Bailey's on Ogden Avenue in Westmont, IL.
Next time I'm in Illinois, I'm SO there!
It's as likely as getting to anyplace in Vancouver anytime soon anyway....
Hey, I've got another good one! BB Bubble Tea Town...on McGill (Raquetor Club)in Kamloops...
If you are addicted to Bubble Tea, like I am....very friendly staff, great food smells(never have time to eat there) Quaint atmosphere....can even sit on pillows if you are lucky enough to get that table(my fave spot)

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/11/2005 10:07:16 PM | | There's this little romantic italian restaurant in burnaby on hastings called L'Artista, perfect casual ice breaker or to really impress a girl by showing some class. Has a real nice romantic feel with brick arches and nice paintings, casual wear is fine and the food is amazing ! Good size portions with reasonable prices. Save room for Tiramisu !!! to die for ! 2 spoons, perfect end to a date. | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/14/2005 6:57:29 PM | The Watermark Don't know if anyone has tried this place but I went there and was very happy with how it was there. Nice wine selection and excellent service and the food not only looked well prepared but it was excellent. Not too expensive but I would say second or third date type of place. If you never heard of it The Watermark is located on Kits beach with a heated patio overlooking the water on the beach. If you time it right catch dinner with sunset. http://www.watermarkrestaurant.ca/index.htm | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/22/2005 9:20:05 PM | | There's a place downtown - can't remember where... called Jupiter - you could Google it. It's a restaurant/lounge. It's dimly lit with big comfortable couches/chairs and candles and the food is excellent but not too expensive. On monday nights they have a stand-up comedy night for $5 at the door... i know its a monday but the comedy was really good!!! It doesn't look that promising on the outside but it's a really cool place!!!! Good for hanging out with friends too! Also, right down the road there is the mansion aka Macaroni grill... i haven't been there yet but the patio in summer looks amazing!!! | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/24/2005 10:23:49 PM | | If you like a romantic winter scene (and it should be perfect in a few weeks) is the sleigh rides up on Grouse Mountain....if you pack a thermos with hot chocolate (add a splash of Bailey's), throw a couple of blankets and pray for a sunny afternoon. Or pack your skates and enjoy the outdoor skating rink up on Grouse Mountain - again probably in a few weeks if the cold weather continues..... | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/26/2005 7:25:08 PM | | I agree pixEchick, the food is good at Marcello's but I found the atmosphere to be very cold and impersonal. I prefer Lombardo's which his wife owns and runs. Dolce Amore on Commercial Dr. and Gravely has fabulous Italian ice cream...(orgasmic to say the least!) | |

| Good Places to eat, and good places to take a date Posted: 11/30/2005 8:04:28 PM | I can't believe nobody has mentioned
BON'S ON BROADWAY!!!
Those who know it, love it.
I'm not even kidding, either!! I've taken several people there... Not sure I'd call it a 'date', more just 'let's go for cheap breakfast/coffee/lunch.' Who "dates" anymore, anyways?
Of course, that was back in my broke ass struggling student days, but Hey, you gotta live within yer means right!
Or if you're on broadway, mongolian teriaki.
and you can never go wrong with the Rugby Club.... well, I guess you could if you didn't make reservations.
I still say the best place for a first date is a starbucks, or a pub with live tunes or a hockey game.. try the coppertank, elwoods, media club, railway club, shark club, cactus club... though that one's risky, with all the hot waitresses walking around you'd better have your eyeballs on a tight leash.
