ridiculous-- Let's take horrible things George W. Bush did and compare them to things Clinton did on a MUCH smaller scale- and call them twins.
It's similar to the argument that "Democrats voted for iraq, the war is their fault too, etc.." The 'I know you are but what am I' line of defense... It's all very grade school.
Yes, Clinton made alot of mistakes- but none as hideous and calculated as Dubya's.

| Top Reasons to Be a Conservative Posted: 12/9/2005 9:30:09 AM | Dems and Repubs have both done:
* Great things * Really bad things
It was two democrat presidents that got us into vietnam and started the deployment of troops there: JFK, and LBJ.
The one who got in thrown in his lap and got blamed via revisionist history writers who claimed he "started it": Nixon
Nixon did many things, but get the US involved in Nam, we were very much already in nam and soldiers were already getting killed. The difference between him and LBJ is that he did listen to the american people and ordered a withdrawl of troops. (Eventually).
Oh yeah, watergate smaughtergate.
